Screwed and Lied to By Leo Duguay of Rothwell Group Inc. Ottawa
We hired Leo Duguay of the Rothwell Group in Ottawa, ON, to do some consulting and PR work for our company. I never had to deal with such a blowhard in my life.
We put up with him and his constant bolstering as he promised us results and reassured us of his contacts. He kept telling us how well connected he is if the Federal and Provincial government and in the sports and entertainment world, to name but a few. It was hard keeping up with all of his name dropping but we managed to do it somehow. We never received any results and ended up with a bill for $35,000.00.
In order to protect our integrity and future contracts and to protect us from ongoing BS slurs from Leo Duguay, I will use a different company name, but Leo knows exactly who we are... We should have stayed with the larger PR Firm, at least they have integrity and cater to their clients.

Anyone having dealt with Leo Duguay in the Ottawa or Saint Boniface area will tell you that he loves to brag about himself and will attend any meeting or event that will help him to so. God only knows how many events he put on for himself in order to do just that.
Everyone knows that the best way to deal with Leo Duguay is to just nod, agree with him and tell him how great he is, just let him boast about his so called accomplishments and then he's harmless and he will help you out. His meetings will go on very smoothly as long as he get's to talk about his contacts, drop a bunch of names, tell old government stories and how great of an athlete he once was.
Once the topic of conversation changes from Leo Duguay, then you will loose his interest and the meeting will be over shortly thereafter. Yes, he can be a bit of a know-it-all, but overall somewhat harmless.
This guy is something special and it wouldn't surprise me at all. Leo Duguay belongs to our golf course and he has no idea that most of the guys have this long standing joke with him. Leo can't go 3 seconds without dropping a name or coming out with some story we've already heard him tell us a million times. It's usually about the government, golf or hockey and how great he was at all three and how he knows everybody. We have a game (bet) going on at the club on what name he will drop first and what boring story he will tell us next. This guy is so clueless about this and how everybody is laughing at him, he has no idea we have this ongoing competition and betting beers on it. As for promising he knows everyone and can generate results, Yea, that sounds like Leo Duguay...
