Dressing Room - 700 Broadway, Vancouver Canada

Have shopped there for 9 years and now closed sister store. This is a middle of the road women's dress shop, casual to corporate wear, with generous sales, but is not a discount store.

Purchased a summer weight sweater off the sale rack, which revealed large holes at seams and zipper upon handwashing and light drying. When tried to return for refund was told as it was "discounted" when purchased I would only get a 10% refund. I paid 46.00 at 1/2 price.

I said was insulted and suggested a full refund. She was not happy but offered me a store credit as per their policy. Given that she had tried to pull a fast one, I said I preferred a full refund, in cash. At this point a store clerk turned around and told me to be quiet. When I told her to mind her own business the manager told me she would give me a cash refund if I never came back.

I said I would take the refund but refused to promised never to shop there. She rescinded the offer of the refund. I then took the written store credit, refusing to give my name or phone number. At this point another employee came from the back and started yelling at me about my attitude, demanding to know why wouldn't I take the refund and told me to get out and stay out.

It seems that in standing up to unfair treatment I stood out as a woman never should, loud, proud and not taking anything from them.
