Fraud / Scam

AI Highlights
  • - Spent a month delivering an audiobook for a scammer with staff-ID.
  • - No assistance from British Library for days.
  • - We are moving forward legally.

After a month working 24/7 in order to deliver an audiobook for a a scammer, as it seems, who has provided staff-id, official BL contract, I have been trying to call you desperately for two days. No assistance at all!

I spent endless working hours and money on order to complete this.

How can a scammer has proper staff-ID, contract and no one from British Library to be reachable for days?!

Not to mention the fact that BL had no idea whether the scammer is working there or not.

We are all speechless and ridiculously sad from this experience.

And of course - we are moving forward legally.

Theres no one I can refer to. Thus, knowing that I will get NO assistance from any side Im only sending this message for typical reasons.

It sounds like you didn’t do your homework. Official staff ID according to who?

You? Did you investigate the credentials, get/have an attorney review a contract and get a portion of the money up front? They have over 2,100 employees.

Did you contact an attorney to find out who specifically to contact to verify employment? You got scammed hard, but you only have yourself to blame.

I DID do my homework. Is not the first time doing such a thing.

It would be nice to read between the lines first. And, honestly its extremely awkward to get such an reply. No wonder, after all. And just for the record, and NOT for your concern, - I reveived official BL staff Id with photo and credentials of an actual Project Director in BL.

Read this again. - I have been calling the non-existing British Library customer service, for days and every single number I found - without any answer, at all! - The contract I received from the scammer had ALL necessary details on. Stamp, signature, etc.

ALL properly done. - The scammer himself can be found online as an actual British Library employee, with photo, name etc. ALL VALID! Read this again before you say anything.

- My lwayer confirmed that the contract is valid.

Anyways, it would be better NOT to provide any feedback or comment since you think...'I havent done my homework'. @British Library - I know this doesnt matter at all, but after the security breach you had some months ago...you should at least have the dignity to provide answers.
