Cost of replacement part

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

In order to replace a window ballast (less than 1 sq. inch in size) it would cost me over $100.

I had one replaced a few years ago and that was $80. I could replace it myself.

Their excuse this time was that my house is over 20 years old. It was built in 2001

Thermotech Premium Windows And Doors Window Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The windows are of poorly made glass, which everyone should know has only a one year guarentee on stress breaks, which most likely you wouldn't think about as they post a 20 year guarentee on glass leaks. The windows have a large amount of moisture forms on inside of windows.

Thermo-Tech Windows & Doors

DO NOT BUY THERMO-TECH WINDOWS and/or DOORS!!!!

Do yourself a favor, as I am trying to protect consumers either replacing their windows and doors or building a new home. I will post on Angie's List when I figure out how to do it. As for right now……. be aware of this:

DO NOT BUY THERMO-TECH WINDOWS and/or DOORS, as they will not honor their warranty. They will not replace your defective windows or doors!!!!

My wife & I moved into our beautiful home last Thanksgiving. We have two Thermo-Tech Sliding Glass Doors. The one in the basement is great. However, the one upstairs off the kitchen (to the deck) is defective (and/or damaged) and has been since we moved in. It leaks air and when the wind gusts over 40 mph it makes a god-awful sound. The door, and also the screen door have a difficult time sliding smoothly. I do not know why it is defective, but my own theory is that it was either knocked over in shipping or knocked over while in the care of Lincoln Lumber. If you are a Lincoln, Nebraska resident, do not buy windows and doors from them, as they will not help you after the sale. We moved here from a home which I built over twenty years ago, so I am not an *** about how things work.

Thermo-Tech representatives/experts and Lincoln Lumber experts have all weighed in on different procedures. The door has been re-set, re-adjusted, and re-shimmed and still it has problems. The framework has even been re-squared. I said from the very beginning that the door was defective or damaged and it needs to be replaced. However, no one believed me, so I just let all of them (the builder, Lincoln Lumber, the framer, their representative, etc.) waste their time and mine trying to figure it out. It was pretty much "the blind leading the blind". We have a one year warranty on the house with the seller and I can pretty much guarantee that my wife & I are NOT going to pay for the replacement door.

Be careful who you buy from. I don't know how to use Angie's List, but I will post this on there when I do.

We have had multiple seals break on out Thermotech windows and panes of glass cracked! My house is only 7 years old.

They will replace your windows once but replace them with the same inefficient product so you a re guaranteed to have problems again.

Terrible customer service in their Sauk Rapids MN location. Never again will I buy Thermotech!

Have the same problems, but they won't replace glass stress cracks on the windows after one year.

Cheap windows, much condensation on inside of window.
