Trustmark VB withholding benefit payments!

I have had the worst experience with Trustmark Voluntary Benefits during my Disability period. First, all communications are anonymous and incognito!

You dont see any names or phone numbers of claim handlers at all! Secondly, my case was assigned to a controversial agent who used humiliation and intimidation against the claimant. No amount of doctors notes satisfied his demands! He kept demanding additional documentation from all healthcare providers, even if they were irrelevant to my Disability!

He was verbally abusive and kept CLOSING my case without informing me!

He caused me so much pain and anxiety by continually harassing me and Refusing all payments due for at least 4 months! I spent most of my disability time visiting physician offices and instructing them to fax more information to TM! He would still contact me demanding more details from specialists out of network who required special authorization from my Health Insurance and would not schedule appointments until a couple of months later! I feel they hire narcissistic sociopaths for traumatizing claimants and unlawfully withholding payments.

Do not waste your time and money on TM.

They only care about profiting from you! They dont care if you are drowning in debt!

Cons:
  • Claim handlers devoid of any empathy or respect
  • Refusing to pay claimants unlimited

Preferred solution: Payments long overdue for my disability claim. They should refund 20 years of premiums they charged me plus $20,000 they owe me!

User's recommendation: Avoid TM Voluntary Benefits at all costs!

7 Day Elimination Period

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Trustmark Insurance needs to be clear when they sell you their policies that you have a 7 day elimination period on short term disability claims.

The accident policy is basically worthless in that it pretty much only covers a hospital stay.

Also, disability does not cover work related injuries, even though the salesman specifically said it did.

I wasted 3 years worth of fees to learn I was entitled to "0" on a 6 day absence.

I would highly suggest that anyone who either has or is considering purchasing either the short term disability or accident policies to review the coverage and actually present scenarios and request an evaluation as to what you are entitled too. Speak with claims - not sales. Sales will tell you a totally different answer compared to claims.
