Never able to even use the treadclimber a piece of junk
I am completely unsatisfied with the way you have handled my account. I want to return the treadclimber and I want a refund of my first payment. Let me explain a little of my situation and complete waste of my time trying to resolve it. My account number is 661****-*. I ordered my treadclimber on 03-26-2014, everything was approved and my order placed. On 04-02-2014 my treadclimber was delivered, so far so good. My husband and I went out of town on 04-03-2014, when we returned we put the treadclimber together, this was on 04-13-2014. Well I could not get the tread to stay on straight and come to find out one of the bolts that was sent was bent, came from the factory that way. I have kids and work full time so the first opportunity I got to call and email you about this defect was on 04-22-2014. I spoke with and corresponded with John Wade, who was great. John had me send pictures and talked to the techs for me. John was able to locate the problem and advised me that he would send out a new bolt. Again no problems at this point. On 04-30-2014 I I received the bolt and on my next day off, 05-06-2014, I replaced the bolt. I have yet to use my treadclimber and on 05-05-2014 I made my first $50.00 payment. After getting the new bolt in place and excited I could finally start working out I noticed the tread still moving over to the side and began to shred. I called you and you made sure that I had the bolt tightened which I made sure and it still was not working. After talking with you again on 05-06-2014 and being very displeased at this point you advised me that you would send out a new tread and a technician to fix my treadclimber. I was advised that I would get a call from a technician about the time that my new tread came in. Well on 05-14-2014 I received the new tread and no phone call from a technician. On 05-21-2014 I called you asking why the technician had not called as I still have not bee able to use my treadclimber. You advised me that you would have someone get a hold of me with in 24 hours. On 05-22-2014 I received an email and and phone message stating that the technician would be at my home on 06-02-2014 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. I rearranged my schedule and waited on 06-02-2014 and no one ever showed up. I am completely disappointed in your company and products. I am done with them! Please send someone out to take apart the treadclimber and send it back. It has been two months and the machine is just sitting here completely unused I DO NOT want it anymore. Please refund my money as I have never been able to use it and I will not be paying for a machine I can not use. I have wasted enough time and energy on trying to rectify this. I will figure out some other way of working out. Please contact me when someone will be here to take this hunk of metal out of my house. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

TreadClimber® TC5 by Bowflex
I spent $1100 to buy the TreadClimber by Bowflex and they advertise that if you don't like it you can return it. I didn't like the machine because is badly designed. I paid $231.00 for a service to assemble the machine and after they finished they took a way the big boxes the machine was shipped. When I call them to get a Return Authorization Number they told me that I have to buy my own boxes, put it in and ship it back to their Portland, OR., facility in order to get credit. However, to buy boxes of that size and then ship it back to Oregon will cost me more than $550.00.

This is a very common complaint for Bowflex. I worked there in customer service, and it was always a sore spot for customers calling in.
It *is* in the fine print, but when customers are excited about their purchase, it's the last thing they are paying attention to. They totally know this. I quit working there because of the terrible way they did business.
You're not alone on this one. It's misleading and they use it as a way to reduce returns.
