I paid Brenda in full. 6 months later she tells me i owe her 16,000 or she wont go to court with me.
She didnt bother to show up the next week and sent someone from her office who knew nothing and caused me to lose alot of money. Then she refused to answer my phone calls. I fired her then 2 years later she sends me a bill for 26,000.00. She is a thief!!!
Her practice leaves her clients broke and hanging. She refused to talk at our conference in the courthouse. I later found out she was going through a divorce of her own and was so busy dealing with that and just wanted to get mine over with so she could leave. My friend was with me and was so upset at the way she was ignoring me and dealing with her own issues.
She literally left me in the dark and her staff had to lie for her.
How sad is that. She is bad bad bad and never again will i be dooped!
You need to contact the California state bar and report what happened. She was disbarred for stealing just like this.
There are hundreds of victims. She changed her name to Brenda lynn Higgins and is operating out of Yoruba Linda as a pro life Christian however she destroys lives and doesn't act on Christian values. Also report her to the district attorney office as she needs charges filed against her -- way too many victims. She screwed up people's divorce.

Unprofessional and condescending
She was handling a dissolution of marriage between my ex husband and I. We had no shared assets, no children. There seemed to have been a lack of urgency in regards to paperwork and everything else for that matter as the divorce took over two years to complete. I believe she took this case on as a favor for my ex mother law or traded services so this case was not a priority. I had assumed it was my ex delaying the process for months at a time but clearly, after reading the reviews, I know that the lack of action was on her part. As communication with my ex and I completely ceased, there was still the issue of obtaining my property from my ex husbands residence. Brenda offered to mediate an exchange of property. I delayed this process as a family member of mine who was on good terms with my ex husband offered to obtain my property. Shortly after I received a letter from Brenda's office. This is a direct paragraph from the letter.
" Please also note, as of your signature on the judgement on August 20, 2012, the filing fees with the court had increased from what I had quoted you many months ago. I have covered the short fall of your filing fees, as an additional extension of courtesy to you. Given your public complaining about the length of time your case has taken to reach completion, and your utter inability to accept responsibility for your own part in the delay, this office has no further professional courtesy to extend to you. Do not contact me with any request to mediate a time or place for an exchange of your property. One week from the date of this letter. he has no obligation to accommodate your schedule, and this office has no further patience to do so either."
The professional extension of courtesy would have been to notify me that court filing fees had gone up. The professional extension of courtesy would be to not stalk my personal Facebook posts and then proceed to point that out in a 'professional letter'. The professional courtesy would have been to accept her "utter inability to accept responsibility for her own part in the delay."

She was disbarred by the California state bar after she "went off the rails" defrauding people. .Her "cover story" is that she somehow became "spiritual" and ended her law office voluntarily. This is a total lie.
There are people and families still reeling from the impact of her theft and total incompetence. The District Attorney's office needs to investigate and charge her with multiple counts. She is a liar. She is not "spiritual" as spiritual people have feelings and consciousness about their actions.

Brenda Lynn McCune is nothing but a thief and a fake.
She takes money for legal services and does not perform the work.
Wherever you go there you are Brenda McCune. You have left a path of destruction and you have hurt countless people with your greed and irresponsible behavior. You profess to care about people and family law. However, the very people you were supposed to protect and guide you failed.
You have no ethics and no morals. You say you are a christian.
First thing you should do is look in the mirror and start being honest with yourself. Then, pull out your client list and start calling all the people you harmed, you know who they are. There is a very long list of complaints filed at the California State Bar. If you don't have a list handy maybe you can get the list from them.
You might also consider telling your pastor and church about how you have harmed others. How you really speak to clients on the phone and how rude and arrogant you are. Your unethical behavior is flagrant.
You acted irresponsibly and you are so disconnected from reality that you are not present to what you are doing and the negative effect you are having on people. You say your son's baseball accident changed you. Does that mean it made you take people's money and not perform the work? Did it change you not to return client calls? Did it change you to be rude, arrogant and dismissive to clients? Did it change you to blame the clients verses looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for your actions. YOu are in "la la land" Brenda McCune.
Get real and to really get God you need to first take an honest look at what you have done to others. You should seek serious counseling for how you can twist the real facts and blame others. You should seek help for why you think it is ok to repeatedly lie to your clients telling them you are going to call them and never do.
Seek help for all your habitual lies that are so part of your everyday that you can't even see them. Seek help for all the money you took from clients without doing the work or providing any value. You know you over-billed and sucked hours to pad your pocket. You are so far out in left field it is stunning. And, the California State Bar Website has all the documentation with more on the way I am sure.
Brenda, maybe your divorce has something to do with you and your behavior? Maybe the failure of your law firm and the lien against your building has something to do with you. Maybe the lack of clients has to do with all your negative reviews and State Bar complaints. You can move on to something else if it is done with integrity. To blame law or clients for your issues is just blame and your issues will continue to follow you wherever you go. You have such a high level of self-entitlement and arrogance that you radiate deep hurt and pain underlying your issues and all of this is unresolved.

2. On or about November 15, 2013 Plaintiff employed Brenda Lynn McCune to represent her in a martial dissolution matter which Brenda Lynn McCune intentially, recklessly, or repeatedly failed to perform with competence, by failign to prepare the required stipulated judgement in a timely fashion, or otherwise provide any legal services of value between on or about November 15, 2012 and June 17, 2013, and by failing to provide status updates and accounting during that period, in willful violation of Rules of Professional Conduct, rul 3-110(A).
3. On or about November 15, 2012, Respondent received advanced fees of $2,500 from a client for purposes of securing a marital dissolution. Respondent performed no services of value on behalf of the lclient and therefore earned none of the advanced fees paid. Respondent failed to refund promptly, updon Respondents termination of employment on or about June 17, 2013 any part of the $2,500 fee, in willful violation of Rules of Professional Conduct.
4. Respondent failed to release promptly after termination of Respondent's employment on or about June 17, 2013 to Respondent's client all of the client's papers and property following the client's request for file on June 17, 2013.
5. On or about November 15, 2012 the client received $2,500 but failed to render an appropriate accounting to the client regarding those funds following the client's request for such accounting on or about June 17, 2013.
6. Brenda Lynn McCune failed to cooperate and participate in a disciplinary investigation pending against her by failing to provide a substantive response to the State Bar's letters of September 10, 2013 and September 16, 2013 which Respondent received, that requested Respondents response to the allegations of misconduct being investigated in Case 13-0-1**** in willful violation of Business and Professions Code section 6068(i).

As you may be aware, Brenda Lynn Mccune has been disbarred by the California State Bar. So much for the so called rising star superlawyer.
At least she was gracious enough to default in the discipline proceedings. Evidently, she must have had another of her migranes and got tired of everything. Her law degree was from a bogus law school, Western State University. The most exalted thing anyone can do with a Western State law degree is to refuse to use it or get rid of it, the license, and whatever else.
I wonder if she paid her disciplinary fees to the state bar? Probably not, most people are smart enough not to pay into an organization that they don't belong to anymore. Also, the state bar doesn't do anything whatsoever to collect it, no judgement lien, asset seizure, credit reporting, nothing. Brenda Mccune is a scam.

Very Bad Attorney
I worked for this attorney and witnessed first hand how she treated clients and her staff. I was at "ground zero" so I saw what really went on behind closed doors.
1. She did not return phone calls and had staff lie to clients and make up things to tell them....repeatedly.
2. She'd let a file sit and sit and sit and not address it and then turn around and make up something bad about the client and twist the lack of work and results in a way that the client was to blame.
3. She was always texting or on twitter talking about her hikes, what a great day it was but she would tell clients she was sick. She even told a client she would call them on the weekend (Saturday) as the client waited WEEKS to get a return call only to never call the client.
4. After she got a letter from the California State Bar she went back to her social media accounts and deleted her hikes and "fun" so that it aligned with her story that she she was going through a rough patch in her life. A lot of people go through rough patches, my friend is an accountant and lost her son to cancer and worked during her grieving process and traumatic event, she never lied to clients, took money and she worked hard and did her job.
5. Last I heard she was losing her office, was having financial issues (again) and the Cal State Bar finally has caught up to her. They should call her old clients during 2010, 2011 ****....using Court Records and interview them to see what is true....especially the ones that substituted out....there is a long paper trail of unhappy clients that she did wrong and I am sure they would all talk and support it with evidence.
I believe she was part of the parental alienation train . Using false claims to win for her clients ?

No refund of funds for Retainer
She tried to manage my Family Law case; Never made any progress in the first year; finally after NO refund of some the Retainer funds - she 'pocketed' all $5000 with no accounting of the year of work, and she STILL did not get to finality of the Court documents for both sides for the court for closure on 'court official documents' until we had to 'FIRE HER'. So we needed to move on to a 'new/Family attorney' who is doing the job that she was chartered to do. After a few months of requests for remainder of Retainer funds with accounting, she vanished out-of-site.

she represented me through Jarvis Kreiger Sullivan firm in oc. She was unprepared , unprofessional and unethical.
When I first met her she sounded assuring & competent ; she Talks a good game but delivers lousy . To start , she arrived to court (late), decided to make some copies right before the judge called her . Before she left she told me that if the judge asked for her I should say that she went to make copies ! The judge waited for her until she needed to move on.
My case was sent to another judge that was unsympathetic to my side and evantually I lost the case and $50000 along with it .
In the afternoon session she made the judge wait again for her to come back . However , this time , the judge asked the bailif to look for her !
She is a hurtful, pathetic loser who got her money from dirty tactics. She is trying to save her own soul not in a desperate attempt to "fight abortion" or "advocate for family values".
But she is completely missing the point in that she failed to advocate for the family's that entrusted her to provide a valued service. Her abortion fight in my opinion is a distraction so she doesn't have to own up to all the pain and suffering her incompetence, lying and unethical behavior caused many many people. She is still running, blaming others, blaming the legal system, blaming *** people, judging other people - her past clients, the system, lawyers, her profession, abortion. Her judgement is a poison to our society and her utter lack of self-responsibility and ownership of her dirty deeds indicates she is an immature soul that has some very serious issues.
She should be committed to paying all the people back she stole from and being with how many people she screwed over that the negative affect it had on their lives and their families. it is an absolute travesty that she was allowed to practice any law and that the California Bar has not filed criminal charges against her.
In her current state of functioning it is my opinion she should never, ever, ever, never hold any position of responsibility. How she makes money now is anyone's guess, she is probably living off the investments from all the dirty money she made.
Brenda McCune Took My Money Promised Results And Scammed Me
I paid Brenda McCune for family law legal services. She claimed to be a family law specialist. The only thing she was "special" at was swindling my money. She did not perform the services I requested of her. She did not write up the orders or file them with the court. And, she missed paperwork and deadlines. She is a total crook and makes up crazy stories to try and cover herself. She is loathsome and unprofessional.
Her character and actions/inactions lead me to surmise that she is a narcissist.
Narcissists promise the world but give you only a plot of dirt. Despite their extravagant promises, it is crucial to have low expectations for what they will actually deliver or you will end up perpetually disappointed.
Narcissists give just the minimum necessary to sustain your association with them. The promises and even low level delivery will end abruptly as soon as you no longer serve a purpose for them. Keep in mind that anything they DO deliver you will pay dearly for—in some shape or form.
Brenda McCune wanted my money, I was her narcissistic supply. She took it and didn't do the job. She has done this to countless others.
One of the worst mistakes of my life was hiring this cheater. She took $7,500 from me and did nothing.

I hired Brenda 6-12 months ago.
Brenda handled my Family matter.
I have previously worked with no lawyers.
Could not finish my case due to her being suspended by the State Bar of California. I should have investigated this attorney instead of relaying on a recommendation. I now see Ms. McCune was on probation and under another investigation late last year. Why did she take on my case if she knew she had an ongoing case against her which she choose to ignore versus responding to the charges? Did she not know in ignoring repeated request by the State Bar would result in a suspension? Is that why she didn't bother paying her annual attorney membership fee? Why did she not disclose this to me when she took my retainer? Now I need to get another attorney to pick up where Ms. McCune left off. And she has the nerve to tell her clients that she is retiring. Shame on her..

Most lawyers that are honest will stay in practice . Brenda lies , and makes promises she can't keep. You would think since she had a messy divorce and had a mental breakdown she would show more compassion in her actions when she knows her client is a abuser. Hello Paul Flores here I just want to fully confess to murdering Kristin Smart, please offer a full conviction with maximum sentence. I already confessed to the police and they audio/video recorded it and I signed a full confession.
The most I could hope for is to be released on some kind of a bail bond loan which I would need a loan to even pay the 10 percent and jump bail but then the bounty hunters would sledge hammer every house, apartment, office building, bird house, dog house out house to find me because I did it and must fully confess to be good for the soul, I hade 26 years that she didn't because I killed her.
