Nashua Toyota, Incompetent and DANGEROUS service department

Update by user May 13, 2015

05/13/15 As of today there has been NO contact from Nashua Toyota, AND we now have ANOTHER independant repair facility that has corroberated the fact that ALL FOUR shocks/struts on the Yukon we bought from Nashua Toyota are IN FACT defective, and have resulted in poor tire wear (and damage) AS WELL As fuel mileage that is far below the posted or average fuel consumption for this vehicle......Toyota has NOT responeded to any of our calls, nor to any of our IN PERSON complaints on the matter..........THEIR LOSS, as my wife has just purchased a brand new 2015 Toyota Camry (paid cash for it) from IRA Toyota, just 10 miles away from Nashua......

It started several years ago when my wife decided to take her Toyota Camry back to the dealer she bought it from for a simple oil change... As soon as we got the car back we knew something was wrong...there was OIL and GREASE smears all over the steering wheel, as well as on the driver's seat, and greasey footprints on the floor mat. As soon as I saw that I figured I better check under the hood....and sure enough, the oil filte that was supposed to have been changed appeared to be just as filthy as before we took it in. So, I called the service manager at Nashua Toyota and told him what we had found, and his initial response was "that's impossible"...."we ALWAYS put paper floor protectors in EVERY car we work on." ....and "We ALWAYS change oil filters with EVERY oil change. You are probably just seeing some grease or oil from the mechanics hands when he tightened the filter in place"...then he offered to clean the steering wheel and seat..... When we returned the car for the cleaning, we had a biit of "discussion" about the obviously REUSED oil filter...in a location where several other customers could hear, and the service manager offered to "redo" the oil change for us........We agreed, but we did NOT tell him that before we had come in this time, we had deeply scratched our initials in the bottom of the filter with an awl, and then smeared some of the surrounding grease over it.... Well...when they gave us the keys back, YOU GUESSED IT....the stearing wheel was still a mess, looking as if someone had just used a paper towel to wipe it, with no cleaner....but even "better".....when I opened the hood.....IT WAS THE SAME FILTER THAT WE HAD SCRATCHED OUR INITIALS INTO........they had cleaned the grease and oil off it, but apparently were too BLIND to see the initials........OF COURSE we immediately walked back inside and insisted the manager come to the car with us......and he had NO CHOICE but to finally admit they had NOT changed the filter (again)....so now he offers us a certificate for ONE free oil change at a later date..... ..GUESS WHAT.....several months later when it was time for our next oil change........against our better judgment we decided to use the "free oil change" certificate at Nashua Toyota......WHAT A JOKE..first of all they tried to tell us that the certificate was EXPIRED...but there was NO expiration date on it.......THEN we were told it would be at least an hour before they could get to it, even though we came in at an "appointed" time......Now, remember the last oil change when our "initialed" oil filter had come back on the car a second time? GUESS WHAT......that same filter was still on the car when we brought it in this time....AND WAS STILL ON IT WHEN THEY (allegedly) finished the oil change this time ! ! !...........SO HOW MANY TIMES DID THEY LEAVE THE SAME FILTER ON YOUR CAR???? NOW COMES THE LAST STRAW.... After a serious car wreck a few months ago, I had to replace my GMC Yukon and was looking all over New Hampshire for one....when one show up available at yup, NASHUA TOYOTA, as a recent trade in. Since there were some specific reason for the Yukon in my work, I ended up buying it from Nashua Toyota, but only after negotiating an "Inspection Warranty" which essentially means NASHUA TOYOTA guarantees that the vehicle will pass inspection for at least 30 days after purchase. WELL....GUESS WHAT......within a few days wee found that at least one of the shocks was failing, and bottoming out intermittantly while on the highway.....of course this means it does NOT pass inspection, AND creates an exttremely DANGEROUS situation as the main reason for myy purchase of such a large, powerful vehicle is that I often have to haul a 16' long, 10,000pound, twin axel trailer with close to $100,000 of audio/video equipment inside.... Well, as gullible as I am, I assumed that NASHUA TOYOTA would honor their "inspection" warranty and brought the vehicle in for service, expecting the repairs.....NOT GONNA HAPPEN......we have now taken the vehicle to them THREE TIMES and everytime they have REFUSED to repair the bad shocks, AND have IGNORED warnings from the local GMC dealer that I took it to for a "second opinion"....as the GMC dealer found that one of the FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS was obviously FAILING, and the GMC dealer put it in writing....which I personally handed to the service tech and point it out before giving them the keys to take it to the shop........ SO, after another HOUR.....my keys are handed to me, they have again REFUSED to make the required repairs to the shocks AND THEY COMPLETELY IGNORED THE NOTATION FROM GMC THAT THE WHEEL BEARING IS FAILING.......... So this coming week I plan to take some time off work and take my Yukon to the NH Dept of Safety in Concord and have THEM take a look at the situation.....HOPEFULLY they WILL agree with the GMC assessment, at which point I will ask them to fully investigate Nashua Toyota for FRAUDULANT INSPECTION PRACTICES and hopefully it will end up with Nashua Toyota LOSING their licence to perform vehicle inspections for a year or two....and/or face a majorr cash fine for WRECKLESS AND WANTON ENDANGERMENT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC....
