I think it would be in your best interest as a landlord to take 85 West Park Place off as a rental unit and fix it up like it needs to be fixed it's a freaking eyesore it's raining all the properties around it down in value. If you can't take care of your properties and maintain them then you shouldn't be a landlord

Glenn Schmalhofer is a thief

Glenn Schmalhofer is a terrible landlord and a terrible person who runs a terrible business. He is known for withholding security deposits for no reason, and he does not take care of the properties he rents to his tenants. When I lived in one of Glenn's properties, he was so inattentive that the house was eventually condemned by the city of Newark due to things like lack of heat in the winter, mold, rats, and more that I won't get into here. Glenn does not care about the students he rents to. In fact, he takes advantage of their naivety by refusing to carry out his responsibilities that are agreed upon in the leasing agreement, because he knows that students know little about tenant rights, and that many students have little time to deal with the issues he causes. Bottom line: DO NOT RENT FROM GLENN SCHMALHOFER. He is a thief. Spend a little time looking for an attentive landlord who respects the tenant-landlord rights laws that have been enacted by Delaware and the city of Newark. Renting with Glenn will produce undue amounts of stress.

Did not receive deposit back

We rented through udcribz. After moving out of the house after the rental agreement was up I never received my deposit back. At first I was sent consent emails and I received one back asking for my new address. But since I never received my money I have been emailing them since the summer and have gotten ignored every time. It's a shame that these landlords are like this and take advantage of us. I am debating on taking this to court. If anyone has any incite on this please let me know

Udcribs House Rental Review from Newark, Delaware

As a tenant of udcribs.com I myself have had a bad relationship with them. My husband was working for Glenn Schmalhofer as a maintenance man at MSC and all rental properties and grounds keeper and security at MSC. And when push came to shove because of his live in girlfriend (Opal Palmer), My husband was terminated and left with no pay checks to feed his family of 7. And now we are stuck in their rental home because they won't pay my husband. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They are heartless and not worth anyone's time.

We are dealing with Glen Schmalhofer and find him to be unresponsive to the Health and well being of his renters. He feels they’re just college students and therefore don’t matter.

I cannot believe how long his behavior has continued with no repercussions. What is the purpose of UDcribs.com to its user He’s behavior is criminal

Landlord did not return security deposit

The owner, Glenn D. Schmalhofer, of www.udcribs.com a rental property and housing company for University Of Delaware students, did not return our security deposit from 9 students (about $4,500 total) and refused to provide us an accounting of how our security deposit was used, even after repeated requests. He completely ignored us. As college students we could not afford to lose about $500 each and we needed this money back for security deposits for our next year's housing rental. If he provided us an accounting of how he spent "our" money and it made sense we would have understood.

Hello,

I am currently a tenant, with Glenn Schmalhofer as my landlord, and I am currently facing a variety of problems caused by him and his company. There are a slew of repairs that he has yet to address--repairs that should have been completed before we moved in 3 months ago.

We've sent him repeated emails, and have gotten to the point where we had an inspector come out to review the property.

If I knew of the problems Glenn had with his business I never would have signed a lease with him. He's a *** who gets off on taking advantage of college students, and if I wasn't currently living in his property I would have put my name on this comment.
