Verified Reviewer New ReviewerRUDE Incompetent manager and leasing agent
This is possibly the worst experience I have ever had with a business! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED! I highly recommend that anyone interested consider moving to another location and save themselves the trouble that might be caused by the lasing office and management. This place will leave you high and dry before your move-in date! Absolute NIGHTMARE! My fiance and I wasted a month working with this apartment leasing staff! I was impressed with the apartments short term lease options. We are in the process of buying a house and we needed something for six months. I read all of the reviews online and I addressed my concerns with Charissa (the leasing agent we worked with). I was assured that there was less than an inch of flooding on the first-floor apartments from Hurricane Harvey and that all of the floodings had been addressed. As for the other reviews such as roaches, I was told that was simply not true! I was told that the missing part to the fence was broken during Hurrican Harvey and that is was going to be fixed asap! When I asked if the apartment was safe and quiet I was told that only nice people can afford to live on the property! I was extremely shocked at that comment but I moved on! Foolishly, we picked out a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor. We were willing to pay around $1,879.00 for a "lake view" (NOT INCLUDING UTILITIES) for an apartment that flooded during Harvey. I suppose I was desperate to find a place and end the apartment hunt! I DID notice dead roaches in two of the apartments that we looked at. I was assured it was from filthy tenants that occupied the apartment before us and that part of the move-in was to spray for bugs and address cleanliness. My fiance submitted the application online and we were assigned a unit. Our move-in was planned several weeks before the move-in date. We were excited and eager to move into the new apartment! Shortly after submitting the application, we got an email from Charissa stating that my fiance had a block on his credit! This was strange to us since we just qualified for a home loan and it was never an issue before! My fiance did not put a block on his credit and when he called they didn't know what he was talking about. He submitted paperwork to the agency to be on the safe side but they assured us everything was in the clear! I didn't feel like going back and forth I went into the office and submitted paperwork to put things in my name to save the trouble! I was promised that we would get an email of the lease via a docu sign and two weeks later that NEVER happened. Days before the move I called the office several times and no response from anyone. After a week of calling and no response from the office staff, I finally got Charissa on the phone. I explained that we needed to move in sooner and that I was still waiting on the lease agreement. She literally had no clue who I was when I called, and finally found my information and stated that she would call me back after putting me on hold. I was never called back so I went into the office to sign whatever forms were needed. Charissa was not in the office and the manager told me to come in the next morning and sign the documents and that everything should be a go! ~As for the broken fence that was supposed to be fixed a month ago when I asked.... IT WAS STILL BROKEN and no signs of getting fixed! I was shocked when I received a text from Charrisa around 8:30 am which stated that I couldn't move in on the day the manager approved and not to show up to the office and "waste a trip and confuse staff"! I was not on a personal level with her! She got my cell phone number and texted me a RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONAL text by getting my personal information which I provided to the business that she works for. I was absolutely shocked and I did not respond. I am not sure what kind of business standards this company runs by but I am not impressed with any individual contacting me in such a way! I called and spoke with the property manager. He was also RUDE and had absolutely no clue where his leasing agent left things off! To make matters worse he was aggressive over the phone. The entire situation was so unprofessional that it was shocking! I went to The Grayson and had zero issues the same day! We were able to get a different apartment the same day without getting the run-around! There wasn't a block on our credit as the leasing staff at the Reserve suggested and we now have a wonderful place to call home. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I highly suggest anyone contemplating doing business with this place go elsewhere!
