No service at all

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I will never do business with this company again. The service is below average.

An ill-mannered service, no service, no, never this again. Better take another company, pay a little more, and get decent people who treat you well.

I rent cars up to 5 times a year, but I've never experienced this. The message is to stay away.Stay away

Charged double the price offered at the time of booking!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On June/18/2019 we picked up the car we booked way back in January from Montreal location. The guy running this place was very rude and arrogant from the very start.

As we were driving out of the shop, just couple of blocks away a warning was showing that there was a flat tire. We called the guy letting him know about that and he replied that we should ignore the warnings and proceed to a gas station to inflate the tire in question. We just couldn’t be that ignorant and went right back to the shop to have it fixed somehow. It turned out that there was even a nail puncturing the tire and after some convincing the guy gave us another car.

Everything was good with the new one and our vacation went smoothly with no other problems, only until we dropped off the car in Toronto and the guys there told us that is the Montreal location that’s going to deal with the payment. Without knowing what the payment is going to be we waited for the invoice to come through email, and when it came the original price had doubled.

When we booked the car rental the price was $586 and we were charged $1172!!! We’ve tried to get in touch with the issuer of this ridiculous invoice, but never had anyone answer our questions.

TransCanada and NU Car Rental scams

TransCanada and NU Car Rentals Scam companies

I should have read the reviews and complaints online earlier.

NU Car Rentals advertise a low rate of $11 or $13 a day online but I ended paying more than $100 !On top of than I expected the that's the cost a full day but since I exceeded 200kms they charged me extra for it. It gets worse – from the $13 , they add all the hidden fees (including all the insurance you don't need and all the extras added to your bill). That's how they added up to way more than $100. And because I live in Canada and I booked NU Car Rental online, they quoted in US$. So I ended paying more in CAD$ because at the moment the exchange rate works very much against me. This is despite me being in Canada and I end up paying US$ rates. I'll bet once the exchange rate goes the other way again (CAD$ higher than US$) they will charge everyone in CAD$ instead of US$. That's how scammers work.

And they are affiliated with TransCanada( another scam company). Also they car they gave me was about only half filled with gas. They did not tell me to only return it with only about the same amount. In the first place they should have given me a full tank.

When I spoke to one of their staff and eventually their manager, they told me the extra gas I put in is not refundable and there's nothing they can do about it. I also told them about the huge costs and they gave me lame answers. After a while I realise its no point arguing with them further. Having everything printed on an invoice which they give you later DOES NOT make it legal or morally justifiable.

They just cover their *** while robbing you of your money.

Terrible customer service. These companies should be shut down and not exist because of their fraudulent activities. The Ministry of Transport should go after these 2 companies and the ones like them and shut them down. Stay away from both NU Car Rentals and TransCanada, Its shameful they have "Canada" in TransCanada. I will certainly never deal with them again. Oh by the way NU runs NU hotels – I would expect those hotels are another scam. These people are thieves. That's what scammers are – they steal your money as in day light robbery.

This fraudulent place should be shut down!!! Worst company EVER!!!

Really believe the bad reviews.

They act very crooked and deceitful. I didn't see the review before I rented car from this location cause it was from Expedia they referred to this company.

I have bad experience start from pick and ended with dropping.

3 months later we received 81 dollar toll charge fee 67 dollars of which is an admin fee.

NU is a scam and any company that helps them take people money. I’m looking into getting a lawyer because I can’t get anywhere with Orbitz the website I used to reserve the car. After reporting them BBB I saw a LOT of complaints so hopefully this can turn into a class action suit and shut them down!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

car renters beware of trans canada car rental because there is tons of hidden fees that thy didnt tell you. they will charge you mercily if you are not careful.

my booking reservation confirmed the charge would be 33.33 including promo discount. yet when i got there, they charge me for 500.00 deposit fee and plus the daily rate was 34.95 per day so total 4 days, they ended uo charged around 160.00 included taxes. and on top of that, i have to pay for the insurance for 35.95 per day, so total i ended paying for tbe car rental fees for 4 days was 319.44 and they also charge me for the damage deductable 500.00 which for sure was not cause by me when i picked up the car it was pretty dark. and it was late so i didnt really look at the car carefully.

so be future customers. please do not rent cars from them. unless you want to pay extra fees like i did. $319+$500+300= 1119.00 which way more expensive than my flight tickets.

i can buy 4 international tickets for that hidden costs"!! plus i receive extremely poor customer services. they are just there staring at you like they dont want your business. no greeting.

no smiling. no help. all thwy do justsit there and to put charges on your card. please do yourself a favour, run before you rent a car with them!

dont waste your time and think you save a few bucks! it end up cost you 1000 times more. plus its not convient, they do not locate at the airport and you cant drop off at different locations. if it sounds too good to be true.

then it is!!!!!

run away. do not rent any cars from them
