Verified ReviewerTerrible company broke transmission
- Stage 3 trans upgrade done.
- About 1000 mi in, the trans only goes to 3rd/4th or rev.
- The shaft wobbled; shim was wrong and internals damaged.
paid these guys to do a stage 3 trans upgrade. 1000miles in gears to go 3rd 4th or rev.
shaft wobbles all over sent to professional and determined shimmed incorrectly and destroyed the internals and shaft.
they won't reimburse for the labor to get fixed. be warned they do bad work.
Preferred solution: Full refund

- Jeremy rebuilt my T56 Corvette transmission in-house.
- He sent clear photos and explained costs.
- The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome.
My experience with Ticks Performance in Mt.Airy this 4th of July weekend 2016 i have to say was incredible. I deal with Jeremy getting my t56 Corvette transmission rebuilt.Which this kid is so picky but smart *** *** in doing his work but however it was unrepairable once they got down in it.but i dont trust shops so before i could even request photos.
Jeremy insisted that i come and look at it before he cracked it open since i was only 1 hour away.i took his word only but he not only emailed me clear photos and also helps price me what was damaged outside of the rebuild kit.Well that was outta my price range, but these guys made it work for me and put together a complete rebuilt trans in house and made it affordable for me ..Everyone in the whole office will shake youre hand and give you instructions and paperwork how to take care of youre trans.I had a awesome experience esp when the owner and staff make you feel welcome. These are a fun staff ans set of guys..*** they even helped me with my torque tube while it was out ..Im so glad they help me out ..I recommend them to anyone, now its time to go back and let the other guys do a cam,and intake, exhaust on my corvette...thanks again for a Wonderful experience. ..Rodney

- Rebuilt the tranny with 80k miles; bearings were said fine.
- Three months later a cheap seal failed; bearings were shot; $347 to get home.
I had them rebuilds my tranny with 80k on it they told me the bearings were fine and after 3 months the cheap output seal they used came out and the bearings are shot it cost me 347 to get home they guy at the desk said they build them to be abused not driven on the street and they only give free labor once its back in their shop they won't reimburse any damaged parts or tow fees so in three months of street miles I wore out their race tranny, the truth is they didn't inspect the bearings right and left me stranded
