I am very sorry to learn about your experience with us. Travel Advantage Network has agreements with multiple third party sales companies. Travel Advantage Network a scam!

Travel Advantage Network, TAN should be investigated and put out of business. Once signed up for their scam that they sell, they continue to scam you.

Run for your life if you are approached by them. Do not sign anything, just run. Their sales pitch is slick and before you know it they have you signing papers and then when you realize what happened, you can't get out of the contract. I tried to make it work and when I needed to travel to Puducah , KY.,I called them for plane reservations.

They didn't know where Paducah was. I had to tell them.

But they knew were to mail their bill to me. Stay away from them.

TAN is a rip off

Do not even waste your time going to one of the invitations from Travel Advantage Network promising a free 3 day vacation as bait just for listening to the presentation.

Nevermind the fact that I feel I was misled and lied to about how easy it would be to book a condo for a discount rate, but dealing with these people is like dealing with the mafia, once you get in, you never get out.

I have never used the *** thing one time, and they are still not satisfied with just keeping the $4000 I have already paid them over the last three years and calling it even, they are refusing to let me out of the contract.

My advice is that this is a horrible company that makes it easy to fall for their high pressure sales tactics, and does not even attmpt to deliver the product.

They are a scam and rip off

What my husband and I thoght to be a great vacation option from Travel Advantage Network (TAN) has been nothing but a scam and rip off. For 1 year we have paid for this package never receiving the "so called" free cruise that was used to lure us to purchase their package.

Now we are being told we owe them money for monthly service fees. No notifications have been sent and only a phone call with a rude agen informing us that we must pay.

To top that we were never told that a loan was done for the package. To date no one has called to address our concerns...DO NOT DO IT YOU WILL REGRET IT!!

This scam has been going on for years and years by convicted felon Melissa Samei. The names of her other fake companies are Blue Vida Travel, Travel Network in Dallas, Travelbridge(shut down by the attorney general of Texas),American Voyager Travel(arrested, served time).

Watch out Melissa Samei is armed and dangerous. The whole travel scam is a hoax to cheat gullible people so she can take all of their money!!!

Add us to the list of disgruntled "customers"! We have been paying out since March '08.

I thought it was my husband's expense, but come to find out, he knew nothing about it. We have cancelled, OBVIOUSLY, and have requested a refund which we do not expect to receive.

Be careful about GREAT FUN, which is a subsidiary under the same umbrella of this scam network. My husband picked it up somehow when he stayed at Days Inn.

Does anyone know any good lawyers who would take on a case like this!??

BAIT AND SWITCH

Travelers Advantage, or affinion travels services, or whatever name that want to use, out side than a regular contact person. They need to be investigated, for devisive practices, for the start and misleading the general public to get their credit card numbers.

Attorney Generals please step in on this one. They are allowing telemarketing companies to mislead the consumer, and they, travelers advantage are allowing the companies to do that, as long as they get those credit cards. Do what you can do, even if it means lie and cheat, just get those credit card numbers.

When I spoke with a supervisor about the misleading of a representative who said he worked with travelers advantage, and I got his name and id number, the supervisor stated it would not make a difference because they never kept the information of employess who worked at telemarketing companies, I canceled my membership. To BS for me.

Please count me in. This company has literally stole my money.

Promised all kinds of family vacation excursions for the plan price. When you go to book for the summer months, Nothing available. at best I ever saw was a 1br, 2br. What family can go on vacation and stay in a 1br with kids.

I have been paying 98.00 a month for 4 years and was able to book 1 vacation the first year I purchased package, with a ridiculous call ahead timeframe notice. stallionrwh@***.com

Count me in on lawsuir. I've told the person who had called me to collect the deposit they failed to take out on time.

That I am no longer in a financial position to pay for vacations I will not be able to take. I am at risk of losing my home an car. But they still keep taking 30 bucks every month out of my account causing over draft after over draft after over draft. Another 37 dollars I don't have to spare when I have my 90 year old mother inlaw in my home an an a handicap son.

We too have been scammed by TAN. We have used it just oncds and want to cancel.

My wife spoke to some one today who said we couldn't cancel with an "outstanding maintenance fee" from last year Sven though I had called them last year and told them to cancel our account. So, according to them I can only cancel if I pay the maintenance fee for last year that I had already called a d cancelled the account. See a problem? They lie about cancelling it then *** tinue to charge you a maintenance feegfeeg, if you have a maintenance fee you can't cancel and they keep charging the maintenance fee and on and on.

I had a similar problem with an alarm company and went to the Better Business Bureau a d filed a complaint with them. In that case you could cancel but only during one week in the month of December. Results? The State of Ohio's Attorney General's Office then became involved and I received a refund and cancellation.

Took about ninety days start to finish. BUT, if someone starts a Class action suit I am all in.

These people tell any lie to get your money. Southworthrn@***.com

Brad owns ASPPM, the maintenance arm, Brad owns TAN, who ASPPM depends on for business, and Brad owns Vantage Resort Realty, which solicits property owners to market and manage their investment home.

Vantage leases the property to TAN, TAN pays ASPPM to maintain/clean the property...and guess where all the money flows to? Yep, Brad himself.

This whole thing is a convoluted scheme devised and set up to milk as much money as possible from as many people as they can.

We are Satisfied RCI and Wyndham 35 year owners. There are complaints about them also, but you do GET your vacations each year as long as you plan ahead.

As with all timeshare, check out the Resort before buying and buy where you plan to go!!!! No need for unwanted surprises, and if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!

Who Will File Class Action w/Me on Travel Advantage Network

I've had a 17 week vacation package with TAN since 2005. My husband died and I never used one week's vacation.

I didn't know about the yearly fee either, although, when I called about my package, I was told it was among the information in the papers I signed. At that time, the fee was $300 per yr. They inactivated my account and are charging me $150 per year while it's inactivated but it will be retroactive once I activate my account. How can they make us pay for something while they do nothing for the money?

I think we shoud be able to file a class action law suit. We are not receiving anything in return for the membership fees. As far as I'm concerned, they are stealing money from us. We already paid for everthing in the package.

I once asked where the fees go and one lady told me that it was for taxes on the properties.I said, "I don't own the properties and you were paid well for my package." Next, her supervisor said it was for maintenance on memberships and for cleaning the condos etc. I was in business, too, and there is no maintenance for having my name in their computer as a member. Does anyone know of an attorney who would take our case? I think the Attorney General's office would have something to say about how the consumer is being ripped off.

Please leave your info so you can be contacted, if you're interested. I'm going to look into this further. My package cost me $4,500.00 cash.

You do the math; 2005 until 2010 @ $150 per yr, and it will continue...that is what I'm paying for sitting at home with my TAN package in my lap. Thanks.

I have a Plan with Tan and have not used it since I bought it due to current circumstances at the time, which have now changed and want out of it. I have 12 weeks and used 1 of them and do not plan on using any more since the locations available are of no interest to me nor did I have a good experience with the vacation I did use.

I bought in 2015 and do not want anything to do with the company, the property I stayed in was mediocre and the advertising for the vacations do not add up to the reality.

Count me in for a class action. Email: kwani77@***.net

There prices are higher than my contract states and nowhere does it state that they can change any of the prices with the exception of the Annual Fee.

We all have been taken. Please include me in as well if it is possible.

I feel really ***, my original plan cost $9,100 for 22 weeks and $369/year in Maintenance fee. I put $1200 down and financed the rest through Mid Atlantic after paying for two years they renegotiated my rate down and then sent people out to sell me a premium plan. I didn't go for it the second time. This whole thing was pressure sales and a lot of bait and switch.

Travel Advantage Network is holding me hostage!

I signed up for a travel package with TAN fresh out of college (when I was making less than $20,000 a year). After 4 years of payments I finally paid off the whole package.

I was under the impression that after the package was paid off I was only required to pay annual service fees IF I used a vacation week. However, I just found out that if I don't continue paying annual fees (which increase each year), then I forfeit my package. So, I can either pay $356.00 for NOTHING this year if I don't have time to travel OR I can forfeit $5000.00 worth of vacation weeks.

Doesn't it seem like if you pay for something it should be yours? I don't know which makes me more upset - the amouont it is costing me or the fact that nobody told me upfront.

They are liars and very good at it. What kind of vacation is it where you have to provide your own sheets?

All I can say beware of the seller. It is still hard to believe we fell for this ***.

Live and learn but they do not have our credit card and will not get anymore. $3000.00 is the cost of this educational lesson!!!!!!!!!

Guest

That's the crux of this shady company, after you've paid off your package for all those vacations...if you don't pay the service provider an annual fee, all those vacations you paid all those thousands for are little more than air.

And despite what dookieshoot has said, the internet is littered with consumers complaining about TAN's collection practices, and how they won't budge on the annual service fee. They will gladly cancel your package after you've paid off all those thousands, but you can't "reopen" it. And you can't use those vacations you paid for either.

Be very wary of this company. They'll say anything to get you to sign and give them money...once they have that, you find out the real truth.

Guest

tan will work with you with your annual service fee.....especially if you dont travel....i just did it.....you just have to ask.....and you can always open up your package back up if you dont pay...it's a decent company...u just have to negotiate what you want

Picture of "condo" in daytona did not match

Last spring we used our first TAN vacation to Daytona beach. The picture on line before the trip [which has been changed since] showed ocean front.

Not what we saw. The thing was...the ocean was there but across the 4 lane A1A highway. If you stood at the edge of the walkway overlooking the garbage cans below you could catch a glimpse. This hole in the wall had a spectacular view of two green toilets and bathtubs that were in the front and side yard of the neighbors.

We walked up the steps past the rusted, jagged chain link fence then avoided hitting our heads on the rusted air conditioner into this one room/one person hole in the wall and we just started laughing! The see thru towels they provided was a joke. You walked across the highway to get your clean towels. No room service.

The pool that was shown in the picture over looking the ocean was...across the highway. And it was under repair.

Need I say more?

TAN- harassment is an understatement

I recently signed up for a chance to win a smart car at a local mall. A few weeks later I receive a call telling me I still have a chance to win the car but I did win a three day cruise- hesitant I agree to make an appointment.

My wife and I went to TAN and sat through what was to be 45 minute presentation. Two hours later I am telling the people I have a noon meeting and we are not interested and so they dropped the price from around $36,000 to $12,000. By this time I am getting pissed off. I receive a call from work (there is a god.) I tell them again I have to go and push my meeting out so I can make it.

15 minutes later someone else comes over and takes my wife and I to another room where we will get our 3 day vacation certificate for which I paid for in time and frustration.

The dude in this room tries to sell us a package for $4000.00. WOW what a deal-- NOT. How did we go from $36,000 to $4000.00-- finely, I left..

The pressure was on for a great sale- the dude who talked to us at first used all the same tactics as a seedy used car salesman. What he didn't know is I am the one all used car salesman loath. Cheap and thrifty who can go on many vacations for half the price. Oh, by the way, I did my homework before going so I knew they were shady.

I dislike all of you TAN people-- don't call me again--- I suggest anyone reading this look at the cars in the mall and walk right on by.

My question is I had received the same call about me winning a trip to the Bahamas for 4 days and 3 night's. I went to the long presentation and have received the paper stating that I still have my free trip.

So my question is... Is it a hoax, will I seriously be going to the Bahamas or will I be taken of my money??

:( My husband and I just took our first TAN vacation at Myrtle Beach Resort. We were VERY disppointed.

Now that I am reading about all the other disappointed consumers I am sick to my stomach. I just learned that once we have paid off our vacation package, we still must pay a yearly fee. These people are thiefs and getting away with it.

The room at Myrtle Beach resort was so blah.

Two pictures in the whole place. Old discolored carpet. The bed squeaked, the walls were paper thin. It was the worst accommodations that I have ever stayed in.

The shower curtain was moldy. The refrigerator took an entire day to get cold. It makes me think that there was no one in the unit prior to our stay. What burns my butt is the fact that we wanted a Sat.

to Sat. stay but was told that was not available. We went with friends who also stayed at the Myrtle Beach Resort. There places were beautiful, clean and a much nicer location within the resort than ours.

Since our friends stayed Sat. to Sat. we went down early with them and they were able to get us a day pass to stay at the resort (for free). We stayed at a hotel that night, checked out Sunday morning and went straight to the TAN realtor.

We thought we could at least get a pass to get into the resort until our condo was ready. That way we could hang out at the beach with our friends. What a nightmare. TAN would not give us access into the resort until heck-in.

Unbelievable and downright lazy on TANs part. Also, we had to pay our own parking fee for the week. It was only $5.00 but it is a matter of principle. Our friends did not have to pay a dime once they checked in.

TAN just keeps racking up the $$$. As far as the Myrtle Beach Resort is concerned, the place was decent, the people who worked there treated TAN members like they had a disease...maybe we do....if stupidity is a disease.

Needless to say, I am very skeptical about my next vacation. I am thinking we need to use them up ASAP and move on with our life to avoid additional yearly fees.

Guest

Yep! Same thing happened to me!

NO ONE to contact ahead of time, but you have to send $100 only to be REFUSED. The whole thing is a scam and needs to be corrected!

Guest

Wait till you try to use your 'free vacation'. Did you realize for that 'free vacation' they offer you- a $100.00 deposit is required and sent to who knows where.

Plus you'll never end up going because everything is always blacked out. Sure if you want to go to FLA in August or Nova Scotia in January...

Travel Advantage Network(TAN) And why you get trashy places?

I own 2 condos in Ocean City Maryland. TAN contacted me and long story short, I went to their office to check this rental "deals" out.

They offered me for my 3 bedroom 2 full bath condo that is one block from the beach, $12K to rent it to them for 6 months from May 1st to October 30th for eight people (8). Now here why you get the shaft. $12,000.00 for six months it is actually $10,560.00 after their fee and commission. That is $1,760 per month, $440 per week, $63 per day or $21 per room or $7.00 (yes, Seven dollars) per person per day.

I have to pay the insurance and water used by those eight people that is about $700-800 for six months and a few other bills.

I rent my condos for $1000-**** a week. And if you don't believe the condition of my condos I will be glad to send you photos. I have families that return year after year and I have only good comments.I want nothing to do with TAN.

Now you understand, you get what you pay for. thexterminator4p@***.com

Yes I agree, TAN is irresponsible, as I was also an owner in the TAN Network for 2 years. Everything is smoke and mirrors with the company.

I referred at least 4 different people to my agent with no compensation. By the way all that I asked for was a second peak week for my use, Understand they give the owners two weeks back, one off season the second during peak season. Now this would have cost them very little if anything at all. This past season the first tenant broke into my LOCKED cabinet and removed/stole all the items and broke a dresser.

I advised my rep who advised me that it would be taken care of at least with a gift card and that was fine just replace the missing items and don't allow the tenants back, oh by the way the did not tell me names, and all was forgiven Now here I am in Jan of 2012 and receiving a letter that "TAN does not accept responsibility that are not under their control." Also that the matter should have been reported to the police and insurance company. Well I guess they want their own tenants arrested instead of handing it in house.

I can go on and on but the bottom line if the can't take care of the small issues how are the going to take care of the big ones. All I can say is property owners beware.

Thanks for all of your comments. I was looking for employment after being laid off from my banking job.

I completed an application and sent my resume to a posting online, It was TAN.

I did some research and found this site. I am reluctant to even call them back.

Guest

TAN is not so bad but its also not luxurious or better than home for most people. I prefer to go away and stay in a luxurious place with amenities I wouldn't have at home, seems to me TAN is "common" but its cheap and we usually don't spend much time in our room anyway.....

I haven't had bugs, yes its been dusty, dirty smelly and missing some items also no hot water x 2 days and lock broken to get into place upon arrival late one night, my husband climbed over gate and was able to get in, but couldn't take luggage or belongings til morning. they usaully arrive fairly soon, but why should we have to call them? if everything is right to begin with, no reason!I've been member for several years, mostly use excess inventory, which is good you always have that, even after vacation weeks are used up.

200.00 for the week, not bad, most rooms nightly are 100+ good and bad with tan. if i buy again it will be luxurious, like Hilton or Wyndam resorts.

Guest

We went to Gatlinburg in late 2009. The condo was dirty.

We had to sweep the floor and mop because it hadn't been cleaned in awhile.

We also had to scrub the sinks and tubs before we could use them. We had to move to a motel when we discovered roaches, and we TAN refused to give our money back.

Guest

:( What is up with the TAN site being under construction and going "live" in so many hours, which they keep changing? This doesn't look like a good sign to me.

Nobody takes down a site for days and days on end. They wait until the new site is ready to put up.

I have a feeling something shady is going on, or that they are going out of business.

:(

They are hacking into bank acct

I never signed up for travel advantage or complete home so why am I getting 10 checks in the mail, plus I have had to change my acct number because they are taking out money from my bank. How did they get my acct info?I have had my debit car number cancelled and I ordered another one which took 2 weeks.

How can I cancel if I do have a membership with this Travel Advantage. I am frustrated and dont know what to do....HELP!

BTW

they apprantly are under different names so buyer beware. I am so wary about emailing them the less interacting that I have with them then my personal info is more secure.

Monique,

You should be worried. First, forget about the money you paid already -- it's gone.

You'll find that most resorts listed and available are poorly rated on tripadvisor.com. It will also cost you at least $250 to book a 1BR (more for more bedrooms or high seasons).

Add the yearly fee and you're paying as much as you would anyway, unless you take several vacations in a year.

I'm scrapping it next year. I still have seven vacations left and I'm simply going to not pay next year and hope for the best.

I signed up for travel advance a year ago and have not used any of my vacation yet. Hearing all these stories about this so call business is starting to worry me.

It seems that there should be some kind of law against false advertisment. If you specifically want to git and a condo that they view on there inventory, and is tricked into believe that, that is what your gitting I would look into some kind of reimbusrement. I'm glad I read the comments on this site. Know I now to record all phone call in regards to booking my vacation specify what condo they view that I would like to have.

Take picture everyone, also it would be helpful to take a camcorder along to show your condo just in case you want to use it against them in court.

They better pray my stay want be as *** as yours because if it does they'll be in for a ride dealing with me. :( :( :( :(

if you are that concerned you should contact the company directly, maybe someone stole your identity and it has nothing to do with the company your referring to.

Tan is a rip off

We have used some of the vacations but it is sooo hard to book anything (I just finished trying to book something in VT for Jan/Feb or June/July/August & they have ONE place to choose from), everything is "peak season" and there is so little to choose from. We've been disappointed in the quality of the condos as it isn't what they advertise, either.

We never, never would have done it knowing what we know now. We feel ripped off. We are trying hard to use our weeks. I will say that we complained once and they gave us a free week, but now we just have one more to use and we can't get anything worth going for (and paying the addition $300 - $500 w/added fees)!

We are considering cancelling & just losing our money.

It's been a real disappointment.

I agree with your comments 100%. Lousy customer service-lousy selection and the condos are not deluxe by any means. Sorry we joined and wasted that money.

Travel Advantage Network(TAN) Resorts ????

We signed up with this company three years ago. Seemed like a good deal and the resort pictures we were shown looked very nice.

To date we have booked three vacations. The first place we booked was in Hilton Head . The place was filthy and run down. We had to find another condo.

Since then we have booked two others and they have been in similar condition.

Yet to find a so called "Resort" that TAN marketed to us. The only positive is the support staff have been helpful in resolving most of the issues;however, there should not have been a need to invoke their assistance had the places we booked looked like those shown during the marketing presentation

I have a 10 week package that we bought in 2005 for $4500... will sell for much cheaper.

email paul@***.net... we just want to get rid of the package for whatever we can get

Guest

I have only used two of my eight vacations and we bought them 7 years ago. Life just didn't allow us to use them.

Just got back from Palm Springs. I booked in January for a March vacation.

Yes I paid the peak season fee of $30.00 per day, however I knew that when buying the vacations. Customer service is excellent and the room was great! If you really pay attention during the seminar, you will not have any surprises when booking.

I have 29 VIP weeks for sale. If interested, please email mybelle22@***.com. Willing to negotiate on price

after using only two of our vacations over several years I was able to cancel with no refund just to get rid of the $19.90 a month they were still charging me.

We did take two vacations. One to Ocean City Maryland which was in an efficient apartment with a Murphy bed.

Another to the Poconos where the Inn was very nice, but had no cooking facilites at all.

We could neve find another one we liked. I am just glad to get rid of that $19.90 a month for nothing.

How were you able to get rid of the rest with them? Please let me know. Joe.

I have 7 vacations I would like to sell to someone for a decent price. Spent $4500, but am willing to negotiate a price.

To "Beyond Annoyed" - just search for the Boycott Sundance Vacations Facebook Page. There are MANY consumers who have joined together to help one another out in their ordeals with this ridiculous company. That's a page where consumers share information about Travel Advantage Network, including information on how to effectively deal with this shady company.

Guest

I am beyond aggravated with this company! I have had this vacation package for 7-8 years and have NEVER been able to use it.

They are always completely sold old even with 90+ days notice of request. I seriously regret every penny I ever spent on this vacation club.

It makes me sick to my stomach! Wish there was a way I could get rid of it for good!!!

Travel Advantage Network-yes it is a scam

I wish I would've seen this website prior to going in for our 'free vacation'. Normally I refuse to spend any money we weren't planning on spending without walking away first. We still have not had our 'free vacation' scheduled as they have not responded to our messages or letters. TAN claims they are not responsible for the setup or contract for the vacation and cannot be held responsible for not receiving what THEY promised.

The deal was just waaay too good to pass up for the 20 week vacation package. with 6 kids we knew for sure someone would be using this. Just to schedule any week at all takes forever on the phone and they will not give or take any information except for payment for the 'extra' costs no matter where you plan to go. There will always be extra costs because it seems to be peak season every where every day.

They got me for a couple thousand, get out, leave, don't do it. Now i am having a difficult time getting them to cancel my subscription to the excess vacation yearly fees.

-cleveland ohio, disappointed

Would anyone like to buy 15 weeks? If so contact Danielle at bubby_2525@***.com

Guest

Also got ripped for approx. 12K

Guest

Went through same ***. We booked another vacation time share with them in exchange for 2 TAN weeks.

With all the extra fees and no availability we were not able to book.

Lost the weeks even though we were not told there was a time limit to use them. Hard to use them when NOTHING decent is available to book and all seasons are prime season

Guest

I have 8 weeks that I would like to get rid off. Email me at spanforme0527@***.com. Very cheap.

If anyone is interested in buying a Note for 15 trips for 6000, I m interested in transferring my note. We have had a Salary decrease as well as a child since we purchased this package and it turns out we can't afford to continue with the plan.

My email address if interested is jolene7712@***.com. It would be 4500 and then you are responsible for reminder of the Note.

Totaling 7000 over time with payments.

We put in the 4500 already. We just want back what we spent.

Guest

Ive used a friends Excess Inventory from Tan and have had a good experience each time (went to Florida and Missouri) would love to be a member but cant afford the plan I was offered..Using the excess I could take a few trips a year..Nice clean and comfortable units

Guest

I have 4 weeks never used that I'm willing to sell cheap.

Guest

I'm in Cincinnati and have had my TAN since 2008. I have never used any of my vacation days and don't intend to.

Just like many of you, I was sweet talked into the program which is a total nuisance now. I think I still have the paperwork with me.

If anyone is interested to buy, I will sell it to you as it's transferable/saleable. Just email me at aperfectworld2@***.com
