Verified ReviewerEmergency transfer
I put in an emergency transfer for safety reasons months ago, and I still have not received any information on a transfer while others are being moved expeditiously. I have children in my home, and I have been patient for as long as possible. This property is Lexington Park Apartments.
Couple of things. My apartment bathroom floor has...
Only what I sent you.Not only have I returned to my home, I have had to stop working and my father is dying so the note I wrote is it for now. It's not my job to resolve the issues and I have very important business to attend to at this time.
Your info portal here was the only source I could find in order to address the matter and would appreciate it if you would send the correspondence to the correct professional.Thank you and have a nice day.Mrs. Shannon Haskin
Couple of things. My apartment bathroom floor has flooded twice and a third time backwash of red sediment in the tub and kitchen sink.
I had to clean up the mess each time with my new towels, shower and make it to work in fifteen minutes. 3 to 4 inches of standing water each time. The water is also hard. No softener.
My oatmeal linen shower curtain is more red than any stain left on the carpet. THE DIRTY CARPET IS FROM THE DIRTY SIDEWALK IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. I used my $150.00 worth of new towels from Lowe's to clean up the toilet flood for a toilet not even yet used. I aslo used one bottle of lysol tub and tile EVERY week to keep the hard water deposits off the sinks, toilet and shower.
The apartment did not have a duct vent filter. I have replaced the vent filter numerous times. There is a two and three inch manifestation of sticky lent every month. All the articles in the apartment were purchased new as was the vacuum which fills up with the same debris found on the duct vent filter each week.
Again, the dirty carpet happened with no one being there. The washer in the unit was out for several weeks. I also believe their are people from outside the property washing their clothes. Usually on my day off.
We bleached washed the patio the first week we were there, prior to the community pressure washing episode, which took 4 bottles of Lysol bleach spray to remove the black mold. In hopes to maintain a cleaner floor surface, i.e. clean carpet. The door casement, both on the inside and out, produce a substantial amount of black soot that has to be cleaned each week.
There are termites, a nest I guess on the outside of the sliding glass door in the hole of the brick morter. It is by cleaning the termite dirt that four of the plastic plantation blinds easily snaped. There was and still may be a small group of hornets that go in and out of the ventilation vent on the exterior of the building and we removed two hornets nest. The 18 month occupancy left no outstanding debt; I have handled my business with both the electric company and water company, yet have been informed of a debt to this establishment for carpet cleaning and delinquency in water.
There was no trash or trash bags left in the unit and both the apartment key and laundry card were left on the counter. I was going to tidy up one more time but after the last showcase, I just left. Our upstairs neighbors, unknown to me because I work at night, began falling out of bed throughout the night and banging on the floor. I was recently informed that this has been an ongoing event.
Apparently they thought we had vacated the establishment because January, our $1,500.00 30 day end of lease requirement , was several nights of bed banging and we almost called the police, who did show up. I have no idea what was going on. All I know is I signed a lease for $1,133.00 a month for a year with the option to retain the original lease by resigning for another year or continue the lease as a month to month lease for an additional $100.00 after the first year. Making it $1,233.00.
It was for that reason I chose the establishment. I was informed by a note in the door of a rent increase several months before my lease even came up for renewal which raised my rent January to $1,333.00 and again upon renewal bringing the new suggested price to $1,533.00. I went to the leasing office to inquire if there was some reason we were being charged more than agreed upon and was told no, we are under new management. There are I think 16 parking places in front of our building.
There is only 1 maybe two places when I get home. I think there are only 3 maybe 4 vehicles that belong to our building. I find that odd. I have gone to school, college, married, owned two businsses worked for forty years ,lived and owned a home in this area for 54 years.
I moved to the North End of Virginia Beach in 2019 to help care for my elderly parents of 86 and 95. I thought it would be nice to take a year or two to get an apartment, help out an old friend and decide to stay here in Virginua Beach or move to my home in Suffolk. My point in sharing that is; not only is the business aspect of my inquiry regarding Waterfords unusual practices in leasing, the request for additional funds from me is as comical as me not bringing the experience to a higher power. I really do work that much, value my time, respect others and believe you should get what you pay for.
I hope this note reaches the correct party and again I'm sorry to have chosen the wrong rental property. I clearly interrupted what appears to be a sedentary battle ground of passage rights.
That was $25,000.00 hard earned money and I'm not interested in going to battle. You can look forward to getting your last request of funds however I am going to report the issues because it has made me look like the suspicious party and that's wrong.
