The Urban Writers

I had an awful experience with The Urban Writers, which operates through Dibbly Create (Dibbly Inc.), and I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a professional writing experience.

I paid $1,050.93 on December 27, 2024, for a 30,000-word book with a January 16, 2025, deadline. The assigned writer, Ana Taylor, failed to deliver the completed first draft on time.

I was able to see a few chapters on the Dibbly Create platform, but the writing was not conversational or engaging, despite my clear instructions. I had to constantly correct the tone and noticed that much of the content was AI-generated with minimal human input. The writer frequently used overused AI-generated words such as nuanced, actionable, embark, delve, dive, and practicaleven though I specifically asked her to avoid them.

With one day remaining (January 15, 2025), Ana Taylor abruptly stopped working on the project and emailed Dibbly support, leaving me without a completed book. Since then, I have lost access to my project and have received only delayed, inconsistent responses from customer support.

Major Issues with The Urban Writers / Dibbly Create:Failure to deliver a completed book The first draft was never finished by the agreed-upon deadline.Unprofessional business practices The assigned writer abandoned the project without notice and failed to communicate properly.Fake business details The Urban Writers / Dibbly Create lists fake addresses online, and their phone number is just a voice recording with no way to speak to a real person.Terrible customer support Emails either went unanswered or took far too long to get a response.Unnecessary and confusing paperwork I was required to fill out strange forms that seemed irrelevant to my order.

After repeated complaints, I received only a partial refund of $677.47 on January 31, 2025, leaving $373.46 unpaid.

A partial refund is unacceptable when the service was never completed.

The Urban Writers and Dibbly Create are unreliable and unprofessional. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery, and other consumer protection platforms to warn others about their deceptive practices.
