Original review updated Dec 06, 2024

I received a letter of acceptance to University of Southern Mississippi with a Merit scholarship (according to transcript), but when I tried to get more info on the phone and via email from their contact information on the website "AND" from the letter(S) I received, I couldn't get any of the info I needed regarding orientation schedule, scholarship information, establishing a USM email account for communication, etc. I spoke with Several people there even in their IT dept.about not being able to establish the campus email account even after creating the account, could not log into it as it kept saying couldn't verify authentication, even tough I changed password 4 times.

I spoke with 5 different people in the registrars' office, IT department, Admissions Dept, scholarship dept and none of them sounded like they were competent enough to do anything. I wonder, how in the world does anyone get a quality education there considering the way, and the incompetence I encountered, ridiculous to say the least. Not only that, but I sent emails to several different people there, one was supposed to be my recruiter, and never did get an email reply back to my email address, also wrote an email to admissions, and scholarship depts about my scholarship acceptance and preregistration, and no response. I am a senior and I just retired (66) from my job last November 2023, and was wanting to go back to school to get my BSW in Social Work, (maybe continue working till I'm about 80), but now I think I am going to inquire about another college now.

Boy it is a shame that our future leaders are being educated by incompetent people like that I have encountered over the past several days.I couldn't believe the lousy, poor, incompetent service and lack of knowledge with those I spoke with had. If Our future leaders come from that school, well, the only thing I can say is, Lord help us...
