BEWARE OF THE ROOM PLACE

I put furniture in lay-way (June 2016) while I was building a new house. I asked how much notice they needed to deliver, I was told two weeks notice and they could get it delivered. As soon as I received a closed date from the builder (Dec 20, 2017) I went to set up delivery date (two weeks). Not only could they not get all of my furniture but what they were able to deliver was damaged. I am now waiting on a third delivery of a dining room table that has now been delivered to me damaged twice. My other items never came in so I canceled the remaining portion of my order. I went to Value City on a Wednesday and had everything delivered on Friday damage free. I am now waiting on a credit for the furniture I never received.

Bad Quality Furniture - IRMA 6 PC DINING SET - BENCH FABRIC BURSTING AT SEAMS

It has been just 2 years 10 months since I bought a brand new IRMA 6 PC dining set with 5 year protection plan. And, the bench fabric is already bursting at the seams. I called the Warranty department and they said it is a manufacturing quality defect and hence it is not covered. Worst after the sale service ever

Great in store experience, which, in hind sight, I now recognize was the beginning of a giant scam. We bought a very nice reclining sofa and love seat and they threw in an extended warranty. After having the furniture for a little over a year the reclining mechanism broke. Our paperwork shows the reclining mechanism is covered for three years. The Room Place people claim that nothing in their store is covered for more than 1 year, and there is no convincing them otherwise. We pointed them to their website and showed them our paperwork and still they refused to cover the repair. Eventually, the company that provides the extended warranty - Guardian - stepped up and said they would cover it. They said The Room Place does this to them all the time. So after 2 months of just trying to get the repair covered, the ball was in The Room Place's court to order the replacement part (on Guardian's dime). We have now been waiting 4 months for the part to show up after being told it would be 4 weeks. We have called and called and e-mailed and e-mailed and each time its like the first time we have contacted them. There's no record of our problem or the part. Finally we called corporate and they said that we had received the part. REALLY? Then they figured out that it had been shipped from Hong Kong but would not arrive until mid-December. So we will be seven months waiting for a $5 replacement part. Every person we have interacted with at the Room Place (since we handed over our money) has been uninformed and unconcerned - at best. Mostly they have been disrespectful and even insulting. We have spent so much time and energy trying to get this minor repair completed and they have put forth zero effort, even obstructing our efforts at times. The worst after the sale service I have ever experienced. To add insult to injury, they offered us a "we are sorry" gift. It was the same set of bar glasses with warped bottoms that they gave us when we originally bought the furniture. What a joke.

D ring for recliner on order for 6 months, staples Cindy Crawford sofa came out

The service tech response was quick to come out but Guardian Protection is NOT a reliable service. Repair part for an armless leather recliner has been on order since July. They say it is being shipped from "Overseas" . Does that take 6 months? Better get a new shipping service. Also a Cindy Crawford sofa set that the seat support staples came out. But that is not covered under the protection plan. Give me a break!!! Guardian says its up to the store and the store says it is Guardians responsibility. To much back and forth and still no repair. Not a good place to buy furniture.

The Room Place - Madrid Bedset Review

The roomplace does not stand by their product. I have given the run around about my broken bed.

I was told to contact the manufacturer and was given a number to a retail store. I was also told to email corporate and was given an email address that does not work.

The five year warranty I purchased, does not protect or cover my bed when I need it to. I'm completely disgusted with the treatment I have received.

What is the email address they gave you? My couch is peeling and I've only owned the furniture for 2 years.

I went in to the actual store and they gave me a sheet of paper with a list and an email "AskUs@***.com". I was told to follow all of the directions on the sheet of paper and they would get back to me in a week. I did everything in accordance. I emailed them over 2 weeks ago and still have not heard anything back since.

I doubt I will hear anything today, tomorrow, and next week either. This is so frustrating!

I NEVER EVER GO BUY FURNITURE OR MATRESS FROM THE ROOM PLACE IN LOMBARD THE MANAGER NAME LUIS HE WAS RUDE HE DO'NT KNOW HOW TO TALKED TO THE GUEST ,HE WAS RACIEST HE WAS NICE TO ONLY WITH SPANISH PEOPLE Do yourself a favor and never even consider shopping at The Room Place. this place is terrible. sales people are so rude. one hour in my face and scared my children. he told me that he works there not me screaming in my face. weird very weird. should be in anger management classes nit selling furniture. asked to speak to a manager and guess what he did nothing.

Will never purchase anything else from this store I order a dining chair and table from this store only to wait 2 months for it when it finally arrives there's a piece missing from the table so back to the store it goes this sucks because I decorated my kitchen just for this table and chair set I'm so freaking done yes I'm pisssssssed and its paid for so now how long will I have to wait for another table another 2 months tis makes bad business no one has offered any kind of compension for the inconvenience this has caused me I think I want my money back

We bought a king size mattress set which is fine. Expensive, but fine. We also bought 2 recliner chairs. 1 chair works ok. The other we had replaced twice and the 3rd chair we got is also a piece of ***. It won't stay in a reclined position. The 2nd fell apart. The staples didn't hold together. The first one's back wouldn't latch together. I called to have it repaired and the so called repair company didnt keep the appointment. I waited at home. Missed work and when i called them back, they hung up on me. I can't say i would ever go there again.

Albany Industries Sofa Review

The quality is terrible for the money. My couch isn't even a year old and it's cusions are sinking and it's ripping at the seams. The 5 year extended warranty is only for stains and the manufacturer warranty won't do anything because I'm not at the same address I was at when I bought it. Horrible quality and they know it and don't stand by it. I'll never go back.

Me and my husband had a great experience at The Room Place in Plainfield. We were greeted and the door and given information on how the store was set up so we could easily find what we were looking for. After given some time to look around, we were provided with the opportunity to ask questions and receive information about what we were looking for. We were directed to the some items that met our specifications. Cost, warranties, delivery options were all explained clearly, so we knew exactly what to expect and what our total cost would be. It was a great experience and I left the store very satisfied with my experience and excited about my purchase. They were very patient with us, even we changed our minds a few times to get to the end results. Great Job! High recommend this store.
