- Dr K removed milia and biopsied freckle, $45 copay.
- White foam on the healed spot caused a burn-like reaction; charges $45 and $30; billing confusion.
I went to this office (10th Abe 45th St). for a milia on my arm & eyelid 8/22.
Dr. K removed them. He invited me to have a cancer screening which my insurance would cover, he said. He found a tiny freckle on my wrist.
He biopsied it. I was charged a $45. co pay. On my way out another patient seemed upset & told the receptionist she was not leaving until something was straightened out.
I left ! Not quite 10 days later I received a call from Dr K saying my tiny freckle was precancerous & he wanted to see me. My tiny wound was almost healed. Without explanation he sprayed white foamy stuff on my little, almost healed, spot.
He asked if it stung & I confirmed it did. 'Good! It's doing its job! Put Vaseline on it!', he said.
He said he'd see me in a year. I was charged another $45. In about an hour my wrist bubbled up. (see photos).
It had been on its way to healing before he sprayed it! It felt like a burn. In a day the bubble burst... Had I not gotten a bill a few month later, I'd not review this place at all.
After much angst, I found out the receptionist should have charged me $75 copay for a specialist not $45. The $30 bill was the balance for the difference. And almost a year after my first unhappy experience - guess what? Another bill for the Aug visit.
$30. I understand the receptionist was dealing with a disgruntled patient & might have been unnerved. But to have my arm burned by an unexplained treatment & dismissed by 'Put Vaseline on it' THEN to get two mysterious bills also sans explanation made me decide to post this review! Dr Bobby Burka has Dermatology Specialists offices in every borough in more than one location!
I sent him photos directly as well as Dr. K. After I sent them there were two calls from the Hells Kitchen office but no voice mail.
It would have been nice to receive a call of concern or apology. Beware & be careful!

- A young staffer did the procedure quickly; burned nose and infection.
THE DERMATOLOGY SPECIALISTS 3531 Long Beach ROADOCEANSIDE,NY 115722**-**5-3700
Went in for a consult with "THE DERMATOLOGIST SPECIALISTS, IN OCEANSIDE,NY 3531 Long Beach ROAD, OCEANSIDE,NY 11572 with a...Dr???? A PA???
WHY do they only have a 212 area code number????? I should have known right there, something was off.....
I went in to discuss a treatment for broken capillaries, I was over due to get rid of this mess, The office looked new and shiny, I figured ...Why not! At the consult , the .....DR??? The what they told me was a Dr,
we had spoken at length about what treatment would be best.
So, about two weeks later, I book a laser treatment for broken capacities on my face, to treat, the ENTIRE area, I was told this would be out of pocket, which was fine, the entire area would be 500$
I come in on the day of my appointment "treatment".....
As this young girl, dabbed around to 3 THREE spots, as she was going along, with a shaky , Under trained hunting and pecking method, was done inside 10 minutes?
I have had this done prior with a real Dr,
This girl, DID NOT treat the AREA discussed,
However , she did manage to burn a deep hole on my nose, which quickly became infected, by the way, They charged me 500$, and I looked at the invoice, they doubled down and charged my insurance 350$ ???
I called them right away, to call them out on the hole, the subpar fake treatment &;;;;;;;;;;;;; billing my insurance,NOT to mention, the Store front, states "Dermatology
Specialists" the invoice states "Oceanside Dermatology", and, the actual "DR", that the business is under, Is someone that is in Manhattan, that Ive never heard of, SO SHADY, I reported them to my insurance, the BBB, the Inspector General, the FTC, and it the complaints will continue......Not to mention, that is Insurance fraud. Disgusting.
