Tri Pointe Homes Home Review from San Juan Capistrano, California

We bought a new home in Orange County, Ca from Tri Pointe. The floor plan and location are great. The quality of craftsmanship followed by the customer service is awful. We have been in our home over 8 months and have put in over 20 service requests. Items not properly installed include tile flooring being layed unevenly, installing broken cabinets with poor patch jobs, light switches and electrical upgrades being placed in the wrong spot, water in electrical conduit and issues with paint. The customer service experience has been extremely stressful and disheartening. The contractors they have hired to "fix" things have done mediocre work, and in one instance did not fix the problem but did manage to chip our quartz kitchen countertop.

I hear you! Same experience in Orange County.

Lots of service requests, some minor, some major. No quality control over subcontractors - industry norm, no different than other cheap builders. Few things, like squeaking subfloors, we are leaving alone - do not want to lift and cut carpet.

Kitchen cabinets are beyond cheap - pressed particle board - vendor tried cover up - still cracking, but because 1 year warranty is up for fit and finish - no action. We would not have bought if we knew how many times they would have to come back - first year almost weekly, not exaggerating.
