I am not pissed off

I called The New York Times to report that our Sunday paper had not been delivered, which was unusual. The representative who took my call was pleasant, courteous, and helpful, indicating that there were delivery difficulties of an unspecified nature in our immediate area, that a paper would be delivered at or before 8:30 AM/CDT. Double Billed

The NYT uses an email address as a personal identifier. This is a problem when it is linked to a charge card and the email address is no longer used. The New York Times continued to charge the card twice even though the account was transferred to the new email address.

User's recommendation: My discussion with the Times rep on the ethics of charging me twice was JUSTIFIED by her saying it was the POLICY of The New York Times not to offer refunds. Justifying actions by simply saying it is "our policy" is dangerous territory.
