Three Rivers Volkswagen - 2005 Volkswagen Jetta Review from Findlay, Ohio

I brought in my volkswagon', that I had just purchased because the dash panel brake light came on. They called and said that they had fixed the problem.

Three days later, the brakes were squealing. I disassembled the brake which was making the noise and to my amazement, discovered that the mechanic had stripped the brake sensor wires and taped them together so that the brake sensor light would go out. It cost me new brakes, rotors and labor. 500 dollars.

Could have killed me because they wouldn't put new brake pads on, which is all that was needed.

3 Rivers VW 40K Service $$$

I posted an earlier complaint about my 40K mile service at 3 Rivers VW in PA. After doing some service price checking at another local VW dealer in this area, it seems that 3 Rivers VW was not far off from the other dealer's price for the same 40K service, plus tire rotation & balance (extra).

I still find it very hard to believe that this service should cost me over $400 in labor, since no in-depth maintenance was involved.

Wii

never again have my VWs serviced when I'm too busy to ask questions. Too much money flushed.

Three Rivers VW, PA, 40K Service RIP-OFF

I took my wife's 2008 VW Jetta in for the scheduled 40K mile service. I own 2 VWs.

The service mgr. called me and said it would cost more for this service, due to fact our Jetta has a DSG transmission and he recommended replacing the transmission oil and filter. The total bill would cost approximately $800 for the complete service + tire rotation and balance (which it did needed). I was Shocked and Pi**ed.

I was scheduled for a 2 week Air Force Reserves trip to Peurto Rico. So I was pressed for time. I really liked this dealership, prior to this service.

Total bill was $829.80 cents, labor was $425.10 of that total. OUCH!

Three Rivers VW service is totally overpriced and they lie about what your car "needs." They tried to tell me that I needed brakes, so I took it to a mechanic who said I still had at least 6 months to go till I would need new ones. The work that is done is good and I have always been satisfied, although the people they have/had dealing with the customers have been rude, uneducated about their own products, and, at times, argumentative.

Consumer Reports once wrote and said that "car dealers make 91% of their profit from the service department" Think about that, of all the cars they sell, they still make the most from taking advantage of people with over charging them for service they probably dont even need.
