Verified ReviewerTour&Tate appears to be legit but not really...
- - Models and a good photographer were used.
- - Images show high-quality garments; nothing looks cheap.
- - Feb 3 order lacks tracking, carrier, ETA.
PROs:
They hired models and a good fashion photographer. They found a few cool locations for photo shoots.
The garments on the website appear to be high-quality (in the website images). Nothing looks chintzy or AliExpress.
On the surface, T&T appears to have an online chat and a 'Contact Us' option. Lots of references to premium quality at discounted prices, "Our Promise", along with their mission statement.
It all sounds good, but they aren't doing it.
CONs:
I placed an order on the Tour&Tate website on 3 February. The original order page noted shipping as: "Standard Plus 3 to 5 Days".
An order confirmation email was auto-generated, but they have not provided a shipping carrier name, tracking number, or estimated delivery date.
Also noted: "...You can track the status of your order via the track & trace link below" (but there is no link)
And: "...write a (good) review, and you may get your order FREE...
Sending help requests using hi@***.com resulted in "We are here to help.
But not here". The email goes on to say that I should direct my help request to hi@***.com (which is what I used) .ᐟ.ᐣ
I sent order status and tracking help requests via the 'Contact Us' form on the website. I did receive a response (which is something, anyway): an auto-generated "We're working hard on your order - thank you for your patience."
Despite several order-help requests, no tracking has been provided over the last weeks.
The Tour&Tate website states that the company started as a "small idea" in Amsterdam in 2020. Regardless of where the company began or claims to be based, all signs point to drop-shipping from overseas; in other words, garments are not being shipped from a Dutch warehouse.
Customers have reported that their orders shipped from China and that the items appear to be from Temu (or a similar site).
Most notable: no delivery at all, significant shipping delays (waiting a month+), no tracking provided, AI-only chat, and overall inaccessibility.
I am so sick of sketchy, dodgy e-commerce retailers that masquerade as premium, upscale-casual, and high-quality brands when they are really just drop-shipping cheap crap fast-fashion from who knows where.
There are reasons why Tour&Tate continue to appear on sites like "Is this legit", PissedConsumer, and Trustpilot, which explain the numerous negative reviews online.
Why many/most of these shady sites just happen to be official Shopify merchants is another can of worms. Don't get me started.
