Tidewater Motor Credit - Home Depot Credit Card Review from Rancho Cucamonga, California
I wasn't informed on any due amount or the date it was due, to be charged 30 % interest, messed up my credit, then when I realized i tried to pay, took me 9 phone calls, 3 different trips online, they make it to where you can't pay so the interest charges rack up, i only got this card to improve my credit, i spent 130 at home depot to give this *** company 160, and I had the cash in my pocket. Don't let them get you too.

More issue than I have time to talk about
Tidewater Motor Credit - Auto Loan Review from Tucker, Georgia
After being informed that loan was approved I was told I had to put insurance on the vehicle immediately which was fine, until I was contacted to confirm income. I was then told I wasn't allowed to have 2 cars only, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Because over the past 5 years I've had 3 cars that were just in my name. Then, I was told that the only way they will complete I had to find a co-signer that doesn't have a open car loan as well. I don't know where this company get their regulations from, but in my 25 years of purchasing cars this is the first with unrealistic regulations! Whatever happen to as long as you can afford to pay the note after confirming income that would be it.
I've never purchased a vehicle and be called back to return it. I will never recommend this company to anyone!!!

Tidewater Motor Credit - Auto Loan Review from Los Angeles, California
My car was totalled. Insurance paid out most of the vehicle and Gap was covering the rest since I still owed more on the loan.
I called my gap company to see why the check was approx $900 under paid, and they told me they paid out the full remaining balance that should be due on my account. They told me that they should not be that far off considering I have never missed a payment, and even if I had, they cover up to 2 missed payments. They told me based on my loan amount, payments and my transaction history, I should call Tidewater to find out why they are charging me so much and have them research why they are off by that much. I've tried calling, they told me I have to speak with a particular insurance department, I have been leaving voicemails and no one has called me back.
Yet they continue to have their payment dept and auto systems call and text me that my accound is passed due on the remaining balance and are adding negative reporting to the credit bureaus.
I've aways thought being their customer was a horrible mistake, now I see even trying to close my account with them is a nightmare. This company needs to be shut down!!

This is a awful company. They take advantage of people that are struggling.
RUN if you go to a dealership and they say tidewater run. Bought a 16,000 car 2 years ago and still owe 14500.

Tidewater Motor Credit Auto Loan Review from Atlanta, Georgia
My car was repossessed by Tidewater, they resold the car and got $8,000 for the car. I set up a payment arrangements with them to pay what I could afford on the balance due which is was around $10,000 after they resold it.
I have in writing from them the agreed payment arrangement between them and me. Not even a year into the payment arrangement they started harassing me to pay more and I told them I can't. Now they're calling my employer and lying and saying that they are calling for verification of employment to see how much I make.
THESE ARE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE UNDER HANDED PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy
Oh joy, can't wait to talk to these people...
I have been trying to reach this company by phone and/or e-mail for two days to let them know my payment would be late. Guess it won't matter since it appears they will be nasty about it.
But, in reading these reviews, they seem to answer a number of questions why it is taking so long to pay off the loan, why I can't get a human to answer the phone (actually, my calls do not even go through), why I never receive an actual accrual/itemized statement. If I hadn't been so desperate to refinance the car loan at the time, I probably would have paid more attention to the terms of these loan sharks.

Fees
Every time I get a bill there is a 20 dollar late fee but I did not pay late most times early. Also the on line never works for payment and its a 10 dollar fee to pay by phone ughhh come on guys get it together .
I have had customer service issues of no one telling the other what is going on and they are confused on who is doing what. Customer service has always been friendly and they try to help .
They need a better payment program and web pay and to update info in systems and they be fine . along with not sending fees for something that is not late.

I'm having a difficult time trying to find a website to make a dam payment. I've made payments over the phone using my atm with rfi chip & my #s have been stolen twice by the so called secured card.
I don't trust the phone or people on the other end. I'd rather punch in the numbers to website.
