Fraudulent Business Practices

AI Highlights
  • - Promises not kept; project overdue; subs unpaid.
  • - Money from new projects may be used to finish older ones.
  • - Require invoices and lien releases from subs.

Billy Seiter with Titan Homes will make tons of promises and not keep any. He will use money from a new project to complete an older project that he spent that money on something else.

I would keep records from the beginning; do not give any money without work actually being complete and any request for money to purchase supplies ask for proof of invoices. Finally, ask for lien releases every step of the way from the subs. Our project is now more than double the time past due. We are getting calls from multiple subs that they were never paid.

People show up for a day or two to do some work and then disappear because he gave them a little money to show just a little progress on our project.

He will blame previous projects that screwed him and that's why he has gotten in a whole with your project (but when you have paid him for your project and if he has followed state requirements that wouldn't matter). I have now found many other clients that were in the same situation; only wish I had uncovered all of this prior to signing a contract with him.

User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs

Prevent others from hiring Billy Seiter

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Project took almost a year and is unfinished.
  • - Reviewer accuses Seiter of lying.
  • - Subcontractors say he doesn't pay.
  • - Steer clear of Seiter.

We hired Billy Seiter of Titan Homes to finish attic space. A 4-6 month project has taken nearly a year and he hasn't finished.

I've taken it upon myself to finish with other contractors. Billy Seiter is a pathological liar. He lies so much that I don't even think he knows what is reality or false at this point. His subcontractors have told me that he doesn't pay them.

Please steer clear of this company. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if he's already out of business and that's why I haven't heard from him.

Has anyone had to use an attorney yet? We are in the same boat with our project as well.

I have reached my last end of my rope with Billy Seiter. I will be contacting your attorney to give him my story maybe it will help your case.

It is not much money wise so I will just take the loss but feel my story needs to be told. I'm down to wrong windows installed promised they would be replaced. Wrong door glass promises would be fixed. Why do this stuff when you know it's wrong?

Had to come down some repairs has left holes in the wall.

His deadline was Friday he knew all week and Friday was the only day he showed for a little bit but didn't bring the painters. IM DONE Sign Disappointed Homeowner

We terminated our contract and he told our attorney he has never been in this situation before. Another lie!

We are also taking the loss and not moving forward at this point with any suit as he has nothing to go after. He also didn’t finish a number of items and now learning some things done wrong as we are getting bids to finish the work.

Love to connect just to hear your story. I’m sure Ted will pass your info on to me if interested.

Homeowner Beware

AI Highlights
  • - Contractor allegedly lied and owes $80,000+; lawsuit underway.
  • - Unfinished items and major issues; fireplace repair $25k–$30k, warranty questioned.

Billy Seiter with Titan Homes was contracted to build our house in 2011. Without boring you with all the details, he is a smooth talker who will talk circles around you all while lying in your face.

He owes us $80,000+ and went so far to tell us he was on the way to the bank to make a deposit which never happened. This run around went on for several months. We finally hired an attorney and now he claims we owe HIM money. Good thing we tape recorded all our conversations, including the ones with him telling us he was on the way to the bank.

As if that's not bad enough, there is a long list of incomplete items and several major things that are totally screwed up in our home.

We have estimates of $25,000 - 30,000 just to fix the main fireplace in the living room because it was not constructed properly and is completely non-functional. So much for the 5 year warranty!

We are currently in litigation with Titan Homes. Our construction project dragged out over much of 2016. I don't want to say too much, because we have a trial date set for June 18.

We have had a lot of trouble with Billy Sieter from Titan Homes too. Is there a way we could contact you?

I'd be curious to hear your story. We were househunting from California over one weekend, and our realtor encouraged us to bring Billy to our second showing.

the realtor's recommendation carried more weight that it should have. I'd sue him too, if I though I had a chance.

Was this ever resolved?

He put in a very weak beam over our lower living space. We sued him and got $5000.

It cost more to sue him, but I wanted to make sure he had a judgment against him. He is completely clueless about how incompetent he is, and that is why he is so dangerous.
