Beware the World Newpaper
Well, yet again, The World Newspaper has blown it. We received a phone call demanding money from The World.
What?! Did I get a bill?! No! I know April's bill should be coming out soon, but it's still April!
I fully expected a bill for about $90.00 any day, but today I get a collection call saying that I owe them $190.00! What for? The woman tells me it's for April's bill and May's bill in advance. Okay, why didn't I get a bill, and why are they calling me in April about it.
So, we finally spoke to a manager, since this is like the 4th time they have done this in the last 6 months. The manager tells me no, it's for April and some mysterious $70.00 bill from 60 days ago. I beg to differ, I recall running no ads in the time frame they mention. And where is the bill if I owe from 60 days ago?!
They are a total mess. They NEVER send me a bill, I have to ask, and some mystery company in Montana sends me the bill via email. I am beginning to think there is some kind of fraud going on. This is the third time I have had to climb up the ladder of authority to get some kind of resolution to their erroneous billing, lack of billing altogether, and at least once, getting billed for an ad that never appeared in the paper at all!
Nearly every person I speak to in their company is rude, combative, and completely unwilling to look into my account as we have requested repeatedly. If you decide to advertise with The World Newspaper, watch your billing closely and make sure your ads are in the paper as they should be.
