Over billing and inefficient

This firm has a real problem with overbilling and dragging out cases (so as to get more legal fees). After 30K in bills in only 3 months I fired Rotolo and went to a mediator, who settled quickly. It turned out he just dragged things out unnecessarily. It was very painful for my child, and that was her college money. Items in the bill include being charged for several lawyers to confer about a simple case (so I was, in effect, paying 1K an hour). Meetings with the other attorney (a buddy of his) that never got anywhere. All the while, I got no solid advice or help on custody.

To Jane in Philadelphia-

I first want to say that we take complaints about our services very seriously. As such, we have searched our files to see where there was a charge of $30K in a three-month period for a custody case because that would be very unusual.

We did not find any cases where an amount of $30K was charged in three months for a custody case. Additionally, we have not handled any cases in Philadelphia nor have we ever handled any custody cases for a “Jane” so we are unable to address your complaint specifically.

The aim of our firm is to make every attempt to settle a matter amicably so as to keep costs down while obtaining the best results for our clients. Our clients receive a very detailed, monthly statement which includes all fees and costs incurred for that month, and a client is free to terminate our services at any time.

In addition, our clients are always free to discuss their bills with us directly, and we never received any such request from a client on this type of matter.

If you have a true compliant and wish to discuss this further with me, you are free to contact me directly. I am happy to discuss the matter with you and address any complaint you may have.

Victor Rotolo

Extremely disappointed with representation and extremely dishonest as to his credentials. When I met him, he bragged about his years of experience and how many trials he has handled. Yet when it came time to go to court, found that all of his claims about his actual experience was false and he has not actually tried a single case to conclusion in years. Despite all of his plaques on his walls, he was lazy and ill prepared. If you really need a trial lawyer, who actually has trial experience, he is not the lawyer for you. I learned the hard way.... my suggestion is that if you meet with him, ask him to specifically tell you the names of the cases that he has tried to conclusion in the past 1, 3 & 5 years ( and the name of the judge and adversary).... and willing to bet that he either refuses to provide it or sidesteps the issue. Told me that he has tried hundreds of cases...lies and more lies. Stay away at all cost. terrible lawyer.

One of his partners had a serious conflict of interest with a town I was dealing with, he failed to mention same. Cashed a check the SAME day I wrote it so my stop payment was not honored.

His practice is all flash and no cash. Second wife runs the show and is his junior by many years. Money can make ugly guy a hottie.

My ancient ancestors told me if you, the client, are Italian DO NOT hire an Italian as your lawyer he will *** you over!!! How true.

The above information has not been verified by the site publisher. It is false and defamatory and comes from an unreliable source - likely one of the subject attorney's many sub-par competitors. This website is open to civil action against it for harmful posts such as these.

I also had the same poor experience with Victor Rotolo as my lawyer.

When we met, he spent almost the entire time talking about himself.

When we were supposed to be preparing for court, he again was talking about himself and did not know / remember any of the details of my matter.

Again, the only thing that he was good at, was billing.

In the end, when things were not going his way, he tried to blame the judge and the other lawyer, but the real reason things were going poorly was his lack of proper preparation.

Poorly prepared on every level.

After leaving his firm, I then found out that all of his claims about his trial skills were also untrue. Very disappointed as well and a waste of money.
