I visited BSC Wellington Circle this afternoon on August 4,2020. I approached the front desk and I linquired about canceling my membership.
Upon this request I was informed by Nicole ( Club Manager ) that I have a balance from July ,August as well as a annual fee. I can definitely afford to pay the annual fee, but I asked Nicole could she possibly waive August being that I will not be attending the club and/or possibly July ? Nicole replied , no I cannot waive August nor July but I can waive the late fee. I explained to Nicole that I had recently be released from the hospital and that I really was not thinking of my gym membership due to my condition and everything I was going thru.
Nicole replied rudely saying that , I had plenty of time to cancel and this is our policy. I then repeated myself and told Nicole that I was just released from the hospital not even a week ago , and Nicole said rudely ,You could have found someone to write a letter for you. I was hurt by the lack of empathy she showed me. I really wasnt ready to be treated like this being that I just go released.
When I had to be admitted into the hospital my uncle in Fort Lauderdale Florida put a freeze on my debit card for me and if and when I recovered I would then settle all my bills if I can. I am hurt and a little angry at Nicoles rudeness and expression of her lack of empathy for my unfortunate situation. In conclusion she refused to help me. I would like July and August waived if possible.
I have no financial burden paying the annual fee. I just disappointed and hurt by how I was treated especially from a Club Manager

Why were we not refunded our 50% of March membership since the gym was closed exactly on 3-15-2020. If I dont hear from you guys, I will take legal action plus I will dispute the half of my fee with my bank. Plus I will completely cancel my membership.

i have been reaching out for weeks to freeze my membership which is $80 a month. i am not able to use the gym obviously.
i cannot reach anyone on the phone and no one responds to emails. i don't want to be charged for the gym that i am not able to use.

No answer from emailing GM twice. Called back in April to freeze so they dont charge for being closed down.
They hand charged me twice now for two months and they have been closed the whole time.

I want my money for a gift card given to me,
I was given a gift card at total woman spa and gym in Placentia, ca. In dec 2018.
Tried to use it in January 2019. It wouldn’t work. Of course no managers. Tried again in feb 2019.
Still no go. No contacts back from managers who were supposedly told of the situation. Finally in March or April they looked up the transaction and deemed it a legitimate gift card. Couldn’t replace it without corporate approval.
After checking every month- no approval until July 2019 I finally got the news that corporate had approved it but it hadn’t “dropped” in the system for the location to let me use it. To date, (October 14) still waiting! This is just crazy! Are you trying to defraud me of my $100?
Why do you give NO AUTHORITY to anyone at a local or regional level to make things right with a customer ? I have been patient to a fault but now I have filed with the BBB.
Do I have to go to the hassle of small claims? It’s the principle of the thing now

Do this instead. Plus, call your bank & the credit card company # (listed on back) & tell them you have canceled your account with Town Sports Int.
& do not receive payments. Ask if they need a certified letter sent, (I would). Send the 1-page letter, certified mail, & notarized, to the credit card company, Town Sports, & your bank. By doing this, ALL parties involved would be notified.
Also, state you are sending a copy of this letter to the BBB (Better Business Bureau), Chamber of Commerce, and file a complaint with the State Attorney's Office.
Do be aware, they may be closed for good because of the virus. If not, and they are just hoarding the $, and screw the customers, that's when to fight back so others don't get burned.
