Sketchy Locksmith near LAX

My daughter, son & friends locked her keys in the car at a restaurant near LAX. They Googled "locksmith near LAX" and one that came up was "Tim Locksmith's" (sic), 323-454-****. (That number is also listed for "Will Locksmith's" in Moorpark - same incorrect apostrophe.) When they called, a man told them it'd be $55 for the service call.

He arrived in a plain, black SUV, leaned on the car and informed them that it was $55 just to get him out there; it'd be an additional $165 for him to unlock the car. They're all in their early 20's but not naive - they told him no way. He then pretended to punch something into his phone and told them that he'd go ahead and do it for an additional $125. They told him to get lost; he said they still owed him the $55 service call.

Fortunately my kids are not stupid and told him that as he hadn't done anything, they didn't owe him anything. He then just left when he realized he couldn't bamboozle them. I subsequently looked up the address, 9374 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90045; according to Google street view it's fake.

Always use a licensed, bonded locksmith!
