Verified Reviewer |Messing Up my business!
I have a business and need to be able to do transactions with other companies that use Plaid. I have tried to use this to verify my business accounts and can't even get past the login information.
Likewise, I am sure I am using the correct ID/PW, but it still gives me an error message saying my information is wrong!
My credentials work to get into my bank and App; okay, so it's the Plaid system. I'm so sick of this crap!
User's recommendation: Please don't use this App to verify Bank Accounts; it's terrible!

RIP OFF ARTISTS
My wife found and fell in love with Aric and ALex's furniture on Etsy. She ordered a "custom" piece.
We were told it would be 4-6 weeks. They would contact us when it was ready to ship. We waited… 10 weeks later we contact them. Item was ready to ship!
ANd we never heard from anyone… Week 12 we contact them again. Oh…Right! That shipper was no good. We have a new shipper…but…your furniture was returned to us…mumble mumble mumble.
This is where Aric goes shady. Do you have our furniture or not? Well…yeah…but…mumble mumble mumble…
Okay, send me a photo of it. No photo.
Phone number no longer works. We get his cell number. Surprise! Oh…right…did we go over the shipper problem?
Hmm…we had a baby! Great! Where's my furniture? Mumble mumble mumble…Just give us a refund.
Okay. Sorry.
No refund given. Went through paypal. No refund too long had expired.
Finally went through credit card. Got a refund. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! Now, the good news.
We filed with the FTA.
Aric is in violation of the RICO act. I hope he enjoys jail.

Illicit Practices by The Plaid Mill
We received our cabinets 2 months late, after numerous excuses and little response from the makers. The pieces arrived heavily damaged and with poor workmanship otherwise. I attempted to resolve the issue with the merchant (ThePlaidMill), and they promised to refund my money, but ultimately we were without result as they ignored my emails and phone calls repeatedly - even after scheduling said phone calls in advance (they just didn't answer).
I sent the pieces back, per our agreement and didn't hear anything from them - even after contacting them to confirm receipt (which I knew occurred because of tracking). After I told them I was disputing the charge, they deleted the listing for the item and their “shop” on Etsy.
Etsy, the merchant portal and credit card charger, will not deal with any disputes after 60 days of purchase. We purchased, and paid for, the item on Sept 24th, 2015; but it was not delivered until the second week in December (initial delivery was scheduled for mid-October) – and the issue of a refund wasn’t agreed upon until late December. As such, Etsy would not participate in disputes related to this transaction, but asked that it be between the buyer (me) and the merchant (ThePlaidMill).
Ultimately, I had to send all correspondence, documentation, etc to my credit card company for a refund. It was a huge waste of time and pain. I would not deal with this company no matter the low price or promise.

Other Product Review
My experience is similar to all the others. They were extremely attentive until they had money from me, then we basically never heard from them again and never received our items. Luckily, our credit card company was fantastic about it and credited our loss back to our account. But, we never received any refund or explanation from The Plaid Mill itself.
Took my money, delivered nothing
I ordered a table from Plaid Mill in November. Their emails were always very friendly and apologetic for the delays, but after over 3 months of waiting, I started to do research online and realized that others had the same problems. When I asked for a refund, I got silence in return. They are an existing company, they have made furniture in the past, they are in Missouri. They do not have a phone number--what appears on their website is something google web commerce gives subscribers: it isn't an actual business line.
I now understand that commerce laws require business to offer a refund if they have gone 10 days over their promised delivery date. They never did this, and their refund policy is not in writing on their website. The fact that they kept sending me emails saying my piece was in progress, it would take another week, etc. makes it even harder for the credit company to dispute the charge.
Dishonest people.

The Plaid Mill - Furniture Review from Arlington, Virginia
Same experience as everyone above. Look up their site on Etsy.
45 negative reviews all with the same issue. Completely responsive before purchasing after purchasing- stone cold silence. I was lucky to get a refund but it only came after 13 weeks of persistence and a threat to report them to the FBI cyber crime division. Most reviews on Etsy sound as if they never received their product and never received a refund.
These guys are stealing consumers money and getting away with it. Etsy clos d their shop because of how many open cases they had against them and they twisted that into a beautiful lie on their website making it sound as if they closed their shop to focus on sales from their website. I think they intentionally abandoned their etsy shop and all of their paying customers because they knew there was very little recourse. I hope all who have experienced this treatment would blast negative reviews anywhere they can find to warn others to steer clear of the company!!!
Still so mad at these people.
Strung along by ThePlaidMill, never received product...
I ordered a piece from this company in September 2014 with an estimated shipping time of just about a month. Aric/Alex were very eager to answer questions up until I made my purchase and then they went quiet.
When I placed the order, they said they would send me a drawing to make sure I liked it but approaching the delivery date, they hadn't been in contact. Halfway through October, I contacted them and they said they had all the materials and the rest would go quickly. I was sent a drawing which raised more questions, but they went unresponsive again.
I'm a fairly patient person, so I gave them some time and sent them another email in the beginning of November which went ignored until December. They claimed the order was ready to ship and could be sent out the following week.
Fast forward to January, there's no record of any shipment nor correspondence with The Plaid Mill explaining any issues. On January 14th, I realized they shut down their online storefront and their listed phone number was disconnected. I asked again to which they replied my order would be shipped out the following day. Being strung along by this company for so long, I didn't trust that the desk was actually ready to ship or the quality would be satisfactory so I pushed for a refund again.
To their credit, they did respond and say they would process my refund within a week; however, I wasn't surprised when they missed that deadline and I had to work with others to get the charge refunded.
I wasn't going to write a negative review about them because it seems like they're just in over their heads, but not getting the order refunded by them after waiting 4 months on an order that should have been 1 was a bit too much.
I'd never attempt to buy anything from this company again.

I also am currently dealing with The Plaid Mill over a custom order of 2 night stands I purchased off their Etsy page on 11/2/14. The nightstands were "suppose" to take 6-9 weeks to build and deliver...
Almost 4 months later, still nothing. After MANY attempts to contact them with EXTREMELY POOR communication in response, I am forced to submit a fraud affidavit with my bank and have also submitted everything to my attorney.
I could CAUTION EVERYONE NEVER TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Hi Erica--
I too had a really bad experience with them and have been unable to get a refund. I too contacted a lawyer who told me some interesting info about their LLC.
Would you be willing to communicate privately about this? I'd like to see justice done here as they have clearly been so deceptive with so many people.
Let me know. Thanks, Rebecca
