The Best Master Dresser Review

Best Master 6 drawer dresser with marble top, and matching end tables. I have not received my items yet. I hope i don't have the problem that this customer have, I am worried now. Stay tuned

The Best Master, Inc.

I purchased a kitchen table with a marble top manufactured by Best Master from At Home Furniture in Henderson, Nevada on March 11, 2011. After less than six months of usage, there began to appear major defects with the marble top. On September 10, 2011, I contacted the At Home Furniture salesperson named Teri who originally sold me the table and told her of my problem. Over the next 2 months she has been in contact with representatives at your company regarding this situation. She said my case was under consideration and that it was possible a replacement marble table top might be the ultimate solution. On November 5, 2011 Teri informed me that Best Master was NOT going to replace my table top and said that she did not know what else could be done. She said Best Master was one of very few manufacturers that did not offer a 1 year warranty and there was nothing more she could do about the situation. It is not her that I am upset with. I believe she pursued the appropriate channels at Best Master and with the information provided to Best Master they decided not to rectify the situation. I included 7 pictures of my table top and the 10 different areas on that table where there were major and minor issues and I will also included my bill of sale in an email I sent to Best Master. I hoped viewing these pictures would show that there is some sort of obvious flaw in the marble table top or the sealant Best Master used to finish the product. Either way, I, the consumer, did nothing outside of the ordinary with this kitchen table. There is simply no way that in 6 months a table should show these kinds of wear and tear. To summarize the pictures that were included: there are two major areas that cover a size of approximately 4" x 4". Those areas are labeled #3 and #4. These two major areas are now rough to the touch and it appears the finish is totally gone from these two areas. On the spots labeled 1,2 and 5 there are minor flaws where you can see that a cup was set on the table (obviously a normal activity for a kitchen table). At no time was a glass left on this table for more than 1 hour (the time to consume a long meal) nor was any glass ever left overnight or anything of that nature. While I consider these three cup rings to be minor flaws they are still disturbing. Finally you will see a picture labeled 8 which has a similar issue to items 3 and 4. Its size is only 1" x 1" and therefore could possibly be considered minor as well. The fact remains that areas 3 and 4 are defects so egregious that a new table top is the only viable solution that I can imagine. There are also a couple of pictures that try to capture the overall damage for all 10 spots besides these 5 individual close ups that attempt to give you a more clear picture of the most disturbing defects. I requested The Best Master, Inc. to take the time to analyze the pictures and reconsider my request for a new table top. I also told them if they (The Best Master Inc.) decide not to replace my table top (what I imagine is a part that would cost you less than $300 given that I paid $700 for the table), then I will be forced to take my issues to the Internet. This would mean extremely negative reviews for The Best Master, Inc at sites such as furnitureplanners.com, epinions.com, pissedconsumer.com, buzzillions.com, and bizrate.com, and the better business bureau in Pomona, California would also be contacted. I suspect that the cost of that bad publicity and loss of sales from such reviews would lead to losses well in excess of the replacement costs of my tabletop. HERE IS THE REPLY I RECEIVED FROM A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE BEST MASTER, INC. -- Our company just received your email regarding a marble top dining table #818. We are not the "manufacture" of the product. We import and wholesale to Retail Stores. I have reviewed the images you've sent and reviewed your concerns. The marble top is a type of natural marble that requires special "cleaning and care". Stains and rings are not manufacture defects. Those occur due to improper use/care. We only warrant on manufacture's workmanship, not damages due to improper care. We recommend you research on "marble cleaning and care" on how to preserve your product before use and during use. Please contact the Retailer from which you've purchased the product for any extended warranty they offered, if any. Sincerely, Kim Tran Customer Service Mgr. The Best Master Enterprises Inc. AFTER RECEIVING THIS REPLY I SENT THE FOLLOWING LETTER (HAND WRITTEN) DIRECTLY TO THE OWNER OR C.E.O. OF THE BEST MASTER, INC. IN NOVEMBER OF 2011. I NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY. HERE IS THE LETTER: Dear Owner or C.E.O. of The Best Master Enterprises, I am writing this letter by hand in regard to a dining room table that I purchased from At Home Furniture in Henderson, Nevada on March 11, 2011. This dining room table has a marble table top and is listed on my bill of sale as "style #818". This table came to At Home Furniture from your company, The Best Master Enterprises. (A copy of this bill of sale is included in this letter.) Within a few weeks of taking delivery of the table, minor defects began to occur in the marble table top. After less than six months of normal usage there were fairly large defects that began to become obvious. So on September 10, 2011 I contacted the salesperson, named Teri, who was shown pictures of the unusual wear the table top had been showing. Shortly thereafter Teri contacted a representative from your company. For nearly two months I was dealing with Teri who, in turn, was dealing with a representative of your company trying to come up with a good resolution for this problem. She had requested that your company replace the marble tabletop. As I understand it that possible solution was under consideration. On November 5, 2011 Teri informed me that your company was not going to replace my tabletop. She said your company was the only one she knew of that did not have some sort of one year warranty. She said your company offered no solution and she did not know what else could be done. On November 9, 2011 I contacted your company via email in an attempt to appeal your decision not to replace the table top. (That email is included in this letter.) On November 10, 2011 I received an email in reply from your customer service manager, Kim Tran. That email indicated that stains and rings (which I had listed as the minor defects) were due to improper use or care. The recommendation was to research proper marble use and care. (That email is included in this letter.) Needless to say I found this response to insensitive and insulting. So on November 11, 2011 I sent a reply to Kim Tran. There was no response my last email; thus, the need to send you this hand written message. I have also included the pictures of the tabletop for you to view as well. I certainly hope that viewing these pictures will show you that normal wear and tear. I apologize as the ink in my printer and its quality leave a lot to be desired but I certainly still it shows all of the major defects and many of the minor defects as well. It is my hope that you will consider replacing my table top. If that occurs you will have a very happy customer who will take the time to tell as many people as possible that The Best Master Enterprises is a company that should be used whenever anyone is in need for a product your company sells. If you choose not to replace the table top then I will also tell as many people as possible of my horrible experience with your company and its product. In the age of the Internet, it is not hard to see that "as many people as possible" can become a rather large number rather quickly. Also I will not hesitate to contact your local better business bureau to file a complaint. I am sure you will see that it is best to satisfy a customer who has done nothing wrong in the normal everyday use of your product. Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter.
