Extremely rude customer service. Stay FAR FAR away from this company! Won't help to resolve a very simple problem.
User's recommendation: Absoulty do not but their products!
Bad support
I used to liked TrendNet products, until now. I've been trying to get a mesh router to configure, but it won't work unless you have the following:
1.
A DHCP internet connection - don't expect this to work if you have a business connection with a static IP.
2. A smart phone instead of a laptop or a PC, since the device is too stupid to work with them.
3.
Don't waste your time contacting sales - I've been in IT for 34 years and they kept telling me that i was reading the wrong screen. I just needed to hook up the router to my modem (again, i have a firewall and no DHCP).
Tech support just keeps asking for your phone number, email address, and if you're connected to a modem!!!!!
User's recommendation: Don't bother calling tech support

The company refused to refund money. 1) I first complained with their 90 day period.
They sent a replacement unit. After months of frequent daily shutdowns. I sent unit back and got another replacement unit. Had the same issue.
After months of frequent daily shutdowns. Their answer was to send it back and they'd send another one.
2) It should be noted that each time I returned a unit it cost $12 in shipping, and you have to go 7-10 days without internet. I asked for a refund and they stated they don't give refunds
I purchased a TEW-827DRU/A H/W V20R router in June 2018 for $165. Since then (it's now Dec.
2019) I've had to return 3 routers because they don't work. The routers have a history of "Random shut offs". It costs me $23 each time I return it.
The first time I returned it was in Sept, 2018. Despite not being able to work for the purpose intended, and having had 4 different units sent to me, they don't offer refunds.
I had a similar situation with one of their wireless modems.
USE NETGEAR, ASUS OR LINKSYS. Please visit this site which reviews these type of devices and you'll see that TrendNet routers have a history of dropping signals.
Their customer service is a 1/2 notch above awful, their products don't work, and they don't stand behind their products. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Preferred solution: Full refund
Router Installation Review
Worst router ever! Spent $150 on the router and then spent $2000 of my time trying to get it to work. Complete f&%king waste of time and money.
Awful customer service and buggy products
How is Trendnet still in business?? They have awful customer service and terribly buggy products.
I've had two of their wireless routers (last one was the TEW-812DRU. It's been running for a month, and about 10 times or more per day all the connections drop and it stops routing Internet traffic. Rebooting restores the Internet routing but only for about an hour. Customer support has chewed up hours and hours of my time doing ridiculous things that don't lead anywhere.
They are obviously trained to just spin wheels, waist time in hopes the customer will just get exhausted and quit. Trendnet is an unbelievably bad company.
TrendNet Products Suck
TrendNet wireless adapter TEW-423PI is terrible. Drops connection every 5 minutes. Using with Windows XP and Dell Inspiron 530.
Company's website has bad driver and utility downloads and instructions are incorrect. Email to their company support (provided in their Read Me file) bounced (March 2010).
Stay away from TrendNet, unless you are a computer tech or shop that wants to make lots of money by charging your customers to fix problems :)
I can't believe this site really requires me to enter at least 100 words - so much for getting to the point. Well here are 100 words.

I saw your picture and assumed you referred to the type of router for woodworking and general shop use ... guess I'm behind the times, again. (I'd rather have the shop router than the computer router anyhow)
Me too. I have a nice table model router that has served flawlesslesly since my father bought it (used) in the early 60's ... I'll use it to carve up even this computer when I can't stand any more cyber stuff.
