Verified Reviewer | Walpole, MassachusettsIncompetence, thieves, liars, rude. Almost killed my dog.
Took my GS in after she'd fallen chasing a stick a full steam. Jammed down her throat. I told the intake tech. I told the vet. "Oh, she will be fine." I asked for x-rays, suspecting a portion of the stick remained. "Oh, we don't recommend. It's not necessary." I asked for antibiotics. "She doesn't need any at this point." No lie.
A day and a half later, she is febrile, formed a "significant" abscess (as a REAL vet put it afterwards.) I take her back to Tufts. Go over my story AGAIN with the tech and the vet, who says to me, "Oh, she gagged?" RUFKM? She is an 85-lb 18-month-old German Shepherd with the energy of a velociraptor. No, she didn't *** They did NO vitals. NO bloodwork. Second vet said, "Well, I wasn't here Friday and I probably would've prescribed an antibiotic." They recommended a CT scan. I said no, bring me my dog. Well, don't you want the scan? Not here. Don't you want the antibiotics? Not from you. So done with their incompetence. I DEMANDED they bring me out my dog, as they seemed to suddenly want to hold her hostage for my money.
I told his poser of a vet the stick (1.5" diameter) entered through her mouth. She proceeds to tell me she did a "thorough" physical exam. And then asks, "Where did the stick enter, through her mouth or the outside?" RUFKM? First, I informed you FOUR times. Second, what about that "thorough" physical exam? Ya think you might see a gaping hole in her neck, moron?
Off to Metrowest in Natick. WONDERFUL, INFORMED and COMPASSIONATE. Didn't even charge me. Acknowledged the dangerousness of stick injuries and took me seriously. They arranged to have us admitted at Angell.
Here we are, 7k and three days in the hospital to remove (yes, you guessed it!) remaining stick lodged in her throat/neck.
IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, STAY AWAY FROM TUFTS! ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. They are INCOMPETENT to the nth degree. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER would I step foot in there and I advise you not to also!
