Triple Crown Sports, West Va. ended a $475 tournament with no reason.

The Triple Crown Sports Baseball Tournament in Morgantown, West Va. 6/25 - 6/27 2010 ended the 12U tournament early stating there was a storm coming from 150 miles out. Each team paid them $475.00 to participate plus $3.00 entry fee per person to attend. The fields were playable as only a 5 minute shower had occurred during the day. 12 year old children do not understand why they are not allowed to play. The tournament directors only guarantee 3 games of play and only partially rebate the fee if less games are played. This is understandable during currently occurring inclement weather. But when it is sunny and 90 degrees without a cloud in the sky it is unacceptable to cancel the remainder of the tournament. Children do not understand what a "financial racket" is. Every 12U team was adversely affected and this is an injustice to the sport and the kids. I hope you will think twice before entering your baseball or softball team in any of Triple Crown Sports tournaments in this region.

Be careful with this outfit. We entered a tournament only then to find out we had to stay in their 'select hotels' or face a $550 fine.

The hotels charge a LOT more under TCS....where are these extra hotel fees going? Check out their website and especially read their terms regarding lodging, and the 'About us' page which I found quite off putting.

We attended the $$$ 5th Annual Don't Boot the Loot $$$ N. Branford, Connecticut tournament on July 19-21, 2013. Temperatures were in the 100's heat index were 107 degrees. The facilities had a strict no team coolers or water allowed on the premises. I find this appalling. They refused us from bring in a Frogg Toggs Cooling Towel for my son who was catching in a 107 degrees heat index.

We had to get a manager to finally agree to allow us just this one time to bring it into their facilities, only after a woman who worked for the Connecticut board of health and services told the manager they have to allow us to bring in the cooling towel in these heat advisory conditions.

All of their water fountains in their facility including the fountains outside each dugout were turned off. Garbage pails were constantly overflowing all over the floor. Relief pitching mounds had holes in them where as the pitches foot could actually fall through them. I have picture to prove all this. We were once at a Carl Ripken Tournament in Maryland, and had the same conditions, yet they provided all teams with coolers which contained water and made certain all players and coaches were hydrated. They put the players first not their POCKETS!

In addition to this they allow smoking in the entire facilitates and serve alcoholic beverages inside the facilities which are tailored to youth sports and, allowing people to drive home possibly under the influence with their children inside their vehicles. Yet, still prohibiting Team coolers with water and cooling rages for the teams.

Do yoursel :( f and your child a favor and stay away from this tournament facilities altogether!
