I was introduced to Dr. Helmstetter and the Life Coach Institute in 2009.

I received all of the materials which I completed at my own pace and was certified as a Life Coach, following my final/exam call with Dr.

Helmstetter. I have maintained contact with the Self-Talk organization and the Life Coach Institute and believe them to be a very reputable organization.

Becoming a Life Coach

I was introduced in 2003 to this company and 8 years ago decided to apply to become a Life Coach. I have been nothing but pleased with their materials, support, kindness and knowledge.

I became a Life Coach and now a Certified Self Talk Trainer through his company. I highly recommend this group. They are amazing! Living a life looking for a reason to complain just keeps everyone in a negative state of mind.

If you keep doing what you are currently doing you will get what you are currently getting. That is the way life is. I have never had any trouble getting CD's, downloads or help with either of those. I got my scheduled call with Dr.

Helmstetter and found him to be a mountain of help, energy and education. I highly recommend this Institute to anyone that wants to better their lives and the lives of those around them.

The Life Coach Institute is FRAUD!!

They offer Cd's or downloads for 250$ claiming once you are done with the materials, Dr. Shaad Helmstetter will call you, give you a an exam by phone, then will send you a signed certificate.

I ordered downloads a year ago, and got busy with life. For the past few months have been trying to reach The Life Coach Instiute via phone and email...NOTHING. They have never ever not once called me back and I am pissed!

Email me ry@***.com if you experienced the same. I'm floored, and not to mention i'm out 250$.

The company that goes by the name "The Life Coach Institute" should not be confused with Life Coaching Institute of America.

Life Coaching Institute of America (LCIA)--which is in no way related to this complaint-- is an extremely reputable company that has transformed many lives, including my own!

If you are looking into becoming a successful coach, I highly recommend that you obtain your professional certification from them.

Check out their website: http://LifeCoachingAmerica.com

I have an even better one. I ordered a package of self-talk cds from the Helmsterr's company a few years ago and they charged me for the cd's but they were never delivered.

I contacted the company and received no response. Monetary loss was roughly $100-$120. Total scam artist.

It's good that other people realize it too.

I feel your pain. I took a program through the Life Coaching Institute in Greenville, SC and couldn't believe the level of UNprofessionalism, primarily from Dianne Greyerbiehl.

She was downright rude. While they were accredited by ICF, they couldn't get their act together on any level. We spent more time dealing with their poor technology (literally hours) than learning anything. And don't bring issues up to Diane, as her response will not be what you might expect from a PhD who is a coach.

Keep looking if you're thinking about choosing a life coaching school! Alan Seale's program is amazing and life changing.

By the way, insecure people are not likely to spend their money on life coaching.

They do however, look to judge others for what they do and believe that is different from their own ways and beliefs.

Unfortunately, RY, I "signed up" with LCI in 2009, when at the time they did not offer the course as a download, but a shipment of the materials by mail, for the amount of, (and I'm embarrassed to say), $900!!!!! Yes I paid that, however I did receive the materials.

I went through the program at my own pace, because of course they say you are free to do this, and then when ready call for your certification interview with Dr. Helmstetter. Well, after about 10 unanswered phone calls and unreturned messages, I finally got through one day and spoke with Levi, who has been there for years, and an appt was made for me for the following week to have the interview. Dr.

Helmstetter never called for my appt, and when I tried to call the intitute....no answer. When I emailed....it came back as undeliverable due to being no longer valid. I checked with the BBB and Life Coach Institute is given an F rating for non-response to their customers and non-delivery of materials. I found several other complaints posted on variuous consumer sights about this company.

The really sad thing is, if you Google Shad Helmstetter, he is ALL OVER the internet promoting several books, reviews, videos and audios, etc. He portrays a person who helps others in the public forefront, seems to have this positive message of the possibilities of change and success, while his company is taking money from those who are sincerely seeking to improve their lives, and not delivering what is promised.

Why is his website still up???? Something needs to be done about this.

Robert,

I am also the one who posted this. I would never take advantage of insecure people.

That's a major statement to make. Your saying those with PhD's don't take advantage? I am a huge advocate about this very issue. That's insane.

Last year alone Physicians and Psychologists in the U.S. got paid over 380 million in commission just for selling medication. In fact 70% of medical school students, for Internal Med, focuses its entire education just on prescriptions! Who takes advanatge?

I don't even believe in meds, I work with a physician and we share an office. She offers Neurofeedback, I offer support. What an unbelievable statement to make. I wish people like yourself would try to understand individuals like me, who actually went through traumatic experiences instead of insinuating that bc I chose to get my PhD elsewhere, I don't know what I am doing.

Absurd.

Like I said, I ROLL my eyes at those who feel they are capable of understanding and treating those that experienced something they never did. Ridiculous.

Robert,

Ha! I understand what you are saying. I am a life coach. I am in school to get my PhD in Molecular Biology, and I also run several small businesses on the side. I chose not to go to school for pshycology because I don't feel I have to because of personal experiences. I am currently writing a bio, and my experience has given me a unique understanding for individuals who are experiencing what I did. I ROLL my eyes at psychiatrist, therapist, and other Life Coaches who feel they are capable of treating those who suffer from addiction, eating disorders, rape, abuse, OCD, and other mental illnesses when they NEVER experienced it themselves. That's a joke to me.

By gaining a certificate, no matter if it's by an online course or not, it's another way to validate someone's trust. Do you really care and why?

The whole idea of a "life Coach" is ludicrous. Why in the world would have sent off for thier cd's? Life coaching is fraudulent "profession" that takes advantage of insecure people.
