I spent over $5K to attend a Training Camp boot camp with 15 others. The week consisted of lectures by a narcissist who wanted to tell everyone about his other companies and how he had passed the CISSP over 10 years ago (10 years...really). It went downhill from there. NOTHING covered in camp was on the test. Of 12 of us who took the test on the last day, 10 failed. Don't waste your valuable time and money. If you DO waste your time and fail, they only offer to let you sit through another week of class that will not help you pass. No offer to address the grievances of anyone in the class has EVER been made. They have not responded to letters and emails.

I was very apprehensive about using a third party site for preparing for exams. So I set up a webex with the salesperson to see what all they had to offer. I was shown numerous labs and different study materials. It all looked very impressive. Well, apparently they were showing me another websites materials, because just about none of what I saw short of the videos is what I got. The tests are a complete joke and typically questions either don't have a correct answer or mark the incorrect answer as being correct. Even further the videos are poorly done. I now have to purchase study materials from another site in order to get everything I need in order to prepare.

Training Camp - Training Course Review from Acushnet, Massachusetts

I have been in the market to find some training to update my skills I came across the training camp site with all the training I was searching for and they were local so I figured what more could I ask for. Well I am also working with a vocational consultant to get my training approved after a workers comp claim. Well she tried to call them to find out pricing and also checked online for training dates. Well never got a call back so I figured I will call and try to get some answers for her surprise no one called me back. I told her she said well I would they are not the company you want to deal with if they can't call back to answer question I don't feel comfortable having you go there not to mention the courses were going to be around 12,000.00 for all I the training I was searching for and I would have been able to get it approved. Well again I called no call back I filled out the online info to get course dates and pricing. I then get an email from bob Gilmore sending me the links I already seen and reviewed I then had questions so I call him left several Messages and no response also I responded to him by email and he replied with the same first email I told him what the consultant said as far as doing business with that company. In the email I asked him to call so I can get my questioned answered. Never responded. So I then called and got a lady I told her I was trying to find out some info and bob Gilmore is not returning my calls I told her I wanted someone else instead of him well she puts me on hold then he comes on the phone very rude and aggarant he said well I sent the links I said I had some questions and he was so dam rude. I told him I guess your company don't need the business and I can find another place that I can Find this training elsewhere and that he was so rude. So I wouldn't Recommend this place to anyone. I told Bob Gilmore I had reached to other training centers and get a warm welcome and they are willing to answer any questions and they also pay for lodging as part of the price. This was a horrible experience with training camp and they should find someone else to take student calls as he is bad For business. I know for a fact they lost my business and who know how Long they will stay in business with the attitude u felt with today. He is bad for business. I felt Like I was a bother to him and he is not God where I can't talk to him about my career and I am paying. I refuse to be treated that way I am not hard up for the training that bad when there are so many other Companies offering the courses. He should be fired or management should listen to his calls. And they can make there own decisions about him. No people skills. I suggest people over look this company they are very unprofessional and no compassion. Who wants to go there I can only imagine how the place is this. Try intense training schools if you want a boot camp they are very nice to talk to they are warm and welcoming your business.

Thank you for the post. It really helped

Writing a review using my name but being too fearful to use your name and posting as Anonymous is highly dubious.

Bob, i'm not sure how you're still employed there, unless you're trying to put the company out of business. You don't return calls or email. I had to call the company just to speak with someone about your coures.

sounds like you're trying to hide something bob. what are you hiding?

are you a scam artist? sounds awfully shady to me.

After weeks of calling and emailing, I got the accounts receivable lady and she issued me a refund via credit card.

Got in touch with simply cause I searched for training camp in google. I got in touch with a salesmen named R&b%rt G#lm%r#, an account manager to attend the camp session in Bushkill, Pa. After I paid the company, a week later I was informed the the class had been canceled due to lack of attendance. I then requested the $3000 back, to which was agreed. Two weeks went by, and i emailed him back asking when I should receive the money. He replied that is take two weeks to process, and then the checks are mailed out. It is now 2 months, and after request and request via phone and/or email, I kept getting the run around about how the problem is being looked into. Finally someone told me today, the check never went into the mail, and now its too late, cause it got lost while the taxes were being performed. I have to wait 4 more weeks. $3000 3 months after the class was paid for seems way too long. I would not recommend them, or don't sign up for a class unless you know the class is booked.

I had the same experience. Paid for a boot camp ($7,000) with credit card and then they changed the dates of the course the very same day and said it was no longer guaranteed to run.

I cancelled and they wouldn't refund my money to the credit card. They said they'd send a check in 6-8 weeks.

I said that was unacceptable and they wouldn't budge. I had to call my credit card company and dispute the charges

I agree. Robert is very slick (live support) and very fast to befriend you - and take your wallet too.

If you put down a deposit and for some reason you are unable to attend the class months before the class starts, you will be waiting 2months or more to get your deposit back. They are quick to pressure you for money, and take it but they are not quick to give you your money back

Welcome to the FREAKSHOW/trainingcamp

I took the 7day MCITP program. The first day of testing our hotel/classroom was taken over by a freak show convention. We got moved into a small suite while the show took over the entire hotel. I got about 3 days of instruction and paid $4,000 for admittance to a freak show. It was a constant distraction. Makes you wonder how much profit they are pulling in when a freak show convention can take over your classroom. Over half the class failed the first exam. They refused to refund my money and said that I could take the class again in a few months. No thanks. I hope they file bankruptcy.

New Reviewer delivered half of what was paid for is a joke 1. they upcharge how much each certification costs for the testing and retesting where comptia's website shows how much the "member" price is and they are members says there website. 2. They had old out of date computers for there hands on training that didn't have the items needed to pass A+ certification. 3.Doing network+ then a+ is backwards and is probably done so that they can reap higher profits by charging higher retest fees. Long story but I'll try to condense it I signed up for A+/Network+ training from them I flew out to Dallas Texas to attend training class first 3 days were net+ last 3days was A+. The first test was on the 3rd day and 50% or higher failed.Of the people that did pass they had either previous training or utilized extra training material and tests online which gave them the difference they needed to pass the test. Over 50% of the test questions our class encountered wasn't taught to us or in the study material given to us from trainingcamp. We then proceded to A+ which is the easier of the two and the core foundation. Within 30min of starting A+ training alot of the questions we had missed was showing up on A+ The teacher continued teaching A+ and most of us passed the first A+ test and was ready to take the second test the next day. The next day we are greeted by a new teacher flown in to "Correct Mistakes that may have been made" After bragging how good he was and informing us that he was a director and that he wrote our study guides and that the self-test software we had been given was "***" He covered the rest of A+ Heres where it gets funny...So they replaced the teacher after majority of us fail network+ but passed the first A+. Needless to say majority of us did pass the second A+ as well being that A+ is easier than network+ but now theres less than 24hrs before camp is over so is the new guy going to recover net+ nope.. I asked him how he was going to cover in under8hrs what we couldn't get in the 3days we paid for on network+ and he again stated that the self-test software they provided us was bs and that he had new software for us to use. He said he was there to fix things so let him know if there was anything we didn't understand and he would try to help. During class I had several questions about stuff we had missed on the net+ test however he would always state I believe thats in the studyguide I wrote and didn't answer the questions. Others had questions as well and he told them the same thing. So he comes down the 2nd to last day to fix network+ but covers A+ instead and just says ask him if theres anything we don't get on network+ Funny thing is you don't get a list of what questions you missed so I remember what I chose on some questions but I have no idea if that was right or wrong. He told us he was authorized to grant retake vouchers if we wanted to take the network+ test the next day so after passing A+ it was around 8pm and we would have to take the test the next day around 10am and he wasn't going to recover any material but we could ask him any questions we had. I dunno about you guys but if we didn't get it in 3days whether it be there books, there "BS" test software, or there teacher (which is what they said the problem was) how we gonna magically get it if all he is going to do is answer questions we may have. I went to talk to him about a question I had and about how I didn't think it was fair to have less than 1 day to study for something I paid 3days for he said "Maybe its my military training but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to pass if your not then thats your choice" I was like hang on Joe military has nothing to do with this I paid for a service I didn't receive. He continued being passive aggressive I guess trying to guilt-trip me into taking the test the next morning and then ended up saying well everyone else is taking it tomorrow I guess if you can't then oh well. At this I got upset cause once again the passive aggressive was over the top. The conversation ended with him asking what I wanted from him to which I replied nothing... I paid for this and expected to get it which I didn't but Nevermind I don't want ANYTHING from YOU. To this he stated well fine if you want to take the test at a later date if I have to pay for it out of my own pocket I will. That would have been great if it wasn't for all the passive aggressive comments earlier so basically he made it seem like he would give me a hand-out or charity. So I didn't retake the test the next day 3 of the others did 1 passed (Lol thankfully he went online and used other self-study materials and practice tests so he could pass) So I paid over $3,000 for network+ and A+ and just got A+ Being upset I decide to open a website I have a forum where I can post what happened in greater depth as well as the other classmates one who got screwed over more than me being lied too etc but he will post his own experience soon. Sorry for the long post I'm sure I've Missed some stuff so If you'd like to know more visit Oh last note.. I just got a call from someone claiming to be the CEO of trainingcamp he was very angry and not very helpful so I guess I'm going to be sued now for speaking out. To Anyone thinking of using I suggest unitek or techskills or any number of better business to deal with.

alert("Stop crying!")

I appreciate the heads up. I was about to sign up for a 7k MCSE bootcamp. That is a lot of money so if there is even a hint of any issues i am out.

Same here. Sorry Colin find a new patsy.

True, I have a very similar story in regards to this bunch. Buyer BEWARE!!!

THIS confirmed my skepticism. Ive heared so many iffy complaints about training camps, people training for the test only and not the whole network sides,etc.. gets the job and losses it because they couldnt perform their duty due to not learning the ins and outs
