Shipping and no Customer Service

I wanted to ship an item 30 minutes away, and I contacted the shipping company, and they still haven't responded. I tried calling Timewell auctions about it however they never pick up the phone.

Absolutely ridiculous, DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! Unless you want to get scammed.

I have bought many things from Timewell. They have a great variety of items .

We have received a few things that didnt work or were missing parts and they guarantee everything, so we simple returned it . Lindsay has been extremely helpful and accommodating .

Advertised and shipped me the wrong item, won't cover return shipping fees

Timewell Auctions - Advertised and shipped me the wrong item, won't cover return shipping...

I won a lot of theirs and got it shipped through their shipping partner. The item I received was clearly a different item than the one in the pictures on their listing.

I reached out to them and they say mistakes happen and to send it back for a refund. The problem is they refuse to cover shipping and want me to again use their shipping partner to facilitate the return. Because of this arrangement, shipping it back to them would cost more than I'd get in the refund. I pointed this out and they stated their was nothing they could do even though it was them who made the mistake.

They at best shipped me the wrong item or at worst used pictures of an entirely different item to falsely advertise a lot that they didn't inspect at all.

I've had other auction houses ship me the wrong item in the past and they all either facilitated an exchange or refund which is what you'd expect when they make the mistake. Ultimately I wouldn't trust their listings.

Poor complaint resolution

Won bid on a matress listed on receipt and auction as "queen" size foldable..even measurements were wrong on the ad. Drove 45 minutes to pick up items (purchased 4 in total).

Sent email about problem and no response and when I called was advised would refund but had to return item with no consideration for my expenses incurred on their screw up.

Poor attitude/complaint resolution. Should have credited item cost back..a whole $16 has lost my respect and any good words passed on for this outfit..nice people when picking up items though.

Got nothing but damaged goods and bid on items that were wrongly categorized.

Bought $1000 worth of stuff half of the stuff I bought is damaged ie coffee tables with large damage to them without prior knowledge and bought items that were listed as one thing on the auction and then once receive are completely different

I was conned and never received my purchase. When a month went by and after several attempts to get clarification, I was told it was on its way.

Now 2 months later, I am well aware it was fraud. I am posting this as a warning to other consumers to be vigilant about this company because they have unethical business practice.

Did you contact the shipping company regarding your item?

I am the owner of the company and have never heard of your issue - and as a small business owner, we feel passionate about our customers and customer service. Again, we do NOT ship through our company, we use a third party.

Poor customer service

Won some items from a auction on January 18 2023 and I was told that one item was to costly to ship so the other items were to be shipped by a shipping company and I have tried on several occasions to find my item and when they will be shipped and today is February 3 and still no response from shipper yet l have now ask for a refund for not delivering my items and l just received a phone call from a shipping company and the told me that it would cost me 115 dollars to have it delivered but if they deliver it it would be 65.00 l feel l just got scammed so I recommend don't buy from this auction site because you will be waiting for a long time for delivery as well as they will not call you back or reply to your email.

Buisness bullying

This buisness I have serious problems with they just threatened to ban me for all online auctions because I warned people about them they are pushy for u to etransfer. Won't accept certified chqs .

Paypal or secured forms of payments etransfer from a buyer to seller is risky before receiving items. Especially for 1300 dollars they don't work with u .and if u don't do what they want they ban u from thier website and all other auctioneers they threaten u stay away I see lots of complaints against them online I am not the first and won't be the last.stay away

Karna, As I said in our discussions, I am sorry you had gone through a rough time since our auction. When you messaged originally, you stated that you did not have a credit card, I said you could register with your VISA DEBIT and pay via etransfer.

You agreed. On the last day of the sale, I messaged again and you agreed that you could etransfer. Then you said your card was locked and you could not etransfer until you got a new card - which is curious since online banking does not lock when a card is missing. I told you that we could wait until the pick up but we could not bring back items from a pick up without them being paid.

We are a small business with specific terms and conditions that you agreed to when you registered. You the stated your card would not be in until the 20th (which was 2 weeks after our sale closed). I told you that this was not acceptable and we cannot wait for payment. We asked you to call us MULTIPLE times (I have screenshots of all of our conversations) and you chose not to.

We attempted to work things out but we do NOT accept cheques or PayPal. Credit card or etransfer or cash ON THE PICK UP DAY are the only terms of payment as you were made very aware. Also you live in Ottawa and would not be able to pay via cash as you are not here. Three days after the pick up event, you stated you had a death in the family and would not be able to call, and while we are sympathetic to that, we simply cannot wait to be paid for items that were a week overdue from the last day of the auction.

I am sorry you feel like we are at fault here, and as I said, we are sympathetic to family problems, but we are a small business and this is a large invoice that we simply cannot take the chance that it would not be paid. Again, per the terms and conditions that you agree to when you register, if items are not picked up, they are considered abandoned - and you did not pick up or pay.

We have been in business for over 30 years, and are not a “scam” as you say - we just ask that people who buy things are able to pay for them in the required time frame. We do wish you luck with getting a new card and any family issues you are going through, and hope things work out.

I had notified timewell that my bank card got cancelled before auction ended I offered to pay cash at pickup and certified chq they refused .I offered to pay when my new card came in. They only wanted etrsnsfer of 1300 .

I explained I could not etransfer my card got cancelled .this order was fir a charity event.

They blocked me and said they were notifying other auction sites to block me .all I wanted to do was pay for my order . This was for an event to send a terminally I'll child to Disney surely they could have accommodated.

Apology not accepted

I informed timewell as I was auctioning that my card got cannecelled bank card they said it was ok I won auction and they insisted I pay etrsnsfer I could not my card linked to my account.i told them new one was in mail. I offered cash at pickup certified chq they refused only etransfer .

They then blocked me from thier site and messanger and said they would inform other bidding websites to block me from allowing me to bid .

I saw many other complaints on them 8 offered to finish my transaction they would not allow me to . This was for a charity event surely they could have come to a resolution to let me pay really mean situation

Lied about valuable items gone missing

At my pickup of an auction I won, I was informed of a mistake on their part and I was told that the owner of the estate mistakingly forgot to leave the only 2 valuable items in the lot. It was a Dresden figure and 3 Wolfe original sculptures.

If this was true or not ( as I find it hard to believe with those two items being missing), Ive Heard of this happening there before. With their 18% buyers premium, this place is awful and stay far away from them.

We are sorry you are upset. We are absolutely human and can make a mistake - and we forgot your items at a pick up.

You are always welcome to attend a pick up personally or send someone on your behalf to pick up. As far as our fees, we try hard to keep fees low for consignors and buyers.

It is absolutely your choice where you spend your money and we understand that and will take your feedback into consideration. Thank you for your thoughts and we are sorry that you were unsatisfied.

Tired of broken and missing parts

Every time I've bid and won an item there has been an issue...most often it's broken or there are important missing parts (more than a screw). Last time the part would have cost $70 to replace when I bid $65 for the item.

I am sorry you are upset. All items purchased at liquidation auctions are returnable in 7 days.

We have a very open return policy if you call. Also we are very clear that all liquidation items are store returns and might not be complete which is why we offer the policy.

Stay Clear!

I contacted Timewell to inquire about a set of men's watches they were selling online.

My question was simple. "Do they wind and run?" The response was "being sold as found".

Well that doesn't answer the question and seems to be misleading on purpose. How hard is it to check, or do they know that the watches don't work?

After reading some other reviews around the web, I won't bid, not worth the risk.

Wednesday May 23, New Dundee auction. So the auction begins..with many fine and valuable antique furniture pieces and much much more!

As I keep trying to bid higher pretty much right from the beginning, the host

(Timewell) internet connection goes down. As lots keep closing and the server keeps dissconecting me, I call Timewells owners and ask them, is there something wrong with your internet? She sais yes..then I ask her, are you going to pause it, or restart it so people can bid? Lol...she sais NO!

She is NOT going to do anything about it but to wait for the server to get reconnected. When I told her that the site accepted my higher bids on items and then were sold at lower bids, she said oh well you should put your high bid on items at the beginning...?..?? Does that even make sense? So basically at least the 6 things I was bidding on were all sold at half of what I would have paid for them not to mention who ever else got screwed out of a fair bidding auction...The victim here is the client who hired these bozos to get the highest value for her charised and valuable belongings..They simply did not give a *** about their client getting fair value for her items.

Shame on you Timewell for your unprofessional disscusting business practice. GFY!!

They use to be good then it slowed down and now they are selling anything that comes in the door including items that should have been in the garbage nothing like buying moldy musty stinky items .Even if they know an item is broke it gets sold as all sales are as is Even incorrect descriptions are allowed .You get this from the owner "don't bid too much and you wont get burnt as bad" if you call you more than likely will get the owner hes a miserable guy that should retire maybe this is why hes not at the auctions anymore
