Six hours in hold

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - TRIWEST assigned a non-rheumatologist for my rheumatology referral despite a correct request.
  • - I spent six hours on hold with no resolution.

The military and retirees and their family members are newly subjected to TRIWEST Healthcare Alliance. I called my PCM to renew my referral to rheumatology to see the physician that I have been seeing for 5 years, and who obviously accepts Tricare.

My PCM on the base sent the correct request to TRIWEST. And then TRIWEST picked an another name out of the hat and assigned me that person. I tried to call to change it, because the Web site is useless. The first person I talked to after being on hold for an hour and 30 minutes said let me put you on hold while I pull up the account.

She never came back on the line. Called again. No answer and requested a call back. Someone called back and said she couldnt help me with the referral change and that she would transfer me to that department.

I spent 3 hours waiting on the phone. No one answered. In total, I spent 6 hours on hold listening to the awful music. Nothing is resolved.

I guess I dont get to see my rheumatologist, nor will I be able to continue obtaining my much needed medication. The person to whom they assigned me isnt even a rheumatologist!

SIX HOURS, people! SIX!

Terrible service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Phone wait times are very long, often over an hour.
  • - Currently on hold for about 1.5 hours.
  • - Past issues include being sent to collections.

I have had many issues with TriWest. Calling you can expect to wait for over an hour...

Right now I'm still on hold getting close to 1 and half hours... Keep getting told my call is important but after 30 mins I don't agree with them. In the past I've been sent to collections and had multiple issues.

As a disabled veteran I am at a lose. So sad.

User's recommendation: Answer the phone please

They don't do their job. I've had to pay for proceedures out of pocket.

They jerked me around in getting authorization to see my dermatologist who was treating me with embrel that cleared up my skin 100% which now over 2 years has past with out medication and or authorization and still nothing with the exception of lesions covering my body. The VA should fire them.

I am totally insulted by your inconsideration

AI Highlights
  • - Hold times to answer the phone were 20 minutes, then 30 minutes.
  • - The reviewer says you are rude and they may cancel their business with you.

I am so angry that Tri West thinks I should sit here waiting for 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone. How dare you make millions of dollars doing Veterans appointments and then treat us like we are not important enough for you to answer the phone.

How much money do you have to make before you decide to hire some phone operators. I am tempted to just cancel my business with you because you are so rude to me.I have now been waitin for 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone.

WHAT A HORRIBLE COMPANY YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

User's recommendation: do business with someone who is more considerate !!!

Horribly inept company!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - One star due to rating submission issue.
  • - TriWest canceled appointments, changed doctors, and did not notify.

One star selected because review would not submit without a rating selected, if a negative star was available I would have chosen it.

As a Marine combat veteran I have been referred through TriWest via the Veterans Choice Program because of medical complications requiring specialized care the VA could not cover. I seriously used to think that I would never deal with an organization that was as inept as the VA administrative side is but then came TriWest. The best advice I would give any veteran who has to go through the VCP with TriWest is to pay out of pocket or go bankrupt before you deal with this horribly unprofessional and terribly ill equipped organization.

Without my knowledge TriWest has - cancelled appointments, changed doctor's, clinics and dates, and set appointments I was not notified of. TriWest must be a minimum wage call center because their customer service representatives have no professional acumen - most are curt or rude, voice a considerable lack of knowledge of patients scheduling needs and protocol, and do not return calls when they say they will.

My examples from TriWest representatives in their words:

Appointment cancelled - "Oh, someone listed the last number of your last 4 wrong"

Appointment cancelled - "Well, there was a problem with your name"

Appointment cancelled - "Okay, the doctor your VA request was submitted for is a pediatric doctor"

Appointment cancelled - "We will call you back before the appointment" never called

Best response from a TriWest CSR - "That ain't my area of concern"

The best indictment against this organization was when I received a letter in the mail on Saturday 12 May for an appointment on Tuesday 08 May...and the letter was dated 09 May!!

  • - Wrong address and phone number were given for appointments.
  • - They were billed by urgent care and told to obtain a referral.

WHEN BEING REFERRED TO A TRIWEST/MILITARY--YOU WILL;

YOU GET THE WRONG ADDRESS.

YOU GET THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER FOR APPOINTMENTS.

YOU GET A BUNCH OF RUN AROUND B*llS*IT.

I GOT A BILL FROM URGENT CARE, THOUGHT I WAS HAVING A STROKE. ASKED TRIWEST WHY I GOT A BILL AS A PRIME.

WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE CALLED MY PROVIDER THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY TO ASK FOR A REFERRAL. LOWEST BIDDER EQUAL'S THE LOWEST HEALTHCARE. THE AIR FORCE SHOULD BE ASHAMED. BEEN TRYING TO GET MEDICAL ISSUES RESOLVED FOR OVER 3 MONTH'S NOW. INCOMPETENT, INCOMPETENT, INCOMPETENT SYSTEM FORCE DOWN OUR VET'S THROAT'S. WE EARNED THE RIGHT FOR BETTER HEALTH CARE AND UNITEDHEALTHCARE TRIWEST IS NOT THE ANSWER. TRI DON'T CARE
