Tracey Paving will rip you off
We engaged TRACEY PAVING (Dennis Tracey) to perform landscaping and turf the backyard, putting down 50% at the start (mistake #1). He actually started 12 months later after numerous excuses.
When he did start, he asked for more money (WARNING BELLS!). We gave him a little more so we would not lose the initial $7,000 we gave him. He has sub-contractors turn up, but materials did not arrive. In the end we got some stuff completed, but lost $1,000 after many excuses and hard luck stories. We spoke to a law enforcement office we know and he said there was not much we could so about it.
Apparently he has been called before VCAT many times before but he ignores it. Note: his company is not registered any more (ASIC) but he is still trading under the nameLook for him around Beaumaris enjoying the good life

Denis Tracey of Tracey Paving was declared bankrupt 8 June 2012 so I lost $800 which I had prepaid, for pavers he did not supply. I won my case at VCAT against him the previous year but the sheriff could not recover the money in time.
The notification letter I got from Govt Trustee shows he avoided a total $63,980 in debts to 17 creditors, an this doesn't include all the customers who lost much more than me when he was in Beaumaris (see your own website).
Why is he still operating with same company name, and same ABN? Is this legal?
Well, it seems that Mr Tracey continues on his path of destruction. We tried to stop this happening again and unfortunately, I suspect it won't be the last time that it happens.
My son and daughter in law employed Mr Tracey's services to undertake paving at their property last year. Mr Tracey was highly recommended by Jim's Paving, as they advised that they could not supply a contractor for the Sandringham area.
Mr Tracey advised my son and daughter in law that he required payment for the cost of materials for the paving works, totalling $1,680.00 prior to the commencement of the works. This amount was paid for in March 2012. Mr Tracey was contracted to commence the paving works in late March 2012.
Mr Tracey did not commence the paving works, nor did he deliver the materials which werfe paid for. Mr Tracey repeatedly found excuses for the delay in commencement of the works and failed to deliver the pavers. My son and daugther in law later found out from the paving supplier that the pavers had never even been ordered.
My son found out where Mr Tracey was living at the time and confronted him at his house. Mr Tracey advised he could not reimburse the monies as he didn't have any money.
The matter was referred to the police for investigation and my son was advised that there wasn't much that could be done about the matter.
We were trying to stop Mr Tracey ripping off other people, but unfortunately it seems that he will continue to get away with his fraud and theft, as he has the protection of the law, whilst we don't.
