ICE COLD SHOWERS and SURPRISE FACILTY FEES
We booked the Gatsby Hotel, 135 E Houston St, New York, NY 10002
PAID IN FULL at time of booking.
SURPRISE!! When checking in, we were charged an additional $30.00 for a "FACILITY FEE".
I explained that we already paid in full, but they were insistent that we pay.
We were never informed of this JUNK FEE.
We had never been charged this fee in the past when we stayed at the Gatsby Hotel.
ICE COLD SHOWER
At 7:00 am, we turned on the shower...it was ICE COLD.
We could not take showers.
We had to be out of our room by 7:30 am for an important appointment.
We notified the Front desk of the issue when we checked out at 7:23 am.
We asked for the managers name and contact information.
We notified the manager 2 days after our departure, and she told us that we could have switched rooms.
I explained to her we had a 30 minute window between when we discovered the ice cold shower and the time we needed to depart. We did not have time to switch rooms.
I am very concerned about other customers who may have experienced sub-standard facilities and SURPRISE Facility Fees when staying at the Gatsby Hotel.
