Dishonest and unethical business practice

AI Highlights
  • Original quote was higher at pickup; the contract was hundreds more with a 50% cancel fee.
  • Company used my name, area code, and city in reply.

I was given an original quote per hour. At the time of pickup, the driver presents a contract that is hundreds more than the original quote.

They DO NOT send anything other than a quick quote prior to being picked up, as they claim. At that time, it is too late to cancel without having to pay 50%. After leaving a negative review on Google about my experience, the company chose to use my personal information that they obtained from the business contract in their response to reviews. They used my first and last name, the area code for my phone number and the city I live in.

Other people in the party also left reviews about the experience and the company is claiming that I had them write fake reviews. Everyone in the party reserves the right to leave a review about the experience with this shady company. My review has since been taken down, which is not fair to future customers. They are also threatening legal recourse because of my review.

Transcity Limos has been ripping people off for 7 years.

I wish I would have read all the negative reviews before booking. They are all extremely similar.

Loss:
$356
Cons:
  • Unethical

Preferred solution: I would like the company to fully disclose all fees to future customers prior to the deadline for cancellation. I also want my original Google review put back up on the website.

User's recommendation: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

  • Quoted $398 for 4 hours; a new agreement added a $150 fuel charge.
  • They charged $198 as a trip charge and did not honor the original quote.

We rented a limo to go see Christmas lights. We were quoted a price ($398 for 4 hours), accepted, and planned the date with 4 other couples.

When the driver arrived, we were asked to sign a new agreement which included another $150 for fuel. Had we exceeded normal mileage, as in having our driver take us to Las Vegas and back, perhaps it could be considered reasonable but we didn’t. We were picked up in Peoria and stayed in the Peoria area to look at Christmas lights. We didn’t want to ruin everyone’s night so we planned to dispute the charge later as we made our plans based on their original quote.

The next day, they charged us another $198 as a trip charge. The trip charge was to pay for the driver to pick us up and drop us off. Wait, do we pay for the Uber driver from his location to ours? And, not that it matters, but did they hire a driver from San Diego as $198 should cover round trip charges from San Diego to Peoria and then back to San Diego, still not a customer’s responsibility.

All in all, $398 was their quote and we were charged nearly double. After they got paid, they had no intention or interest in honoring their original quote. Better Business Bureau is next.

This company should be shut down. Complete crooks!

Beware of Transcity Limos Chandler, AZ

AI Highlights
  • Phone and email quotes led to paying the quoted amount, gratuity included.
  • A $357 garage-to-garage charge appeared; not disclosed during service.

BUYER BEWARE! This company is not to be trusted!!!

My friends and I planned a special night out taking our daughters to a concert. We called and got a limo quote over the phone as well as an emailed quote in writing. The night of the concert, we paid the company the amount we were quoted which included gratuity. When we were dropped off, the limo driver said that we were pain in full and asked us to sign that we were dropped off safely.

THEN a few days later the card on file was charged an additional $357.00!!

They advised us it is a "garage to garage" charge. What this means is if it takes the driver an hour or five (in our case 3 hours) to get back to his "garaged location" the customer is responsible! We were never advised anything about driving to their garage and it was never mentioned to us per any conversation or during the service. The disclosure was sent via email and written in fine print. The average consumer would think "garage to garage" is from the time one was picked up and dropped off.

They are a misleading company and I hope this helps the next person from being taken advantage of. What was supposed to be a fun night out with our daughter’s has turned into regrets for trusting in a company as this one.

Cons:
  • Shady business
  • Not upfront

Transcity Limos shady misleading company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Alleges hidden Garage to Garage fees; $357 over quote.
  • Notice only via rental agreement; calculation tied to customer's garage.

SHADY BUSINESS STAY CLEAR NEVER USE PHOENIX PEOPLE!!!! Very misleading company!!! You think you are ONLY paying the fee you were given when booking then a few days later (after you have used limo) they charge your card additional fees for "Garage to Garage" What a scam! Never once do they tell you that when booking about the additional fees, even asking several times for an invoice prior to day of. $357 over the original price given. By the time you find out about their additional fees you have already used their service.

The Rental Agreement clause you have referenced in your defense does not support your position. In fact, it diminishes it.

The clause reads:

Garage-to-Garage Time Calculations: Garage-to-Garage means charges are calculated by applying the applicable hourly rate commencing from the time the chauffeur departs the garage to begin service and continuing through such time the chauffeur concludes service and returns to the garage.

Based on your history of fraud and misrepresentation as evidenced by the FIVE consumer complaints to the Better Business Bureau, you clearly intended to be intentionally vague in your definition of "Garage-to-Garage" in order to mislead and defraud the consumer. You do not specifically define whose garage you're referring to in the calculation. A reasonable consumer would conclude that the garage you were referring to was theirs not the driver's. Your driver picked us up in front of my garage and dropped us off at my garage; thus, commencing and concluding his service at my garage.

Further, the first and only time I was given notice of this Garage-to-Garage calculation was in the rental agreement I was presented with upon entering the limousine which I only quickly scanned, as your driver assured me it was just a standard liability waiver.
