Verified ReviewerOvercharged Tip at Torchy’s – No Proof of Refund Provided
I had a frustrating experience at Torchy's Tacos today. I purchased a large chips and queso for $7.75, but my card was charged an additional $49.91 tip that I did not authorize.
When I went back to the store to get the issue fixed, I gave them my receipt and was told that a refund would be processed, but I was not provided any written confirmation or proof that the refund was submitted. I asked for a cash refund or at least a refund receipt, but was told that neither was possible. I was also told that sometimes customers 'accidentally enter their PIN as a tip,' but I was never given an option to even leave a tip on the screen during my purchase.
Now I am left trusting their word without any documentation. I don't think this is an acceptable way to handle customers' money, and I hope Torchy's takes this seriously and improves their processes.

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Refund for wrong tip
My wife and i dined at Torchy's at Georgetown location on Ronald Reagan Blve last week May 15th 2025. I chose NO TIP when paying and $89.00 was added to my order under tip.
The cashier took the receipt back to someone then returned and tole me that it would be fixed within 48hrs. I had her print me another copy of the receipt.
I have checked the bank, and nothing has been fixed (no money Back)
I would appreciate if someone would text me with an answer.

No one from Torchy's has called or texed
Chose the button NO TIP so i got $89.00 added as a tip on my $26 dollar salads.asked cashier what happened, she went to the back for a minute. Returned and said it would be corrected within 48 hours.
Tha was on May 15th. Its been 5 days and no fix

February 10th my friend and I entered the Torchys location in Mansfield on Broad St. for some chips and queso with just chorizo (which they got wrong).
He decided to get a strawberry margarita which I sipped on a little because we usually enjoy drinking at the bar at the Arlington location but tonight we just wanted queso real quick. i started to noticed the bartender staring at me before she approached me and asked for my id. I didnt have it because I wasnt planning on drinking so she told me to stop drinking or shell take the drink. I just said okay but she kept staring and making me incredibly uncomfortable.
We quickly finished our chips and decided to just sit on the patio while my friend finished his drink because I was so uncomfortable. I go to pour his drink for him into a different cup so we can just throw the plastic cup away and leave instead of leaving the margarita cup outside but before I can even finish pouring, the lady snatched the drink from my hand and throws it away. She wouldnt refund us because she said we didnt listen and kept drinking despite staring straight at me the entire time knowing I wasnt drinking because as soon as I touched the drink she ran over.
She refused to refund us on top of getting our order wrong and making me uncomfortable me the entire time. Id simply like my refund.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology.
We used online customer support and they said they would issue a refund, which could take 5-7 business days. We are now on business day #10 with no refund.
I have contacted the store and used online customer support multiple times this week and no one has responded. I have even reached out to their social media and still no response.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have had issues with delivery from this location, which is disappointing because we do really enjoy the food!

On Sunday June 19, 2022 I called and placed an order to the Torchys Taco in Shreveport, LA. 20 minutes later I arrived to the store to pick up my order and was told they didnt put it in because I didnt leave my name!
The worker never asked my name, just my order and told me goodbye. I asked to speak with a manager and he acted like he didnt care! I asked for the guy name who took my order and it was Chase! I also asked the manager how to file a complaint and he said I could only do it with him and walked off.
Another worker told me that this is not the first time Chase has taken an order and didnt put it in!
I was also told that the manager on duty and Chase were good friends so thats why he didnt care! I was very unsatisfied being that I order for torchys very frequently!!
