Complaint for the Sutton Place Halifax Canada
- - Decor was nice, but cleanliness and maid service were inconsistent; dining was poor and sofa had stains, though valet was courteous.
My daughters and I wanted to visit Nova Scotia from California. I decided to get us a suite in Halifax from November 12 through November 17. The hotel was lovely as far as décor but lacking in cleanliness. The five days we stayed there were weird as far as maid service. Twice we left for the day and the room was not cleaned: no beds made, no dishes removed, no waters replenished, nor coffee. The other days they just made the beds with no cleaning. I live in Orange County, California, and have stayed at many five-star resorts, and I have to say this property was the worst for dining, aka Chopped restaurant; the food was marginal at best! I also noticed all kinds of stains on the sofa in the living area that grossed us out. The valet crew was very nice, I must say. Going forward, I believe you should address the cleaning of the rooms, and the restaurant is so bad for what they charge.

I stayed at this so called 'high end' hotel a number of weeks ago and strongly recommend to anyone, book elsewhere. The rooms are dated and smell of stale cigarettes still.
Carpet dirty and old. The plumbing in our room was so old and outdated, the toilet actually took 20 minutes to refill and during this time, the bathroom sink had NO water avail. Old dripping tub faucet and terrible little windows which didn't help to get any fresh air into stale room. The air/heat system old and stale air thru entire stay.
Staff were aloof and when i contacted unprofessional management team with concerns over my very overpriced, expensive stay, they totally ignored me.
Don't bother with this old, run-down 80's-be-gone, dive. Parking is also and additional $31 a night to top it off.
Preferred solution: Price reduction

The Sutton Place Hotel Edmonton is committed to improving its products and services and is currently in the process of renovating all of its guest rooms to include; new bathrooms, carpets, wall vinyl, some furnishings and a brand new linen package.
