They don’t fix it the first time

Any time I have taken the car in because the engine light has come on Tom Bush Mini does a halfhearted job. Within a week your car is back in service for the same problem.

BEWARE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
BEWARE of what they call their "SERVICE DEPARTMENT", after almost 5 years of dealing with Jacksonville, and Pensacola, the words, COMPLETE and UTTER DISASTER, rings SSSSSSOOOO true! DON'T bother making an appointment, it's merely a time set for your consultation, BUT, if they have what they"DEEM" as an emergency for other vehicles, then you get pushed back, and be SURE to have your advisor make you as "Waiting"(in their waiting room) on your vehicle, otherwise, again you get pushed back, if you have one of their loaners. Absolutely goodness FORBID if you have traveled there from out of town, because they could care less!!!!!! IF you have problems or issues with the service department in Jacksonville or Pensacola, make sure to give Shelia, the service manager of Jacksonville, Brian, the service director, or Kathy, the service manager in Pensacola, a call, DON'T expect a call BACK, or any resolution other than double talk! As of my last service on 04-09-19, I will drive to ANY other Mini dealership, besides Tom Bush Mini!!!!!!

We purchased our Mini off the showroom floor in 2011. Tom Bush is the only place we have taken our car since purchase. It started with a faulty tire which we had to take back several times before they agreed that the wheel was defective. Then a few months later, the tail lights burned out (literally) the was over $300 dollars. We attested that it had to be manufacture defect, but to no avail. Year 1 the Check engine light intermittently came on and off. Some more mechanic jargon and another $700 plus dollars. Year 2 or 3, more problems with the check engine light and now the other tail light assembly burned out. Entire engine taken apart for a recall part and more mechanic jargon, bottom line : over $1000 dollars. This is on top of the regular services which none of these things were mentioned by the mechanics. Year 4 and 5, more check engine and this time car shut down. More mechanic jargon and another grand out the window. This week, car shut down. bad water pump, bad oil seal and some more mechanic jargon, price tag, over $1800 dollars. They never noticed any of these problems until the warranty ran out, now the flood gates open. I believe that they were performing patch jobs until the warranty no longer covered anything, now they notice everything. Almost $5,000 dollars in repairs outside of normal scheduled maintenance, for a car that I can put in my truck bed...REALLY...either the mechanics are clueless or this is a well planned scheme because they are the only Mini dealer in town...I dont think Mr. Bush created a successful business using these tactics, this is all on the management and mechanics...

Tom Bush Mini Auto Service Review from Brentwood, Tennessee

I came down to Jacksonville to visit family. My mini decided not to start a few days after I got here. I made the huge mistake of having it towed to Tom Bush Mini for repairs. It is now going on 3 weeks and they have yet to diagnose my car and give me a quote. After a week, I had to inquire about a loaner car, which they did allow me. However it's now been 10 Days or so since I've got the loaner and they have yet to diagnose my car. I have spent all of my vacation time here waiting for my car so I can go home but now I can't even get a call back from Troy. I truly have nothing nice to say about these guys. Do not take your car here. Ever.

Price Gouging

I brought my 2008 Mini Cooper-S to Tom Bush Mini in Jacksonville, FL because my "check engine" light was on, thinking that it was going to be a minor fix. Boy, was I wrong. They came back with a long list of things that "needed" to be repaired, including replacing most of the engine gaskets that my warranty did not cover (how ironic). This is the exact estimate from their service department: Oil filter housing gaskets $850.00 + tax Turbo supply hose and return hose o-ring $903.00 + tax Vacuum pump $615.00 + tax Valve Cover Gasket $145.00 + tax Timing chain tensioner leaking $160.00 + tax Both 02 sensors are covered in oil $660.00 + tax Output shaft seal at right axle is leaking $360.00 + tax Air Bag Control Module $780.00 + tax DSC control module $710.00 + tax The total estimate came in at over $5,000.00 I brought the vehicle to an independent shop with good references, for an estimate and they quoted me less than $800.00 with a warranty. The folks at Tom Bush Mini are rip-offs. It was my intention to get the vehicle repaired and trade it in for a new model, but I no longer trust the Mini Cooper/BMW brands or the dealership. Consumer Beware.

Mini cooper motor replacement needed after 80,000 miles

I bought a new 2009 mini cooper base model with manual transmission from Tom Bush Mini in Jacksonville, Florida. I had regular maintenance with full synthetic oil. I have a long commute to work, but not stop and go traffic and it's never been overheated. At 80,000 miles, I noticed a tapping noise and I took it in to the service dept at Tom Bush Mini. They told me that I needed a new motor and it would cost $8200 because my warranty was 50,000 miles. That is crazy. I called Mini USA, but all they say is that it's out of warranty. Most cars can go 100,000 miles without replacing the motor these days. I can't believe this car is junk.

I have a 2008 Mini Cooper Automatic Transmission I bought it Sept 2009. Within 2 yrs.

I needed brakes and was talked into buying an extended warranty which I figured covered the engine. I have 95,000 miles and have bad pistons the seals are more than likely bad and now the hose which goes to coolant has a leak. I was told by my mechanic that Mini Coopers are notorious for this.

I'm so disappointed that my mini didnt' even make 100,000 miles and I will have to dump it somewhere. Of course the dealership says to trade it for another one lol..never again will I buy a Mini Cooper.

Bmw mini beware of tom bush jacksonville fl. rip offs

tom bush bmw mini jacksonville fl. will rip you off beware!!!!!!! beyond belief,,,, watch your money, slick con artist!!!!! we went in to upgrade our mini, they give is a quote on our 2005 and assured us that was the best they would give us, our car was in excellent cond. with up grades all over including new rims and tires. still under warranty by 6000 miles, we hadn't done our homework and didn't look up true value for our car.( our mistake !) We tried to buy it back within 4 to 5 days they informed me that they couldn't sell it back to us for what they paid us for it, I said fine I would pay 1000-**** dollars extra to salvage 5000, then all of a sudden the salesman said oh I'm sorry we already sold it today you can't have it back. through all my fustration I decided to pay off the new mini so as to not have to dealings with this company what so ever. they told me that we could pay it off in 30 days with no problem and when we go to do it they want to prorate the interest after being told we wouldn't have any problems, the man I talk to at the finance dept of bmw in hillary ohio (steve) didn't know how to do his job, when asked questions he would laugh and say he couldn't do anything to help us or *** the gap insurance that we weren't getting since we were not finiancing the car. shop there again? not in this life!

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!

I was also scamed by the dishonest people at Tom Bush. My husband and I were looking to trade our 2 door car for an SUV because I was pregnant. We found a very nice Lincoln Aviator that we really liked. We were young and taken advantage of. We should have done our own research but the sales man Jamal seemed so "honest" we just thought "it must be the best he can do". We thought we were getting a reliable car and it tuned out to be ***! I feel like they knew the car had problems because it was nothing but trouble from the beginning. We still have the car and can not get out because of all of the negative equity the car has. He totally scammed us and taught us a very expensive life lesson. The sales rep was Jamal so if you do go there stay clear of him, in my opinion he is a scam artist!!
