Voluntary surrender

I had bought a vehicle and it was financed through chrysler financial times got hard so I did the most responsible thing I could think of and did a voluntary surrender on the vehicle chrysler financial sold it at auction and I owe the balance. I don't dispute that but what I am angery at is that I have been paying tiburon financial for five years and granted some times I could not make the full payment but i would notify them I would send something i owed 18000 on the loan after auction at the time it was sold we owed a little over 8,000 so we paid almost 10,000 in five years We got a letter in the mail and it said that the account was sold and that we owed 15,000 and some change. So I gave them 10,000 for nothing ? Also I have tried to get my payment history from them but they say that they don't keep that informai but how did they track my payment history ? I need it for employment I have called them numerous times all they say is that they will look into it

I know this is over a year ago...but, you can look at your credit report and prove how many payments you made. It is tracked.

Harassing rude phone calls

I have received repeated calls asking for personal information info and to identify myself. I told John Sabian not to call on my cell phone and at work but the calls continue. This has been going on for severals weeks and now receiving calls from Tonya Sausberry. I refuse to share my personal information with them such social security, birth date and address. I looked up the phone number and found it belonged to Tiburon as these callers do not identify themselves but demand that you verify personal information. These rude solicators need to stop as it is harassment. Jean

It's not harassment or anything down that line. They ask for you to very your date of birth, last 4digs of your social security #, or address, to make sure that they are talking to the right party with out disclosing any information to the wrong parties.

Cause if they do disclose wrong information to the wrong parties then that could come back on them & that right there will be breaking the FDCPA laws. Now if your telling someone to stop calling your place of employment or your cell phone then yes by all means they shouldn't be calling you what so ever. But you can't get mad at them for doing there job & asking you to verify some information or wondering how they got your info.

Because more than likely whatever debt they are collecting on (hospital debt) you gave permission (signing papers) to let them transfer any info to a 3rd party/collection/debt buyer if its uncollectable. Just a thought to ponder upon

Guest

It is not harassment legally speaking if they are simply calling you in attempt to collect a debt. HOWEVER, a few states do restrict how many times they can call you a week, and if you tell them to NOT call you again, they cannot!

If they do, sue them.

As far as verifying last 4 of social, or date of birth. Well it's a requested security question by some banks so that it lessens the possibility of discussing your personal matter with someone other than you.

Treated me fairly!

I had a good experience with Tiburon... so I wanted to look on line to see the press they were getting. I can only say they treated me very fairly in getting squared away on a bill i owed. I had to request a verification of what I owed and they were efficient in scheuling a call back and sent me the info i needed. This was an outstanding financial bill that had been out there for over a year. Our finances had improved from the past. They gave me some good solid advice and worked out all the details. Thanks

The above "review" is either from the company itself or it has changed its ways.We don't respond to their incessant hangup calls because they do not leave messages on the answering machine after attempting to spoof the Caller ID.They send mailings with "bows" around them (as though they are presents) without proper return address identification as as a follow-up to the anonymous phone calls. We are debt-free.

Guest

wording makes this obvious its either paid boosting or one of their PR teams trying to fool more people. Yet to meet someone who has these kinds of debt refer to things like "outstanding financial bill"

The caller would not identify his company or intent.

The caller would not tell me what he could "help" me with unless I would identify myself with social security number or other personal data. He would do nothing in the way of telling me what his company did or could help me with unless I identified myself as he would be breaking federal laws if he divulged my personal situation with verification. Very frustrating experience as we were at a informational standoff but he wouldn't back off or quit trying to tell me that he was only trying to help me. Even when I hinted at what he might be calling about he would not tell me the intent of his call.

"Employment" you are for sure just saying it the way it is. You know the quote there.

It's who you know, or who you blow.

The 2nd one will get you all the way to the top! Or out of hooters and with him!

Guest

They are *** collecting for *** Wells Fargo and other criminals who have raped homeowners out of their wealth and destroyed neighborhoods. I would be ashamed to work at such a *** hole.

Guest

great place to work if youre in the management team. if youre just a collector, they treat you less than.

two managers and they both suck at communications. the manager egos are huge and if you bruise one of their egos or know more than they do, you will be fired.

male manager will threaten your job and the owners are blind to his ***. the female manager walks around with her nose in the air every day all day, no wonder why people dont like being on her team.

Guest

MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU SHOULD JUST IDENTIFY YOURSELF SO THEY CAN MOVE ON WITH THE CALL.

Tiburon trying to collect from a corpse

Tiburon Collection Agency has been sending collection notices for several months to a woman that died over a year ago. The company for whom they are working was notified at the time of the woman's demise that she had no immediate survivors or estate, which was established by an attorney. And, per their request, a death certificate was made available to them, yet the attempts and harassment continues. A call to one of the company's supervisors stated the file would be closed and the collection attempts stopped...that was six months ago and yet collection notices keep arriving at the deceased's old address. The next step is to let the legal eagles take care of Tiburon.

Just throw them in the trash. If they call, get a cheap whistle at a dollar store and blow it in their ear.

Scam collection agency

I received a collection notice on a shipment from the Acaiberrybreeze company. This shipment was over 12 months ago (3/12/09) and was paid for on my credit card before I even received it. Upon seeing the charges from the company on my credit card statement I called Acaiberrybreeze to cancel any further shipments. I received nothing else from them and have not heard from them since, yet I have received a collection notice from Tiburon Financial dated April 29, 2010 and giving me 30 days to respond. I did not receive the letter until May 10, 2010. I think this is a bogus collection effort. I do not know how they got my name and record unless they stole it somehow from the Acaiberrybreeze company who has my credit card on record. I think this must be a scam. Do not know who else to report this to since they have multiple state addresses on the billing notice.

This is the most ridiculous defamation I have ever seen, the company that shipped the package to you failed to update their Billing, a collection agency will always send you a thirty days notice because after ignoring it for thirty days you are acknowledging a valid debt, how you find this agency as a scam is utterly beyond any thing I coulis possibly imagine. You ordered a *** product from ashit company leave three collector out of your complaints

Guest

Same acaiberrybreeze claim... what will you do..ignore the letter from Tiburon??

Guest

You probably recieved the letter way before than and did not open it till May 10th. Then you waited eight days to write this.

Very Sincere

Tiburon was very sincere in wanting to help me settle my past due amount owed on my account. They let me know that they were here to help maintain good communication with my creditor and work toward getting my debt paid off. They just didnt make demands like the other collection companies calling me. My family was in a place of huge financial burden and Tiburon gave me hope that I could work out of the hole we found ourselves in. We have set up a plan to make regular payments to tiburon and I feel confident dealing with them as well. Thanks for being professional and sincere.

Tiburon means shark in spanish. They are bill collectors trying to present themselves as pillars to their industry and community.

You've been warned..

Guest

Edit,

I was thinking they were nice but they screwed me.They kept calling and would hang up and tried to get my debt paid off but they misplaced my records and now I'm way worst than when I started to dealing with them.

Sorry for the missinformation

They Helped Me out

Tiburon Financial called me on a debt that I owed. Out of all the collection companies calling me, I found that Tiburon was interested in helping me. I will pay them before anyone else. I dont know why all collection agencies cant operate like Tiburon. I spoke to 2 people at Tiburon, they were consistent in the facts they gave me and how nice they treated me. I realized I did owe the debt on my car loan, but I was struggling with how I will pay things off and get back in good standing financially. They did not make me feel like a bad person like most companies calling me.

I suspect identity theft

john sabian with tiburon financial called me as a possible relative to someone who is past due, same last name , no relation, john and Bob Thapa both ask for social security numbers before beginning the conversation... John hung up on me when I asked about company info. Obviously this is one shady company and will be investigated completely. I can't imagine they are a professional collections company the way they handle their service skills. I am not nor will I ever use any services by this company . They are based on Nebraska and so the complaint will also carry over to Nebraska's Consumer affairs and their credibility will be investigated by authorities in California as well. This is what happens when you even hint at identity theft.

I am seeing a lot of threads complaining about this Tiburon company. Why in every thread does a supposed former employee of Tiburon come into the conversation and defend Tiburon and belittle the original poster, but in a way that doesn't really address the original poster's remarks? This all indeed looks like a complete scam to me.

After receiving a collections notice on March 27, 2010 for a product charge that I had canceled back on September 22, 2009, I called Tiburon to see why I was being charged. The man that answered was instantly extremely rude.

He did not hear out why I was even calling, he just asked for the account number listed on the letter and instantly went into his "script" for dealing with calls about this company. He did not listen to anything I had to say or any questions I had. He kept repeating that I didn't cancel within the trial period and that all of these people keep calling in because they didn't read the directions and now they are "boo-hooing" about being charged. He said it was my fault and I had given out too much information and maybe I shouldn't shop on the internet.

I asked why he was being so rude to me for no reason and he said "Excuse me? I am NOT in the business of customer serivce, I am a debt collector." I asked why then HE was the one answering the phone when customers called. He then proceeded to belittle me and tell me that I don't know how to watch my money. I told him I DID read the fine print and it was the company that sold me the product that was not honoring their end of the free trial.

He continued to defend the company and claim that they've been in business for 85 years. When I asked him how to get in contact with them (their website was no longer existing) he said look on the internet. When I said I had looked everywhere for their website or a phone number he said obviously I didn't know how to spell it. I told him I was not ***, I knew how to spell it, it was simply not there anymore.

I even found an old link for the website but when I clicked on it was routed to a "new" skin cream web page with the same look as the Pliatrol one, just with a new name. He said it was there an hour ago and I told him I didn't believe that for a second and if he could find it then why couldn't he tell me the web address or phone number and he said that wasn't his job. He would not give me any information on how to contact the company but kept defending them saying they were a great company with a great reputation. I asked why then I had read HUNDREDS of posts online about people being scammed by this company the same exact way I was, with which he went back into his rant about how all these people didn't read the fine print well enough and we were all "*** for not reading it, or maybe we just didn't know how to read." I finally said I would be calling back to continue disputing the charge but I could not stand to talk to him anymore.

I was appalled at the way I was treated and spoken to by this man and couldn't believe this company was still in business. I hope no one has to deal with this company.

Guest

You are an ***! Butt kissing won't get you anywhere...

Guest

Kevin, I had the same thing happen to me...I purchased face cream from Pliatrol and cancelled the "monthly service" after 30 days. They had already shipped product for the second month so I paid an additional $88.90 on top of the $4.95 for the trial. I paid both charges and didn't receive any additional shipments or charges on my credit card. This was in July 2009. Yesterday, March 2010 I received a collections letter from Tiburon Financial saying I owe them but they don't say how much. This is a complete scam....I don't owe anyone anything and I have my notes on credit card bills with cancellations and payments for product I received.

I have never gotten any notice of anything owed to any company untill now, let alone any notice of judgement or impending judgement.

When I called the company I just got a message to leave my contact information. Is this Identity theft scam???

Guest

i have lived in the same place for years and im not running from anything. the rip off vitimin company is in nebraska too .

is there some law in nebraska that protects these sahdy companys?

I remember having a hard time getting the vitimin company to cancell my order but i only recieved the one time shipment from it and it was payed for so i dont know how they come up with this ***. Im calling the better business bureau today and filing a complaint against them all!!

Guest

This company is obviously a part of a bigger scam operation. i made a one time purchase last year from a vitimin company and all of a sudden i get a letter from tiburon saying i owe them but they dont say how much?

this is a scam !!!

I have never gotten any notice of anything owed to any company untill now, let alone any notice of jugement or impending judgement. They picked the wrong sob to mess with.

I KNW JOHN SABIN, HE IS A VERY GOOD COLLECTOR. HOWEVER, N THE WORLD THERE R ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH SAME NAMES, THE ONLY WAY TO FIND THE CORRECT PERSON IS TO VERIF THE LAST 4 NUMBERS OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY....IF PEOPLE WOULD PAY THEIR BILLS AND STOP RUNNING FROM PLACE TO PLACE, THN OTHER PEOPLE/RELATIVES WOULDNT HVE TO BE BOTHER!!!!

ITS A SHAME THAT PEOPLE GET SERVICES/MERCHANDISE FROM COMPANIES AND ACT LIKE IT FREE....WELL LET ME TELLL U ....NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FREE, NOT EVEN A GLASS OF WATER!!!!!!

SO IF WE R ASKING FOR THE LAST 4 - DONT BE ALARM, WE R JUST TRYING TO LOCATE THE CORRECT PERSON.... I HOPE THIS GIVE U SOME INSIGHT....AS FAR AS TIBURON....IT IS THE BEST COLLECTION AGENCY THT I HVE WORKED AT.....,MY HATS OFF TO TIBURON!!!!!

The representative was so nasty and disrespectful

I know that my the rest of my money was due for my car. I attempted to settle my debt, even after it went to Tiburon Financial. After trying to settle other debts, I miscounted by bills which made me overdraft. When I tried to explain what happened, the rep just cut me off and went on hollering that I better find a way and I need to manage my money better, on and on. I felt majorly offended because I could have ducked them but I tried to be an adult. Something needs to be done about people like that.

I spoke with Susan at Tiburon Financial and I was floored when she said to me "Are you out your friggin mind? Are you on drugs?" I was just stunned.

I asked for her supervisor or her manager and she refused saying he won't believe you and hung up on me. I thought I was being reasonable.

I don't have half the balance! I offered her what I thought was a lot of borrowed money.

Guest

This place is full of *** I swear. They call your house and when u answer they never say anything they just hang up.

I sent them a payment thinking I was doing the right thing and some retarded lady name Kathy called my house saying that it was not enough she dmanded more money. I asked her to send my check back so I could void it and she said no because legally it was their money. A few days later the check was cashed and credited to my account. I sent a another payment and same thing happened.

I finally got sick of it and hired a bankruptcy attorney.

Well I provided them with my attorneys phone number and info they needed and they call back like a month later saying that I have no bankruptcy attorney and that my bankruptcy has been closed. *** From now on when they call I either aviod their phonecalls or I answer with "Pizza Hut will this be carry out or delivery." If they keep on they will have a harrasment suit.

Guest

I believe it is illegal to contact my brother and sister to find out if they can pay my bills. This is such a disgrace to the privacy acts, it is disgraceful that they are allowed to practice.
