AVOID Dr. Tony John

Dr. Tony John is careless with his medical practices.

My son was about 7 months old when we visited Dr. John for his 6 month checkup. We asked Dr. John about a papule just under my son’s eye that was getting larger.

Dr. John said it just needed to be popped with a needle and he proceeded to pop it. It began to bleed uncontrollably. He had the nurse put a Band-Aid on it and sent us on our way telling us it would be fine.

He left the office before we even made it to our car. By the time we got out of the office and to our car the Band-Aid was long gone and my sons face had blood running down it. We had to knock on the front door since the building had been locked right behind us. A group of nurses, possibly a Dr.

came in and said he needed stitches. Again, a completely far out medical diagnose. The nurses held gauze to the area while my son screamed and cried uncontrollably. They were still unable to stop the bleeding.

Dr. John finally arrived back at the office and told us to follow him to a dermatologist office. At this point we didn’t have an option since my son was covered in blood, screaming and obviously in pain. Luckily when we arrived at the Dermatologist clinic it was the practice of my personal dermatologist so I felt a little better.

The Dermatologist had been pulled off the golf course by Dr. John and met us at the clinic. He looked at it and determined it needed to be cauterized to stop the bleeding. It took myself, my mother in law and Dr.

John to hold my 7 month old son down so that the dermatologist could cauterize it while my son kicked and screamed uncontrollably. It did end up healing up and he is left with a scar under his eye.

That should have been enough to make me run away from this practice. But at the time I was a naïve mother and I went back to Dr.

John for my son’s 9 month checkup. My son was not crawling. So Dr. John had us take my son’s clothes off and leave him with only a diaper on and place him on the cold nasty office floor he told me to stand on the other side of the room and call him.

Of course my son began to cry – he was cold and in an unfamiliar place. So when this didn’t work he has us move to the office hallway and do the same thing with other patients around and probably a much more nasty floor then the last. My son again continued to cry. He told us there was something wrong with my son and he needed to go to physical therapy.

We never returned to Dr. John and we never took my son to therapy and he walked perfectly fine not to long after his first birthday.

My son is 3 now and has a sensory disorder. Is it related to our traumatic experiences with Dr.

John? I will never know for sure but my biggest mom mistake is taking my son to Dr. John and allowing him to cause this trauma to my son. Mom to Mom please AVOID Dr.

THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY

This is a HORRIBLE pediatrician's office! They're completely rude and impersonal.

The front desk girls are catty and love to close that front window just to simply talk about you. The billing department has no common sense. Their story changed 20 different times on how we owe money when we actually owe nothing. It was their mistake on billing codes.

Their ONLY interest is getting your money!

I'd list all of the other troubles they've put us through, but once again, Hometown Pediatrics would be wasting my time. Save your money and go somewhere they actually care for your child and not just your pocket.

Bad doctors office

One of worst physician offices, I have ever been too. The front staff is extremely rude, incompetent and so are most of the doctors.

They charge for everything, even a phone call! I cannot believe how they can get away with this. There is no compassion and there is always problems in getting any information from them. For a pediatrics office, they have weekend coverage, which is ridiculous.

I would hope that other consumers willcomeforward and write about there experience with them. I have friends who have had similar experience and now they have switched.

After going there for months, we have switched.

The Woodlands Hometown Pediatrics

I took my daughter for her 9 month well visit at 1030 and had to wait an hour to get into a room. They gave her an extra shot that was not necessary and when the doctor came in to see her, she was very short and I was not able to ask her all the questions that I had.

Being a first time mom, I am wanting to know if I am doing things correctly and I didn't not get any answers. The doctor said she had to leave the room to do something and never came back.

It was lunch time by this point and everyone was in a rush to kick everyone out. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.
