Verified Reviewer |Reside at Polo Club Apartments, A Wooten Company Property
We have been living at Polo Club Apartments, a Wooten Property, for a few years. We are happy here.
The manager is very friendly and helpful. We've had a couple of maintenance issues and the past couple of years they have been resolved quickly.
We also like that there are laundry facilities, a workout room, and a pool on site. Now that they have a company managing the pool, it's clean and open more often during the summer.

The absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE on the planet. Horrible, rude individuals to deal with - whether it's the property or corporate office.
They completely FAKE their own reviews on each & every apartment site - with 5 Stars as that is complete BS!! I'm not sure how they even get away with having a company left. Except people need a place to live - and UNFORTUNATELY for Springfield MO people - this stupid awful company has WAY too many apartments to choose. They DO NOT care about ANYONE, EVER.
All properties - and I called at least 10-12 DO NOT call you back. EVER. You get an answering service EVERY TIME, you can send an email or text on apt. websites, but You WILL NOT get a reply.
You pay money to put an application in. (SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY!!) Then hear NOTHING and then 3 days later, get an email (NOT PHONE CALL) that they need more info.! You send the info they need by Email - then they LIE about not getting it!!! When Someone is trying to look for a place - Time is of the ESSENCE!!
I get a few days wait, but THAT IS NOT WHAT THEY DO!!! They are a f** Property Manager co. You would THINK they would know this!! But again, too many properties, too may awful people working there - apt.
& corp. that they will always be able to run their business in this horrible/awful manner!!!

I have no problem with anything to do with the ER call except there was a terrible echo on the call. It was as if I could hear myself yell everything back at me after every word I spoke. It was very distracting.
Aside from the potential 'equipment ' malfunction, the person on the other end of the line was very friendly.
- Good value
- Overall very friendly
- Great location
Them not holding up to their lease agreement.
My wife and I had to move from our old place, as we were driving we saw a sign that said rental office, managed by The Wooten Company to cut it short we were deceived from the beginning, by price and the repairs they promised to make after we moved in, and location due to them stalling. When we told them about the repairs that needed to be done they would get a new property manager, they did fix a couple of things finally after 4 months, we decided to take action, I got a hold of different city officials, attorneys, attorney general, and all the people you could possibly talk to, to get the problems solved.
The peeling paint on the ceiling of the garage, and inside started falling. I decided to get a test kit and to see if it was lead and sure enough it was. We called the city, they came out and inspected and found a little health code violations. Then a few days later we received a letter stating they had 9 days to comply, so we decided to call an attorney and ask for some advice, he said it wouldn't be advisable to stay there while they were making repairs then later on that day they called and made an appointment to check out what was wrong.
They looked at the things and the one guy was angry and making comments, but as they were walking out I mentioned the bow in the floor, he stated it wasn't in his report. So then I got suspicious about the whole thing that was going on. Then the next day she called and stated that since we couldn't be there while they were making repairs, she stated that basically we had a choice either move out by the 31st of March and if we moved out by the end of Feb. they would give us are restoration fee back, and we wouldn't have to pay rent for the month of March we were shocked, because we did everything it said in the lease where they didn't at all.
So they are the ones who violated it, but the city or state officials, won't make them abide by the law. So no matter what you read in landlord tenant laws for Missouri it doesn't apply to Springfield.
Beware. This will probably be my last post because they will silence me some way since they are so big.
