Cruel & money driven $$

My cat was put down there 2 years ago and I'm still bothered how it was handled. My vet did not want to stay to do it and had another vet see us.
Cat was 10 yr old hyperesthesia (excessive physical sensitivity especially of the skin) been sick for years with kidney issues, a few seizures, on Prozac for years. Not eating for 4 days and still running a fever, his eyes turned more green and squinting (pain!). I loved that cat more than any other animal partly because I cared for him so much and he was so smart. Media Cat Hospital made me feel guilty because I did not want to $$$$$$ on life support.
I knew the cat had enough and was pass the point of return.
They insisted on another exam, man handling with rubber gloves as he is freaking out due to hyperesthesia with the little energy he had left in him. I felt like they rather keep their cash register going than do what was obvious for the sake of my beloved cat.
