A Bunch of Liars

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They make promises they cannot keep. Lie about the services they provide.

They lie about charges and fees. They won't return phone calls or emails. Then they say they tried to reach you.

They say their software is compatible with our companies' services and then say I guess we're not compatible. They say you can cancel without charges or fees and then charge you to cancel.

Liars, and harassers of small businesses

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

These sales reps continuously called our business for over a year, after being told no many times, continued to harass us for their business. They tell you they can low ball your processing, however, they lie about other companies to make their sales pitches.

They are extremely pushy, and make you feel bad if you don’t use them. One even stooping as low as saying “you don’t care about your business enough”. Unbelievably poor tactics. Horrible sales conduct, and unprofessional.

Stop harassing small businesses to make a dollar. No means no.

Unoprofessional and shady business proctice.

Beware TRANSNATIONAL PAYMENTS merchant service, they make you sign a long-term contract, specified in term and condition that they do not disclose to you at the time of the signing and then charge you a high fee to cancel the contract.

The sale rep intentionally made me sign the agreement without giving me the complete contract, only sent to me weeks later.

This is what has happened to me and my small business in Tampa FL.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them with their deceiving business practice, there are many reputable and honest companies out there.

P.S.

If you look online there are hundreds of reviews for the same issue against Transnational.

Stay Away- Horrible Company

This is the worst merchant services company in the world. Stay away from them.

Their reps lie about their cancellation fees and they charge outrageous "other fees" which they don't bother to tell you about when they are trying to suck you in. They give terrible customer service, don't return phone calls, and provide no assistance. The rep who sold me on and lied about the service disappeared after telling me how great of customer service he was going to provide. I don't understand how merchant service companies like this can get away with all the crap that they pull.

Stay away and don't go near this company ever!! I'd give them zero stars if I could do it.

Over three years ago a past office worker signed up for a credit card scanner for 25.00 per month. When that office was closed, so was this account.

We never used it, not once. For a year there were no debits, but 15 months ago, they started to debit from our checking account again and this time the amounts were different each month so we were not able to do a stop payment. We are a small company and they have taken 2000.00 out of our account I have been calling them constantly to get a copy of our contract and tell them we never used this service and it stopped for a year.

I was informed at that time they don't keep contracts that long, if in fact we had a contract at all. I found these withdrawals while doing an audit in our company books.

Unfortunately the last person thought it was something we used. Last month I filled out a form to close the account on my end so no more would come out.

Two days after signing, another 92.95 came out, so a total of $185.90 came out last month alone for nothing!! We are currently doing a fraud investigation with out bank.

Worse sales people ever!!!!!!!

They would not accept no for a answer. After telling the rep that called me several times that I was not interested the "manager" got on line and just kept harping on me.

I kept telling him that the owner of this company has several other companies and he has all his transactions tied to the same processer and would not be happy with me even considering changing!!!! He acted like he would be doing me a favor and that he was trying to help me out.

He was thinking about the commission he would get with a sale I would NEVER use this company after the experience I just had even if they would give it to me free. You could tell it was a "boiler room" operation.

HARD LINE SALES: TNP (Trans National Card Processing)

I am a plumber & own a medium sized business. We were cold called by TNP & the salesman just talk & talk, they don't listen.

After a 2nd & third call (I told them I wanted to do more research & check them out more) they were rude & pushy. These sales people (the 2 Mikes that I spoke with) didn't listed & overcome objections that were not the concerns that I stated. Their equipment up front was not too pricey, but too hard of a sell. NO WAY, that I will sign up with them.

I have used Square for years (yes the fees are a bit higher), I get paid quickly and have NEVER HAD A PROBLEM! Stick with what you know.

For a thousand dollars a year of potential savings why take a big fat question mark into my business. Business owners have enough to take care of without dealing with pushy cold calling salespeople.

BEWARE!! This company is fraudulent.

Deceptive salesmen, hidden fees and NO customer service. You cannot cancel unless you pay them $500.00. There is an automatic renewal and they will never let you out of this contract!

I have 2 accounts and they charged my business checking accounts almost $1000.00. RUN!!

I also had an account with Transnational. I had the exact same experience as this writer.

Please, please....stay away from this company. I was told it would be $250 to close my account even though I had had the account for over 2 years. I was not changing to another firm...I was closing my business due to retirement.

The representative is very genuine and caring until you call the ask for help in arbitrating the charges. They truly do tell you "There is nothing I can do".

Transnational Bankcard stole my money

I am a small business owner and used Transnational Bankcard to process credit cards. More than 1 1/2 years after I closed my account with Transnational, they went into my bank account and literally stole a large sum of money from my business account.

I did not give them authorization to do this. They are claiming that at some point when I did have an account with them a client disputed a charge. I was never given an opportunity to dispute what this "client" asserted. As soon as I became aware of Transnational attempting to steal money from my account, I put a stop on my account.

Unfortunately Transnational is quite sneaky. They were able to gain access by changing their merchant id number.

Please run from this company.

Holding Money

This Comany is a fraud. They signed my company up to process credit card transactions with a 10% reserve on our account.

After we processed $150,000 and they have $15,000 along with another $15,000 that they never funded to my account, then they call me and say I need more documentation to continue with the account. They're a complete fraud. Contact the Attorney General in the state of Illinois at the address below.

They act as if they're trying to hlp me rectify the situation but from reading the reviews posted on this site i understand that a legal battle is the only thing thats going to get me my money back.

Misrepresentation of fees, length of contract and cancellation fee.....

I was hounded by phone and in person by a smooth talking, chart wielding salesperson from Transnational Bankcard, guaranteeing me huge savings if I signed up with his company. I have lost hundreds of dollars because I am now paying 5% for every transaction processed due to astronomical fees.

When I figured out that I was in fact not saving money but spending more I called my salesperson to cancel my account only to find out that I could not cancel because I was in a 3 year contract. I was never told that I was entering in a 3 year contract. No where in the paperwork that I signed does it indicate a 3 year contract nor is there any mention of a $500 cancellation fee. I never saw the 16 page document outlining the terms and conditions of my contract nor did my salesperson feel it was important to tell me about it.

I only have 1 year left on my lease, I don't even know if I will be in business for 3 more years. There is no way I would have signed this contract knowing I was entering into a 3 year contract! I feel this salesperson completely misrepresented his company solely to get the sale. Buyers beware, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I should have just stayed with Square. Shame on me for not doing my homework.

Check out all of the different websites, siting similar situations. We all can't be lying!

Deceptive Contract

TransNational hasn't really provided me with the help that I had hoped, using their credit card system. I have been on this program since September and paid them $15 plus a month penalty for the lack of use. I have decided that I have given it enough of a try and have attempted to cancel.

Mr Hatchett insists that they are going to charge me $250 to discontinue. He insists that I have a three year contract and have agreed to pay $250 fee to discontinue before that. His only suggestion is that I try it for another 5-6 months, costing me another $90 or so, THEN pay the $250 if I want to discontinue.

Mr Hatchett said I agreed to this. What I signed saying that I agreed to it was headed, "Acceptance of merchant application and terms & conditions/merchant authorization". There was a lot of math and conditions on that page and I assumed that that was it. When pushed to see the terms and conditions that agreed to a three years contract and a $250 discontinuation fee, he finally admits that I never saw it.

Below is our correspondence. ~ Sherry

Hello Sherry,

Here is the legal language that describes the length of term and cancellation fees. It can be found in the attached complete terms and conditons. Although you did no see or read the terms and conditions, by signing the application you agreed to its provisions.

13. TERM AND TERMINATION.

This Card Services Agreement shall remain in full force and effect for an initial term of three (3) years. This Card Services Agreement shall be automatically extended for successive one (1) year periods on the same terms and conditions expressed herein, or as may be amended, unless Merchant gives written notice of termination as to the entire Card Services Agreement or a portion thereof at least 60 days prior to the expiration of the initial term or any extension or renewals thereof, in which case this Card Services Agreement will terminate at the end of the then-current term. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary set forth herein, in the event Merchant terminates this Card Services Agreement in breach of this Section 13, the following amount(s) shall be immediately due and payable to Global Direct: the lesser of (a) the maximum amount permitted by state law, and (b) the amount of $250, such amount being immediately due and payable to Global Direct. Merchant hereby authorizes Global Direct to accelerate the payment of such applicable amount(s) and to deduct such total amount(s) from Merchant’s account referenced in Section 5, or to otherwise withhold the total amount(s) from amounts due to Merchant from Global Direct, immediately on or after the effective date of termination. If the Merchant’s account does not contain sufficient funds for the debit or the amount cannot be withheld by Global Direct from amounts due to Merchant, Merchant shall pay Global Direct the amount due within ten (10) days of the date of Global Direct’s invoice for same. The payment as described here is not a penalty, but rather is hereby agreed by the parties to be a reasonable amount of liquidated damages to compensate Global Direct for its termination expenses and all other damages under the circumstances in which such amounts would be payable. Such amount(s) shall not be in lieu of but in addition to any payment obligations for Services already provided hereunder (or that Global Direct may continue to provide), which shall be an additional cost, and any and all other damages to which Global Direct may be entitled hereunder. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if Merchant provides Global with written notice within forty-five (45) days of Merchant’s execution of this Card Services Agreement that it wishes to terminate this Card Services Agreement immediately, Merchant shall not be responsible for the payment of the above-referenced amount(s), but shall be responsible for compliance with all other terms and conditions set forth in this Card Service Agreement, including but not limited to payment for all fees incurred prior to the termination of this Card Services Agreement.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Global Direct may terminate this Card Services Agreement or any portion thereof upon written notice to Merchant. Furthermore, Global Direct may terminate this Card Services Agreement at any time without notice upon Merchant’s default in performing under any provision of this Card Services Agreement, upon an unauthorized conversion of all or any part of Merchant’s activity to mail order, telephone order, Internet order, or to any activity where the card is not physically present and swiped through the Merchant’s terminal, upon any failure to follow the Card Acceptance Guide or any operating regulation or rule of a card association or network organization, upon any misrepresentation by Merchant, upon commencement of bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings by or against the Merchant, upon a material change in the Merchant’s average ticket or volume as stated in the Merchant Application, or in the event Global Direct reasonably deems itself insecure in continuing this Card Services Agreement.

I have searched over all the documents and I do not find anything that says that I agree to a $250 wthdrawal fee. I see where I signed that I agree to the "terms and Conditions: which I assume was on the page that I signed since it said "Acceptance of merchant application and terms & conditions/merchant authorization". Under THAT there is NO condition of a $20 withdrawal fee. I would like to see what you gave me that says that I agree to a $250 withdrawal fee. ~ Sherry

Today:

I see. So you’re telling me that your goal in this business is not what is outlined on the solicitation paper that you originally sent; to help merchants improve their business. Your goal is to trick people into signing something they never saw so you can rope them into $15 plus a months rather they can use your service or not.

I signed a paper saying that I read the terms and conditions which was headed above "Acceptance of merchant application and terms & conditions/merchant authorization". How would you expect for someone to read something you have not sent them? It is obvious why you neglected to send this to me. It wasn't intended to know the truth.

I am quite sure that this is not how Dean would handle business. I am also quite sure that the Attorney General and BBB will entertain some action. ~ Sherry

Transnational Bancard- Liars and Thieves

I have a small Prepay cell phone store. I currently have transnational bancard for all my Credit Card, Check Card transactions. This company held back 80% of my money for over a month because they said it was an error they made on my merchant ID number. I know I should have been checking the reciepts with my bank account sooner but I trusted TransNational. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I talked to a salesman that said he could give me great rates and save me money but they trap you in a 2 yr lease that makes you pay $2400.00 for a CC machine that you'll never own.

I sent a monthly bill in by check for the machine and they still drafted it out of my account. I wasn't able to get that money back or credit for paying a month on the lease.

If someone contacts you from this company to process your credit cards-Beware. . . Beware. . . Beware for the bait and switch.

They come in talking about how much they are going to "save" you , not about how much it is going to cost.

I wanted to take credit cards in my business. I was contacted by someone from Transnational, a cold caller, and agreed to meet with him. Soon his "manager" who represents how great the company is and how they are a "big player" in the world of credit card processing shows up and tells me how they are going to help me and be there for me.

In the end, I was tied to a four year lease that I cannot get out of for an amout I cannot afford. After I got my first statement, they had taken over $250 from my business account for this lease and "additional fees" . Never did he explain that it was going to cost this much or that it was just the beginning of a four year nightmare.

Yes- I did sign a flurry of papers, but it was not explained in terms I could understand. I run a small shop, and there is no way I would have consented to spending this much money per month for so long. I do not make that much that I could have justified it.

I tried to appeal to many different people in the company, and out of the company. All with the same result-"THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO". The truth is -there is nothing they want to do except take my money and have their attorneys ready if I don't give it to them They are scammers preying on the niavety of the small business owner.

I feel your pain, the exact same thing happened to me. Such a shame that they prey on people who are just trying to make a decent living.

I too will be losing the same kind of money.

I plan on making a complaint to Lisa Madigan, Il Attorney General. Perhaps I can get her to investigate the deceitful business practices of Transnational Bankcard.

I use transnational and have had a very different experience. No contract, no leasing.

Just wanted to put that out there as I have recommended transnational to many friends. I was looking for info on how to understand my statement when I came across this.

The original post was 2009 so perhaps things have changed at transnational. I have been with them about a year and no issues.

As an employee of Transnational I can say that they do deliver on the promises that are made to the merchants. We don't do leases for terminals, they are sold at cost and the rates are set according to what is the cheapest for the industry that you are in and how you take your cards, swiped or keyed-in,so we work with the business owner and design programs that will allow you the best pricing structure in the industry and your account executive as well as our 24/7 customer service dept.

is always available to assist you with any problems that you might have. Your money is never withheld unless their is something shady about the transaction (etc you said your highest ticket was $500 and now all of a sudden you are trying to pass through a ticket for $1500.) the government mandates that the transaction be investigated to make sure that there is no credit card fraud involved. This protects you the business owner as well as Transnational, so unless you are shady you should be Thankful that we are so dilgent in our processing. We dont have an A+ rating with the BBB because we are a member we have it because we are honest and stay true to our Merchants at all times.

We will match our competitors price if not beat it if we are given a chance, so if you are not scared to speak-up and let us prove to you that we are Honest and work for our Merchants give me a call at 312-384-****. God-Bless You and Have a nice day

I have been with Transnational for 3 years now with zero complaints. If I ever have a question someone is always there to answer it whether that be my Rep or Customer Service.

My money is there quick and is always right. I wrote this simply because a friend of mine told me to check this out and I have had the opposite experience. I highly recommend Transnational to everyone. What is funny is if you read these complaints it is basically the same 2 or 3 people plus a disgruntled former employee going back and forth between themselves.

I don't know?? In today's world where very few will actually take the time say they are happy and will waste countless hours saying they are not.

I can at least say I am happy. I wish more would do that for my business..

Guest

I faxed them a letter to end my contract and i would pay to get out of it, that was DECEMBER 23 and I am not using the machine anymore and they are still charging me over 50.00 a month and did not end contract! The are awful!

Guest

Count the total number of complaints against the total # of complaints against your bank. I am very happy..

have been with them for 4 years..

would not change ever.. have many other try to beat and they can not..

The real way to get corporate rates even if you are a small business you can get interchange plus, which lets you pay VISA and MASTERCARD directly. The rates that the processing companies get charged are all the same.

I bet you would be mad to learn that a Visa card really only costs processeors 1.03%...so if you are paying 3 or 4% you are paying way more than you should.

If you want to learn about HONESTLY REDUCING your rates 30-45% please contact Melissa Cozzi @ National Bankcard Corporation. We have been in business for 19 years and have an A+ rating with the BBB we offer Visa Direct interchange plus pricing I can be conacted at 800-480-**** x 206 I personally have 10 years of merchant processing experience and will explain where every last red cent is spent and how exactly you will save on every transaction.

Guest

I work for a competitor of Transnational Bankcard and i Have personally seen and heard he complaints about the company, they actually hired a manager from another processing company that had multiple Sexual harassment charges against him. The company lures you in by telling you that you will get a 0% on your debit cards, but what they don't tell you is that they don't have to charge you because they have *** you in every other category of card.

A RETAIL BUSINESS SHOULD BE PAYING NO MORE THAN 1.75%...if you are paying more than that you are getting hosed and there are more hidden fees that they do not tell you. The surcharges for your REWEARDS cards will make your effective rate 4%.

TRANSNATIONAL is a joke as far as a company goes they pay their reps less than 12000 a year in salary so when you end up paying 59 a month for the machine for 4 years you are paying their comissions. ALSO...the machines only really cost a couple hundred dollars, do your research.

Guest

Yes, all the questions a smart business owner will ask.

Can we get out of this lease?

Yes. Don't worry about it.

But it says here it's non-cancellable.

Don't worry about it, I'm not here to scam you. I'll guarantee you'll be saving over your new company.

Can you sign a paper to the effect we'll be getting two months free and the lease can be broken?

Sure. But you must also guarantee that you'll work with us and not sign with any old guy claiming he'll save you more over our rates.

Yes, of course, if the rates are good why switch over $6.

Now fastforward one month later.

The average rate for a small business should be around 3% maybe a little less a little more. Before the machine was taken into account, the amount was 3.7% if you included the machine, it was 4.5%. The statement included web monitoring fees($6.95), data guard($3.95) which he didn't mention as fees when I asked him what other fees are there. On our third statement was an annual fee($95!!!!!), which he also didn't mention.

Of course at this point my boss wants to cancel, but doesn't really do anything about it until one week before the end of the first statement. We inform the rep Bryan in advance, which we shouldn't have done and just waited to see if he said would fix the problems that he said would fix to get our effective rate back to around 3%. If we didn't inform him ahead of time we probably would have saved a lot more money. so we cancel, and that's when bryan starts giving me a hard time about the free two months. His view of the incident was that we would continue on with the service and he would give us those two months, I treated the two months like a trial period. In no way shape or form did Bryan say that these two months free we conditional on us continuing business with Transnational for the rest of the lease period. If so, why even try? Just because you say the rates are low doesn't mean they are, and you were super confident after some serious number swapping around, we could get that rate, it's just shady.

In the end, Bryan got us out of the uncancellable lease like he said. but as of right now, we are out $290.82+ the opportunity cost of going with a different company which has already shown the rates to be what they say they are (2.74%). How does that 290.82 break down? $49.95+4.95 loss liability insurance x 3 months + partial monthly surcharge of $29.47 for starting on the 1st, instead of the 15th for Northern Leasing. $95 annual fee for Visa(according to Bryan, this is a cost Transnational passes onto the merchant, now we were with them for maybe two months, and we get tagged with an annual fee straight up? makes more sense to tag us with only 3 months worth, but no, they would lose money that way. Also Bryan never told us we would have minimum billing floor of $60(in the beginning, for first two months it was $25. )As a small business owner doing around 7k worth of business, and we were up front about that, and even had about 4 months of statements to see that it was about 7k, at 5 basis points, do you seriously think we can make $60 in fees? or even 25% The average amount for those two months was $6 so we were paying an extra 20, 40 dollars for simply the privilege of having an account with Transnational.

I can give out actual numbers. What is everyone else paying when they say they are super satisfied? Every single number comes out of my statement.

In the end, even though Bryan really is a great sales rep(in terms of how he sells not what happened toward the end, I have to admit at least he did something albeit he took a serious long time to do so), I wish we just went with the other company instead of being seduced by a "LOCAL" company with "GREAT" rates. Yeah, 5 basis points is very good, but not when you tack on all those fees and the lease, ending up with a *** rate than the company with 10 basis points.

I mean it's up to others to crunch the numbers, but for 3 months, expect to pay at least! $300 on top of those "great" rates.

We probably ended up forking over about $500 if you include the opportunity costs and undisclosed fees.

Guest

I think that Happy Transnational Customer is an *** posing as a "consumer" when he's actually an employee of Transnational. Why else would there be any "positive" defense for a company that overcharges.

I did one card swipe in the amount of 86 dollars and it costed me over 140 dollars in hidden fees, monthly services charges, and other nonsense. They also ACH debit your account that they are ONLY to deposit into (as the rep stated) then the rep "Bruce Alekna" said that he would be my representative for the life of the account, only to be conveniently obsconded with by another "team assignment" within the company. Then adding more insult to injury, they have not sent me a statement. What they told me was that they will send the statement out AFTER the ACH debit goes through, rather than bill me first, give me 20 days to make sure the funds are available, then make the withdrawal.

Instead, they take the money out in whatever ammount they have a flavor for for the month, then NOT send a statement, argue with you for hours on the phone, and even though I've been with them for two months, I STILL HAVE NO STATEMENTS. I'm contacting the Washington State Attourney General's office tomorrow and then filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit AND contacting "Get Jesse" on KING 5 News Seattle.

*** Transnational. They have screwed the pooch for the last time and pissed off the wrong small business owner!

BEWARE.....ALL equipment purchased through Transnational ARE LOCKED!!! Even though you pay good (and a lot) of money for them.....when your lease is up and you own it....it CAN NOT be used with any other processor.

They have a password that they REFUSE to tell you (even though it's your machine) when you need to clear the RAM or FLASH files, and you will never be able to edit any paramaters.

Purchasing anything from them is not a good idea!!! Learn from my mistake!

I agree, stay away from this company. Twice in two months they have not sent my Visa charges to my bank claiming that the routing number had been changed.

Once the routing number was 'fixed' now they are saying there is some other reason that they can't send through the $. We're a small company and can't afford to have several thousand dollars being held back.

WARNING!!!!WARNING!!!!

Stay far far away from this company.

Do not sign anything unless it's in writing, and make sure things does not apply to you cross out. I owned a small non- profit organization that helps children and families affected by autism business for 8 years and have not seen any people does business like these guys. Big time scam from manager to sales rep. promised everything and delivered nothing.

I never received the merchant machine from the company but, was charge fees. There are companies out there will give you free terminal, no lease involve if you process with them and 3 months fee. I was charged 15 days never received paperwork or machine.

Do not give this company your banking information because your bank will not be able to help you remove chagres you will have to deal with this company or close your account. What a nightmare!!!!!!

:) I am very happy to be working with Transnational. They have been my processor for the past 4 years and never once have I had a complaint.

I just paid off my lease on the equiptment and am lowest pricing program available. I have had a few other processors look over it and it couldn't be beat.

I was a little worried at first about the lease but in the long run this is has been the best program I have done. There was nothing buried in my rates as far as costs that is a good thing.

Looking for merchants for documentation of what happened with Transnational and how much money is owed to them.

Looking for past employees for documentation on any issue they had with Transnational - unemployment turn down, discrimation, sexual harrassment, etc.

My passion as a past employee is to help any of you as far as money owed and employment issues.

In a Transnational sales contract with an independent rep they have the Lease terms the rep is suppose to charge written in there. Now I am not a lawyer but if Transnational has lease terms for selling the leases in the salesman\'s contract to sell merchant services to businesses wouldn\'t that tie Transnational to the leasing company?

I have one in my possesion.

I would love to see them accountable for how the merchant is taken advantage of. :?

This company skates narrowly under contract law. From a moral or ethical standpoint, no way.

You should have a witness when dealing with this organization. Misrepresentation is common. They are not a processor- do not let them tell you they are. The transactions go through Global Payments (HSBC) you can get a better deal directly through them and not worry about the fraud this company is known for.

They will tell you that they have some level of PCI compliance- it is not any different than any reputable company. That will tell you big institutions have security breaches.

These guys are small, you just haven't heard of the breaches because no one really knows about this little company. John Pitzaferro makes his living with this company but will not acknowleldge the fraud he and is company commits.
