never even tried to reach out to me

Original review Sep 06, 2023

Had a back fusion done by Dr Kainth. The hospital (spring hospital) that I was in for recovery was short staffed and my med's were not given when needed.

Then I was told the pain and discomfort I'm experiencing could take a year to get over but my short term disability expires after 3 months and this doctor won't sign papers to extend it and basically expects someone to work thru pain or risk losing job.

I would not recommend this place to do any back surgery also he expects you to recovery with only one prescription of pain meds. I hurt worse more now than before procedure

Inadequate care and business office

I have seen 4 of the doctors in this establishment and had 7 procedures there. I have many issues with my bones and arthritis.

I was happy with my doctor's care until I recommended that my mother see Dr. Kim for her knees. Dr. Kim did a steroid injection into her knee without numbing it or any kind of guidance where the needle should go.

My mother was in tears during and after the injection. She is now terrified to see another doctor, no matter how bad she hurts. I have waited for long periods of time to be seen (including over 2 hours due to the staff forgetting to put my chart back). Then, after every one of my procedures, they have made sure to bill my insurance on the follow-up appointments, so I not only had to pay my part of the surgery, but a copay every follow up I had.

I have been overcharged twice for surgery, and it is almost impossible to get that money back. I have worked in the medical profession for 35 years, so I have tried to stay loyal to this practice, but enough is enough.

The service is terrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was a patient for five years I trusted the pain management Dr Kim I questioned that i was not getting better, and I questioned the type of medication ? Dr Kim was prescribing ?

I got a second opinion about the pain I was experiencing, All the DRS I went to see stated that they would definitely take me off the medication I was on. Needless to say the Dr got angry she accused me of going against her treatment as she was the Dr, She then accused me of perhaps being a mental problem. After five or more years She said if I was unhappy with her care that she could work with me, but I had to remain on her line of care.? I was on a type of medication that is a level you can only get a month's supply.

Again I expressed to Dr Kim I did not like feeling light-headed and sleepy all the time, she said HER patients like feeling high. I explain to her that I do not.

I do not like the offices in the building they are cramming DRS into little corners it is very cramped, that is because it is Dr owned. Furthermore, I absolutely dislike the staff and have been too tolerant.I went on a sabbatical and affirmed that I need to be proactive and find a qualified physician that will be compassionate and professional

Cons:
  • Do not understand all insurance policies
  • Unorganized
  • Incompetent

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: No these people are miserable and take it on the patients we are taught from childhood to be nice I refuse to that any longer. Men can express dislikes but women are having a emotionally day. Do not go to this dr.she is vindictive and is a threat to her patients report her to the insurances companies and file a complaint be heard that is where it affects the Drs bottom line, meaning money . The best on your searches .

Incompetent Staff

Original review Dec 07, 2020

The doctors are great, it's the staff that surrounds them that is incompetent. My first problem was with the assistant to Dr.

Cannon who wrote in the wrong body part for an MRI. I had to drive to the Sugarland location from Spring twice instead of once. I can handle one mistake, however, a year or so later with Dr. Shatby, it was another problem.

Five weeks after giving them my signed medical release to retrieve medical records from a past foot doctor, the instructions were not followed and those medical records had not been requested. I waited two hours and spoke with numerous staff members and never saw the doctor. I will never go back there as I'm scared for my medical safety with their lack of medical competence. I contacted the CEO and she NEVER responded.

I will have to assume she could care less about understanding what transpired and how to stop this from happening to another patient.

I decided to give them another shot as this place is closer to my home and smaller than the medical center. We are in the time of COVID and I wanted to engage with less people at my doctor's appointment.

Preferred solution: I need an apology and I need I asked for in my email to the CEO, Christine Gladden. That was payment for my time and gas for their lack of preparation for my medical visit.

User's recommendation: I cannot recommend this place.

Doctor Incompetency

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had a hip revision surgery in August 2016 by Dr Jason Piefer. After the surgery, I experienced severe popping and pain in the hip.

I went back to him three times, and he told me it was normal and I had bursitis. I believed him so I continued to accept the popping. After it got worse, my husband said I needed a second opinion. I went to my original surgeon that performed my hip replacement 19 years ago.

I would have had him do the revision, but he did not accept my insurance. He x rayed my hip and said the hip cup was placed at the wrong angle and my hip would probably dislocate. I had him perform the second hip revision. I have no popping or pain.

I am out $65,000. Before you consider Piefer, do your research, and be careful.

I don't want him to do this to somebody else. ***
