- - Paid $408 for a dishwasher part; later a $300+ claim for damage was made.
- - Seeking refund of $408 plus tax; no response yet.
On February 17, 2026, Matthew from Mr. Appliance came to my house to diagnose and repair my dishwasher.
He said that a part needed to be replaced at the cost of $408.00. I, stupidly agreed to this. When he returned to install the new part, he "claimed" the new part damaged another part. This would cost another $300+.
I told him that I didn't believe him and refused the additional work. My husband has been ill and due to this stress, I probably didn't make the correct decision. I called Mr. Appliance and tried to cancel the order.
I was told if I did this, the account would be sent to collections. I believe this was a scam. After the fact, I discovered a new dishwasher would cost less than the original part. Therefore, I am seeking a refund in the amount of $408.00 plus tax.
I have reached out to Mr. Appliance with the promise of "reviewing" my claim. Thus far I have not received any response.
I blame myself for not doing the due diligence that I should have done. This company is taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers.
Thank you,
Deborah Galen
